I am the director of a young film festival... and we just had our first year's Award Ceremony at Macaluso's in Feb 2023. I encourage anyone reading this not to only consider this wonderful venue for weddings and bridal showers... not a filmmaker that attended did not say that this wasn't the greatest Award Ceremony they had ever attended.... and we had very active filmmakers attend from across the country and around the world. In some ways having our event here really "put us on the map" and I intend to have it here going forward, for as long as they will have us... amazing food, attentive staff and decades of experience and pride... thank you Macaluso's

My friend got married during COVID here. The wedding hall is so big that everyone on my livestream mentioned that it looked empty even though there were about 100 people in attendance. The food was your average wedding food. The bartender was very sweet! Also, social distancing guidelines, temperature checks, and masks in the halls is all in order.

I recently attended a wedding at Macaluso's. The establishment sits high above the street, so you feel like you are pulling up to a castle! Complementary Valet service was available to park our cars, which was nice since we were dressed in formal attire. The venue is decked out with chandeliers, candles, fireplaces and art, which are slightly dated. The cocktail hour was loaded with choices, and the open bar was certainly handy, though the drinks were tiny. The food as a whole was *meh*, lacking flavor and excitement. I had a NY strip steak that was over cooked and bland. I heard other people discussing the same quality of their food. Generally, the servers were lovely and welcoming, but you could tell that they kept the event on a strict timetable, it felt very rushed. Personally, I would want a wedding to feel more free-flowing and natural. If you are the kind of person who wants to be kept to a timeline for your special day, this place is for you. They will have you PROMPTLY out at 11pm.

Ever since my brother got married at Macaluso's years ago, I knew that this was the venue I would want to host my own wedding. Now it was my chance. The food was exactly how I remembered it, delicious and plentiful. Even now, months later, people are still telling me about how amazing the food was! Since my last visit there, the venue underwent a massive renovation that is, quite honestly, awe inspiring. From the white-marbled floors, to the brand-new patio and ceremony area, to the lighting in the main ballroom and bridal suite, Macaluso's provided everything we needed to make the wedding we planned into a reality. Maroon (Matar) treated us like family since the moment we walked through the door and pulled out all of the stops when it came to what he provided for us. Not only did the wedding go flawlessly, but when it came to moving the wedding from October 2020 to June 2021, Maroon selflessly provided new dates and times without any extra hassle. The event staff (from the managers to the captains to the attendants and servers) were amazingly polite, professional, and courteous throughout the entire day. The set-up was immaculate, the timing and presentation of all the courses were perfect, and the only thing left to my husband and I was to have an amazing time. Every detail imaginable was taken care of, and the staff made sure that we ate, drank, and fully enjoyed our wedding day without a thing to worry about. There is no other place to have your wedding (or event), trust me, you will not regret it.

As a first time visitor to this highly-praised event venue, I couldn't have been any more impressed. The décor, the service, and most importantly the food lived up to all the expectations that I had coming in to the place. My work holiday party was held for the first time this year at Macaluso's and I think it's going to continue to be held there for years to come based on all the positive comments from everyone I spoke to. For a place to hold hundreds and hundreds of party revelers and still maintain a great sense of elegance is no small feat, but Macaluso's was able to pull it off with grace and style. Boy what a treat it was to celebrate with coworkers and enjoy all the hard work this past year. The place may not be the biggest venue I have been to but its space utilization is perfect. The main ballroom has a huge dance floor and plenty of space to accommodate a couple hundred guests. The décor is Italian elegance mixed with French flare. You instantly knew it was going to be a classy party as soon as you walked in. Connected to the grand ballroom was another area where the buffet was set-up. Selections were simply too many to recount and the food served was nothing short of perfect. Everything was scrumptious and I ate every bit of food on my plate until not a single morsel was left. At first I felt so awkward for doing such thing but then I realized that I wasn't the only one who pretty much licked their plate clean. Perhaps that's the biggest compliment I can give--I would have actually licked my plate clean had it not been for my coworker stopping me! I understand why many people list Macaluso's as a favorite place to hold events. I can only imagine how amazing a wedding would be here. If my holiday party experience was any indicator, any bride would find this place the perfect venue for her special day. Perhaps when I attend a wedding here I can see another side of it, but I have no doubt based on my one visit they will blow any event out of the water.

They were tremendous and very accommodating all night. The cocktail hour had a number of different options ranging from a seafood table to Charcuterie plates to a gyro station. There was also a number of pastas and a section for Asian cuisine with stir fry being served. There were numerous staff members walking around with handheld dishes too. My favorite option here was probably the harissa at the gyro station. I had that on a falafel gyro, and it was very flavorful. The sushi rolls were decent at best while the grilled chorizo was tasty. Those were just a few of the many dishes I had. For dinner, there was a choice of three main courses along with a salad. The salad consisted of mixed greens, frisee, endive, almond silvers, dried cranberries, and goat cheese with a white balsamic vinaigrette. This was a well put together salad. The white balsamic vinaigrette was key as it brought all the flavors together. Regarding the main course, I was able to share two, the filet mignon and Chilean seabass. The filet had a bordelaise sauce with carrots, asparagus, and a red bliss potato cake. The seabass was pan seared with an heirloom tomato fondue, asparagus, carrots, and a rice pilaf. These were decent at best. The filet had an inconsistent temperature throughout as it was cooked to a medium on the inside while the outside was more well done. The vegetables were a tad hard while the potato cake was nicely fried. It was expected at a large event. The seabass was cooked nicely, but just well under seasoned. The fondue was okay while the rice was a tad hard too. For dessert, cake with ice cream was served. I doubt the cake was made on the premise, but it was not too bad. It was all vanilla I believe including the ice cream. Will I go back? Probably.

I called in the morning to make a reservation for a Friday early afternoon. Nobody returned my call after an hour and a half so I tried calling again. Someone answered and took my reservation for 2. There's plenty of parking around the property, but I really wouldn't suggest visiting when they're busy (weekends, autumn). Pamela and Lauren were serving the wines and took care of everyone. They wanted to ensure everybody got wines that enjoyed. We weren't crazy about too many of the wines, but did find a couple we liked. We really enjoyed the Rkatsiteli wine and bought 3 bottles. You can't bring food from outside into the experience, but you can purchase food from the farm's market. We got some port cheese spread and breadsticks. The market charges a 2 percent credit card fee, but the wine tasting room doesn't charge a fee. If you reserve at least 48 hours in advance, you can purchase charcuterie boxes. The only suggestion I have for improvement is to provide some water during the tasting experience. This is typical at wineries as tasters want to cleanse their palates and glasses.

The farm itself has a really nice petting zoo for the kids and the market food is really good. The woman at the front of the Tomasello winery room was rude and condescending. When she found out we were walk-ins, she mocked us mimicking a rotary phone telling us that we needed to call for a reservation because it was a Saturday and they were very busy. There were multiple seats open and she did agree to sit us. While there, multiple other walk-ins were also seated. The wine itself was not my taste. It was overly sweet or tasted watered down. I honestly struggled to finish the tasting. My feelings were shared by the other 4 people in my group. In summary, the atmosphere was enjoyable, the front desk lady was rude, the wine was not my taste, but the GF donuts in the market were amazing. The tasting was $16. You received 6 tastings about an ounce and a free wine glass.

He was very communicative--even with the 13 hour time difference, I was able to coordinate with him easily. I had my husband be taken out of the house three hours before the party to set up... the balloon arch was delivered right on time. The photographer showed up half an hour earlier than the party. The magician I wanted to hire was booked somewhere else and I only found out a few days before, but the balloon sculpture artist Mark recommended instead was an absolute hit with the kids as well as the adults, which was a pleasant surprise. He made my husband the most outrageous birthday hat. Right when he was supposed to be done, one of the kids tripped and popped his balloons and got upset, and he stayed longer to make him (and a few other stragglers) more balloons. Truly kind. The photographer David was also really so helpful, friendly, and on it! He came early and helped with some of the set up... he was attentive and also very nice to talk to. Very natural (sometimes it's awkward when a photographer's in your face taking pictures but it wasn't awkward at all). We got a USB full of pictures right after the party! My husband and I got married here on 11/7/21, so this is a very belated review, but I just wanted…read moreeveryone to know how awesome the Tides Estate is. Everyone was raving about good the food was, and how the ballroom was the grandest one they'd ever seen. The cocktail hour area was super spacious, which was one of things that my husband and I were looking for when we were researching venues. We hate when we go to a wedding and we have a plate of food in one hand, drink in the other, and nowhere to put them down and/or sit. But not at the Tides - plenty of seating, which is also much appreciated during Covid times, since it means guests will likely not be crowded in one area. Tito was our banquet manager and he answered my billion questions leading up to the wedding. Any worry I had, no matter how trivial it seemed, was put at ease. My girls and I got ready at the Tides. I had 9 BMs plus my Mom and MIL, and there was plenty of getting ready space. The main room is also very pretty, so it's great for 'getting ready' photo ops. There's also a room for the GMs to hang out in, although they are all connected so if you are the Bride, just have a member of the bridal party make sure that the Groom isn't around when you leave the room. Our maitre'd, Steve was awesome. Whenever I thought that I needed something, before I could even tell a BM to go find him, it seemed as though Steve would appear out of thin air, like some kind of wizard or something. We did a tea ceremony beforehand, and he set it up for us before we even needed to ask him to. He even packed our leftovers at the end of the night, knowing we did not get to eat. The Tides' motto is 'where we make your dreams come true', which I thought was a bit corny at first. But now that I've had my wedding there, I can see that they really do live up to that. Everything was perfect. Tip - they have a sound system in house, so if you are planning on hiring a DJ, let them know about this and maybe your DJ can offer you a discount.
