I was invited to a Christmas party and was very excited because I've never been to the Brownstone. I've heard many good things over the years and I had high expectations due to the fact they've been featured on the bravo NJ housewives. Valet guys were super friendly and fast! The food was good - the buffet had more than enough food for our party. The passed apps were the best. We enjoyed mini lobster rolls, lamp pops, and shrimp cocktail. The venue itself is nice. The room we were in had an old school vibe but still classy nonetheless. My only complaint would be that the waitstaff wasn't very friendly. It seemed like we were a bother when we go to the bar to order drinks or even ask a question at the dessert buffet. Maybe it was just a bad night for them?

When I was planning my husband's 70th milestone birthday, I was recommended by a client to use The Brownstone as our caterer. We went to their facility and sat down with Albert Manzo, the owner. He offered great suggestions after carefully listening to our conversation. We left there knowing that we had found the right and perfect place to caterer our event. They were very thorough in surveying our property with our goals in mind to make this the perfect celebration party! They did not disappoint as it exceeded our expectations with amazing food, service and hospitality. They paid attention to every detail and made sure that nothing was missed. The food was so fresh and delicious, the baked goods including the birthday cake were off the charts and the clean up was fantastic! Our guests are still talking about what an amazing event it was! Everything you could wish and hope for when throwing a party. Great job to the Brownstone and their team!!!

Was here for an event recently, The Brownstone is an upscale clean venue with tons of fresh quality options. The staff were attentive, the bartenders were great, and the ammount of options were incredible ranging from burger sliders, pastas, seafoods, and different types of meat including chicken/pork dishes. The Brownstone never disappoints!

Came here for an Engagement party. Things to note: - I was thoroughly impressed with the food. Oftentimes, the food is not great when it comes to these big parties but this place's buffet did not disappoint. It was The short ribs were so tender and flavorful. The focaccia was yummy. Pasta was cooked well and so was the calamarie. Even their chicken was good! The dessert was all good for the selection they had. - This place seems like they mass produce big party celebrations. When we were here for an engagement party, there was also a baby's 1st birthday, a birthday party, and some other celebration going on all at the same time. - Their sound system could use some work. - The staff were awesome - so friendly and accommodating. Parking: there's a lot outside and there's additional parking in the lot across the street. Just use that one because the one out front is small and will be full if there's an event going on.

Aside from weddings, I don't get a chance too often to enjoy the great food and service at The Brownstone so I jump at opportunities that come up - such as gathering with friends to celebrate Italian-American heritage (I'm Greek-Irish....shhhh!! don't tell 'em) with old friends and new acquaintances! Brownstone keeps the food flowing all night - from seafood cocktail raw bar through the unique dishes presented throughout the evening - they do a great job. The facility itself is very nice as well. With many competitors expanding with almost over-the-top additions and super cathedral ceilings everywhere, Brownstone continues with its handsome structure in a refined way. The sun-filled atrium is a very nice touch! Hope to enjoy many occasions here in the future!

The Brownstone, gratefully, was the location of my bridal shower. When I gave the options to my mom who was planning & hosting for me, I initially thought this room was out of our budget and was so elated when I showed up! This banquet room was gorgeous! There were windows almost on all sides of the room, a gorgeous chandelier and amble room for my 30 or so guests. It was stunning & the sun was shining in. I also adored the table settings. The cake was made by the venue and I couldn't love it any more than I do/did! It fit our theme "Snow in love" for my February shower & I don't know what was better the look or taste of this cake! We had a buffet style brunch menu & they had a pitcher of mimosas for us as well. The servers were also well trained, prompt with requests and attentive. I highly recommend this venue if you are from the area! I can only imagine the stunning weddings that are hosted on this gorgeous property. Thank you so much to The Brownstone!

I went to a wedding here. I won't say the exact date because I wouldn't want our dear friends to know our disappointment. I have been here before for many things, and I found it above average for a catering hall. But this last event - ugh. I will say this couple did not skimp. I know for a fact they paid a good penny to have a running cocktail hour their whole event. Where do I begin? It is clear the quality of the food is subpar to keep costs low. The idea of a raw bar was lovely. The oysters were meh and certainly not fresh tasting. But the second raw clam I got had the worst off taste ever that I was done. I wanted to throw up. The cold cut meats were tasty. The cheese was nothing tasting Italian. It was bland. I love cheese, and I can't even tell you what it was! It was not provolone or Parmesan, which you'd have expected. Whatever it was it wasn't aged. Even a cheap cheddar or Gouda would have tasted better - tasted like a cheese tbh. The rice balls. They were a winner. The crab cakes were awesome. The fried calamari was limp and not crispy. They put too much out at once and it was sadly mushy and oily as a result. The meats were fine. The artichoke hearts were okay. The salads were tasteless. Even the roasted veggies tasted flat. How does that happen? Maybe they were past their prime? Not ripe? I don't know. But they weren't good. The pastas were meh too. Oily sauces. Mushy pasta. Olive Garden or Italian deli restaurant quality. I hate to say that but it's true. The dessert table - ugh. I was looking forward to this not disappointing after the food. After all it's hard to mess up a cheesecake or desserts, no? But alas. Apparently it is not. The cheesecake was bland. It didn't have that tart tang like a good Cheesecake has. And it had that weird gelatin texture. Basically the quality of a cheap bakery. The chocolate pudding tarts were so lacking in quality. The other tarts were terrible. The chocolate fountain looked good but the chocolate wasn't good. The cookies were like Costco "fresh baked." In fact that is the best way to describe all of the dessert items. If you like simply edible and sweet - it works. If your guests aren't used to good food from upscale places and are impressed with the local all you can eat buffet kind of food then this will be great for you. But it isn't the same quality of an even good Italian restaurant or a good bakery. I hate to say it, but it is true.

Redeeming itself from last year's post-Covid Easter mess, this year at The Brownstone was an utter delight. There's more food here in one sitting than some countries can produce in a year. I always opt for the eggplant rollatini and the thickest bacon on the planet but this year the mini burger bar (think White Mana) was the star of the day. In addition to the semi-creepy Easter bunny, there was plenty to entertain the kiddies: magicians, pennant artists, caricature artist and a host of others to make the meal a true event. Thankfully, unlike last year, there was coffee on each table so you could take a sip before those doors opened to the world's largest display of Italian inspired Easter delights. The staff was plentiful, hardworking and cordial. New Jersey Housewives be damned.

I love the Brownstone. The service you receive here is top notch quality. I have had 6 events here now and each one was made perfect by Tommy Manzo. The food is delicious .... (especially the beef steak appetizer, clams, lobster roll and crab cake appetizers) The short ribs and brisket are my favorite dinner (buffet) choices. The eggplant and Risotto are also another of my favorites. The variety of food that is offered is amazing. Ice cream waffle bar and zeppelins to top it off! The staff can not do enough for you. If you want perfection for your events ( from big to small) this is the best place by far!!

Yeah, I see the thread now.

I don't want to repeat my previous review too much. The Brownstone has pretty much been the go to spot for as long as I can remember for any wedding, rehearsal dinner, baby shower, bar mitzvah, beefsteak and more. You can book your party day or night whatever day if the week and customize your meal and plan your event however you want. If you don't have a DJ, photographer or whatever else you need for your event, they'll recommend one. I just went for a wedding and was really concerned about being around other people. I know 2 of my friends friends and don't know his family or his soon to be wife's family. I didn't think they were going to have a cocktail hour and I didn't want to go because it seemed like a high risk situation and I didn't plan on mingling. I walked in on and was able to find a seat close to the door. I'm not sure if they even had a coat rack person or if the valet was there. Pre-Covid the brownstone would be looking to provide whatever service or luxury they could. I did notice the bathroom attendant wasn't there. I thought they did a good job of keeping the entry way empty so I could be safe and feel comfortable. They'll stagger the events and close off entry ways to make sure people are kept separate and everything is sanitized. Everything was beautiful! I'm not sure who did the flowers or how much credit I can give the brownstone for the appearance. I definitely can't credit them for how good the DJ was, how much my friends family partied or how much fun I had even though I only talked to a few people. I can give them credit for the food. Everything was perfect as always. The service was friendly, attentive and well timed. As soon as I had a little bit of salad and could smell the appetizers coming out, I regretted not showing up for cocktail hour! In fact I'm still mad! The drinks were mixed mixed just right nice and cold, while the desserts were warmed just right. I suggest you throw your next event there or RSVP yes to the next event. I've tried everything on the menu many many times. It's all delicious. You can't go wrong.

Several of our guests mentioned there was not enough food at our party. Furthermore, the food that was available was subpar at best. One guest flew in from Florida to celebrate with us, and said several dishes ran out and weren't replenished. Another guest told us she only had rice & beans to eat because all the other dishes ran out. A guest who managed to get some meat said it was so fatty she couldn't even eat it - it was causing her to choke! Another guest panicked, trying to figure out how to discreetly spit out an inedible piece of gristle. I cannot put into words how mortified I am. I have never hosted a party where guests left hungry and I am absolutely humiliated. The catering charge is calculated per person, so there should have been plenty of food for everyone - especially since we had several no-shows. We paid for MORE people than actually attended and they STILL ran out of food. We paid an extra upcharge for salmon, and the piece I received was about the size of a silver dollar. Many of the dishes were rice-based, making this even more inexcusable - how GREEDY and CHEAP do you have to be to run out of rice at a 100-person party?! Part of the reason we chose this venue was their "authentic" Peruvian menu, but it was embarrassing serving this to our Peruvian relatives! The ceviche was bland and disappointing, like the rest of the food (what there was of it, anyway). These owners pocketed nearly $10,000 and had no shame shortchanging 100 guests. I will be sending out apology notes with our thank you cards for this debacle - something I never imagined having to do for my own engagement party. Several guests have actually expressed pity for us because it's glaringly obvious we were ripped off and taken advantage of. Thank god we aren't having our wedding here! Do not make the mistake of trusting this venue with your celebration unless you want to spend it apologizing to your loved ones instead of celebrating with them.

He truly made the planning process feel easy and stress-free. On the day of the wedding, the matrades d', Adriana and Jaylene, were absolute superstars. They were by my side the entire time, making sure I was where I needed to be and that everything ran smoothly. I truly couldn't have asked for a better team. The food was phenomenal--people are *still* talking about it! So many guests told us this was one of the best weddings they've ever been to, and the food played a huge part in that. There was so much food that people didn't even realize there was more coming. The dessert table was absolutely amazing, and everything looked beautiful and tasted even better. The pizza during cocktail hour was such a fun and appreciated touch. The entire day ran seamlessly. Most recently was The Grand over this past summer. Pros of The Grand: It's truly a beautiful space. If you're in search of a traditional ballroom feel, you'll love this one. The outdoor ceremony area & indoor areas are classy and elegant. The cocktail hour was definitely the star of the show here - food was amazing and had a wide variety of cuisines available. Love the option of an outdoor pizza oven at cocktail hour - so unique! This venue is also well priced, offering great options in the NYC/NJ area. Cons of The Grand: From my experience attending a wedding here, I hated the fact that multiple events are hosted at once. Sure, the venue will tell you that the events are staggered so there's no opportunity for the two guests to overlap, but that is completely false. Upon entering the main lobby area where our couple had a champagne welcome, there were stairs that led right to another ballroom/event. Guests from the other event were running rampant up and down those stairs and throughout the entryway where the champagne welcome was, almost to the point where staff was pushing our party out of the room in hopes of avoidance. Cocktail hour for our party was in a separate area of the venue, leading guests to go outside in the courtyard and up some stairs to locate it on their own. The organization overall was just confusing. There was a raw bar present at this wedding I went to, and some of the seafood presented wasn't good (slimy, smelling funky) leading us to avoid it. The outdoor pizza oven that I mentioned being a great feature -- almost no guests knew it existed since it was outside on the balcony and the entirety of cocktail hour was indoors with closed doors, which was a shame since the pizza was delicious. The main reception dinner was lacking, with almost everyone at our table's meals overcooked and inedible. The staff were visibly exhausted as well, with the day being pretty hot in the peak of summer and the maître d' refusing to increase the air conditioning, even with multiple guests and staff begging. We as guests were hot, making us feel terrible for the staff who are forced to wear long button down attire with coats over it to keep up the visual appeal. After speaking with a few staff members (busboys, waiters, bartenders) this seems to be the norm for this venue. This wedding was beautiful and such a good time due to good company, but definitely keep these things in mind when searching for a wedding venue of your own!

My husband's was a bit pink IMO but he likes rare so didn't really care. My daughter enjoyed the penne and meatballs from the dedicated kids menu. It came with a drink and dessert. The portion was hearty and she loved the meatball! Dinner rolls on the table were amazing. Mini chibatta style that were crusty in the outside and soft and chewy in the inside. I chose the grilled lemon pepper salmon. All entrees like this are served with either rice or potato and veggies. I had mashed which were very creamy and flavorful. The salmon had good flavor but IMO was cooked just a little too long. It was flaky but the edges seemed a little dry. Overall I'd recommend it but suggest asking for a medium cook. The drinks are fairly priced, however, the hookah was a whopping $42. So we opted out of that. Maybe that's how much the price is now but I remember back in the day paying $25 for a hookah. I had a great night out and definitely will return. Thank you for a great night, 46 Lounge!

Went here for New Years Eve 2025. We've haven't been to a club for a.VERY long time - a couple of…read moredecades and more. Being used to places like Illusions at the Sheraton Mahwah as well as the Limelight and Webster Hall, the NYE advertisement made it far larger than it actually is. Paid $100 for open bar and buffet - which is super reasonable but we would have preferred a table but none were available. Getting drinks throughout the night was not a problem - always prompt and friendly. The buffet was actually quite good which included jumbo shrimp, sushi, Spanish food , Italian, and lots of appetizers which were pretty good. In the beginning, we thought it was a bad idea coming as it was quite empty at 8pm. By 10:30, it was quite busy and at 11:30, packed to the limit. They served midnight champagne, party favors, and were quite well staffed. The BIG issues.... It was open bar. So I probably had at least 12-15 drinks. I would be normally plastered for drinking so much (and I don't normally drink very much). I just wanted a slight buzz so that I would enjoy the constant dancing. I always saw them pour at least 1 shot of alcohol per drink. I wasn't even slightly buzzed or drunk for that matter. Leads me to believe they watered down the bottles. I can't prove anything but the fact we drank so much all night with no effects leads me to wonder. Second, with hundreds of people and 1 women's bathroom with 2 stalls, my wife was was holding it in instead of waiting for a 30 minute + line. In the end, we did enjoy the NYE party very much. $100 is pretty reasonable but with alcohol issues, I would skip the place if that is important yo you.
