The first stop on the Food Lovers tour and holy cow, I am amazed. If this is what the food is like in Barcelona, I'm hooked!
A little loud at a big table in the back of this small restaurant, but loud means friendly and the service was excellent. The food was impressive.
We had three courses of tapas here. The first, a fried eggplant (some call them aubergines) with drizzled honey. Um, wow that's tasty stuff right there. Course two, sausages in a tomato sauce. Delicious! The third course was the best of the bunch, a roast pork. Usually, a chef will toss the drippings. Not here. The drippings were added back to the pork making for a very tasty, dish that was moist and rich.
As for the wine, we had a very tasty sangria with oranges in it. A little sweet, but for the first table of tapas, sweet is what you want. Get your appetite roaring.
Mad respect for Chacina. A great meal and a terrific start for our tapas tour of Barcelona. read more
