I went to a wedding here a few weekends ago and it was hands down one of the most impressive receptions I've ever attended! The venue is beautiful adorned with ornate crown moldings, glistening marble floors and large crystal chandeliers. It is a large facility with multiple different rooms. The couple we were celebrating got married in a grand ballroom with a large staircase. The staff was friendly and accommodating. After the ceremony, we segued to cocktail hour across the hall. There were several bars for guests to choose from, however the drinks were very weak (I tipped my bartender with each drink I ordered). The cocktail hour was INSANE with every single hor'dovour more spectacular than the next, including: a sushi bar, pasta station, several charcuterie boards/antipastos, raw bar, etc. There was even a leaning Tower of Pisa made from Parmesan reggiano cheese. You could have made a meal out of all of the options! The bride told me after the fact that this was an option for the reception.... WOW. The staff were very attentive, sweet and friendly. The ballroom for the reception was massive with multiple neatly set tables, a wide dance floor and high ceilings. We had a three course meal that was delicious, warm and timely! For dessert there was a Viennese table with every single cake or "sweet treat" that you could fathom. I highly recommend this venue if you are planning on having a large ceremony. This may seem like a small detail for some people... but the bathrooms were stocked with many feminine hygiene/beauty products which was a plus and there were many beautiful places to take pictures with friends/partners! read more

The food was outrageous, the service from each and every worker was superb. I would give everything a rating of 100 plus. In all of my life I have truly never attended such an event! I can't say enough about this place. After the death of my dad they were able to quickly accommodate a large repast of family and friends with just a few days notice. The staff were absolutely incredible and attentive. Everyone made sure we were comfortable and happy. I would recommend them 1000 times over for any large event you're thinking of. read more

We would like to share in a very special review. We had the honor of attending a cousins wedding(Amanda and Jonathon Wartel) tonight at Macaluso's. We traveled from eastern Long Island to share in this occasion. There are not enough words to say how professional and elegant our night was from beginning to end! The cocktail hour was done exquisitely , they did not miss a thing. Every station was set up and professionally engaging! The servers were welcoming and again professional! The was bountiful of food from super colossal shrimp cocktail, fresh oysters, clams etc. mouth watering baby lamp chops cooked to perfection , served with a generous portion, fresh tenderloin, sliced beef, stuffed turkey , calamari are only a few things to mention.all this done in a separate cocktail hour room with seating! How wonderful! Waiters and waitresses were plentiful!! The start up for reception was inviting. Hearty salad was served, lemon sorbet which cleansed our palates nicely and of course an elegant dinner. Both my husband and I had the Chateau Briand ( you did not need your knife to cut it)with garlic mashed potatoes, healthy portion of fresh steamed string beans, . A lovely steamed carrot and brown gravy to cover the meat snd potatoes if you choose. We could not finish our meal! The amount of food is hard to describe but enormous! The end all is theViennese hour which was breath taking and more than any one could indulge in. Our server was excellent, top notch! Her name is Juana! We appreciate her snd she left a very special impact on us! We must let everyone know how professional her appearance is, her mannerism and how she cares about her job touched us deeply !!! I've been to many events at many different catering venues around the tristate area and NONE compare to Macs! Best food, best service and did I mention best food? We ordered take out from here during the pandemic when they weren't allowed to host parties. Even their takeout was out of this world. I sort of wish they were still taking smaller orders. Seriously, there are many other great venues in north Jersey, but I still tell people Macalusos is #1. I encourage anyone reading this not to only consider this wonderful venue for weddings and bridal showers... not a filmmaker that attended did not say that this wasn't the greatest Award Ceremony they had ever attended.... and we had very active filmmakers attend from across the country and around the world. My friend got married during COVID here. The wedding hall is so big that everyone on my livestream mentioned that it looked empty even though there were about 100 people in attendance. The food was your average wedding food. The bartender was very sweet! Also, social distancing guidelines, temperature checks, and masks in the halls is all in order. read more

I recently attended a wedding at Macaluso's. The establishment sits high above the street, so you feel like you are pulling up to a castle! Complementary Valet service was available to park our cars, which was nice since we were dressed in formal attire.The venue is decked out with chandeliers, candles, fireplaces and art, which are slightly dated. The cocktail hour was loaded with choices, and the open bar was certainly handy, though the drinks were tiny. The food as a whole was *meh*, lacking flavor and excitement. I had a NY strip steak that was over cooked and bland. I heard other people discussing the same quality of their food. Generally, the servers were lovely and welcoming, but you could tell that they kept the event on a strict timetable, it felt very rushed. Personally, I would want a wedding to feel more free-flowing and natural. If you are the kind of person who wants to be kept to a timeline for your special day, this place is for you. As a first time visitor to this highly-praised event venue, I couldn't have been any more impressed. The décor, the service, and most importantly the food lived up to all the expectations that I had coming in to the place. My work holiday party was held for the first time this year at Macaluso's and I think it's going to continue to be held there for years to come based on all the positive comments from everyone I spoke to. For a place to hold hundreds and hundreds of party revelers and still maintain a great sense of elegance is no small feat, but Macaluso's was able to pull it off with grace and style. Boy what a treat it was to celebrate with coworkers and enjoy all the hard work this past year. The place may not be the biggest venue I have been to but its space utilization is perfect. The main ballroom has a huge dance floor and plenty of space to accommodate a couple hundred guests. The décor is Italian elegance mixed with French flare. You instantly knew it was going to be a classy party as soon as you walked in. Connected to the grand ballroom was another area where the buffet was set-up. Selections were simply too many to recount and the food served was nothing short of perfect. Everything was scrumptious and I ate every bit of food on my plate until not a single morsel was left. At first I felt so awkward for doing such thing but then I realized that I wasn't the only one who pretty much licked their plate clean. Perhaps that's the biggest compliment I can give--I would have actually licked my plate clean had it not been for my coworker stopping me! I understand why many people list Macaluso's as a favorite place to hold events. I can only imagine how amazing a wedding would be here. If my holiday party experience was any indicator, any bride would find this place the perfect venue for her special day. Attended a Summer wedding at macaluso! The reception was held at this location... from the outside it looked like a small little Italian restaurant...but the inside looked so big and elegant... the entrees span all the way to a three course sit down dinner with a full open bar and dancing into the night.... I really enjoyed the buffet of appetizers...very delish... The only thing I had a problem with would be the seats were located a mile away from the buffet....made it extremely hard and difficult to get another plate of food.. I thought the decor was nice... Pretty elegant... The center pieces were cutes...kept me entrain all night... The service was great...but I felt hurried because they keep asking me if Im done with my food... first dance for the bride and groom....a father/daughter dance for the bride and her father... possibly a mother/son dance for the son and his mother...and then everyone joins in and partying it up... during the reception...the bride and groom cut the wedding cake and feed each other a bite...towards the end of the reception... the bride did the bouquet toss every single or unmarried women went crazy for it... Ever since my brother got married at Macaluso's years ago, I knew that this was the venue I would want to host my own wedding. Now it was my chance. The food was exactly how I remembered it, delicious and plentiful. Even now, months later, people are still telling me about how amazing the food was! Since my last visit there, the venue underwent a massive renovation that is, quite honestly, awe inspiring. From the white-marbled floors, to the brand-new patio and ceremony area, to the lighting in the main ballroom and bridal suite, Macaluso's provided everything we needed to make the wedding we planned into a reality. Maroon (Matar) treated us like family since the moment we walked through the door and pulled out all of the stops when it came to what he provided for us. Not only did the wedding go flawlessly, but when it came to moving the wedding from October 2020 to June 2021, Maroon selflessly provided new dates and times without any extra hassle. The event staff (from the managers to the captains to the attendants and servers) were amazingly polite, professional, and courteous throughout the entire day. The set-up was immaculate, the timing and presentation of all the courses were perfect, and the only thing left to my husband and I was to have an amazing time. Every detail imaginable was taken care of, and the staff made sure that we ate, drank, and fully enjoyed our wedding day without a thing to worry about. I am an associate member of the Marine Corps League Detachment 744. For the last several years we have had our Marine Corps Ball at Macaluso's. The food is outstanding and the service is the best. Due to the pandemic Macaluso's is unable to host any indoor events. Good news for all they have outdoor dinning with a wonderful menu. My husband and I were joined by two other couples for dinner in their beautiful outdoor setting this evening. The food as always was incredible. I am looking forward to next year when we will be able to have the Marine Corps Ball, but until then I wish Macaluso's all the best and I highly recommend them for dinner. read more

Three words... HACKENSACK HOLIDAY PARTY. Wow what a venue, not sure if it was the wine, the music, the food, or the company that made this place rock so much but it was incredible! My one recommendation which is probably the hospitals choosing is that you have to get there and to the food early as it is out and waiting to be eaten at 7:00pm when the party started. The side rooms with the pictures was hysterical and the karaoke was legendary. While the idea of having my wedding in NJ was not my idea of a dream wedding, my husband was insistent on having our wedding at Macaluso's right from the day of the engagement. Tehy did not miss a beat. The staff was amazing and the food was out of this world. Our friends in California are still talking about it....the thing is that the people in New Jersey are still talking about it! In addition, the people who didn't make it, but saw the food in our wedding video are also talking about the abundance and the presentation of it. I only come here once a year for the RBBARI Tricky Tray... The service is outstanding.. Its a fixed menu. We start off with the antipasto sald.. comes with 3 different kinds of cheese.. cheddar /swiss and fresh mozz.. olives.. mushrooms.. and grilled seasoned veggies... so good! Then we are served pasta... pasta is cooked to perfection and there sauce is really good... then we had chicken breast in some kind of wine reduction.. the chicken was very juicy..and the sauce was really good.. Staff: friendly and accommodated all my husband's allergies and my grandmas's request to take food home. The dinner was lackluster, thought the vegetarian option was a plate of pasta (not my preference). After years of coming here for Easter dinner this will most likely be our last. The same setup was used year after year. This year they only had a Cocktail Hour and a Venetian Hour, no main course. No notice was given when you arrived of this change and no signs were posted. People in our party were disappointed when they heard there was no main course and that was all we were getting. A simple reminder by the waiter is all we asked for but they didn't even do that. And forget about the Venetian hour at this place. People grab pastries and desserts like they are having their last meal. They need to control this better as it gets out of control and makes you avoid the desserts all together.
