We stopped by The Cellar in San Clemente for a night out and found exactly the kind of atmosphere that makes a place fun to linger. The restaurant was busy, with a lively crowd. It was the kind of place where sharing plates and a bottle of wine make sense. From my visit, we tried the Charcuterie & Cheese Board, sliders, ceviche, and the Burrata Salad with grilled peach. Everything was solid, but the Burrata Salad was the clear favorite. The combination of creamy burrata with grilled peach, heirloom tomato, fresh herbs, and the bright vinaigrette had a great balance of sweet, savory, and fresh flavors. It was the dish I'd come back for. The other plates rounded out the meal well, especially for sharing, and the wine selection was a highlight. For tips, I'd come ready to share several small plates and take advantage of the wine program. Since the room can get busy, expect a more energetic experience during peak times rather than a quiet dinner. This is a good fit for date night, catching up with friends, or anyone who enjoys wine, cheese boards, and a lively downtown San Clemente setting. The only small drawback is that the busier atmosphere may not be ideal if you are looking for a calm, intimate meal.

Came here for drinks and appies with my husband while my daughter was at a local event. Have been wanting to stop in and try this place and so glad we did! The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Great recommendations - especially the limoncello cake to finish off with. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the busy San Clemente evening with the setting sun and beach breeze. Great drinks, good food - perfect night!

Still a go too location in San Clemente, I recently had brunch there which is served until 2pm and it was amazing! Perfectly cooked eggs, fresh bread and a great menu. The wine flights and bubbles are flowing and the cheese boards a must!

This was nothing short of an incredible brunch experience. We were sad there were no seats outdoors, but then were immediately appeased by the AMAZING vibe indoors with live music and a hilarious interactive musician. Our server was very nice and led us right by telling us to order the lavender latte and French toast. That was the best French toast I've ever had. The ceviche was also bomb. Everyone else had similarly great experiences with their food. Loved this and hope to be back someday.

What a wonderful experience! My husband has been urging us to visit after moving back to San Clemente after 10 years, and I'm glad we finally did! It was a busy evening with Rabbi Blue, and what a performer, and a seemingly wonderful human. He and the band brought an infectious vibe that we will return for. Despite being super busy, our server was super efficient and effortlessly served all her tables. The charcuterie and cheese boards are extremely well prepared and expertly curated. Each meat or cheese had a perfect accoutrement and each was expertly described when delivered to the table (not that I remember all the details, but very impressive). The ribeye for main seemed simple but had incredible depth of flavour.

If you're in San Clemente, The Cellar is an absolute must. The cheeseboard is incredible, beautifully curated with the perfect pairing of cheeses and accompaniments. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, and the fries were some of the best I've had. Honestly, every single thing we ordered was outstanding. Add in the cozy atmosphere and friendly service, and it's easy to see why this place is such a local favorite. I can't wait to come back!

We love The Cellar! Whether it's a quick iced latte pick me up (their housemade lavender caramel is divine) or a moody date night, their service and ambiance are definitely on top. I love bringing friends here for a cute gals night or just enjoying a solo date on the patio. They're so festive right now with all the cute decor but I love them year round! Always impeccable menu options and fantastic service. The carrot cake is delicious! Parking is along Del Mar and some back lots along the street.

Holly Molly this burrito is so good. Perfect flavor, just when I thought the cellar couldn't get any better. Must stop in for brunch or their eclectic hour

My husband and I went here for a date (my one day off!), and this place is AMAZING. Great food. Great service. Great Atmosphere. I would definitely recommend if you like food and wine. Thanks to The Cellar! And by the way, Tanner is awesome!

Wow I absolutely loved this place! Parking is along the street and it can get busy so account for time to park. My friend& I had brunch so we sat outside which was so cute. Inside looked lovely as well. Service was fast & friendly. To drink I got the French 75 which was perfect, for appetizers we had the truffle popcorn which was one of the best I've had, for mains we got the burrata salad with salmon & the breakfast sandwich with sidewinder fries which were both excellent. Will definitely be coming back.

Cute little place for breakfast or lunch right in downtown San Clemente. We got mimosas for $12/each which was reasonably priced, and the chilaquilas were delicious and the perfect amount for the both of us to share. Service was great and we sat in the outside tables by the street. It was wonderful!

Caesar Salad and SideWinder Fries

The Cellar is the best spot in town! Great place to grab food and a drink, they have live music and the ambiance is great! Definitely will be ordering the Ceaser salad and fries again! gluten free friendly place if you have celiac.

Red wine flight and outdoor seating at the Cellar.

Love this place! Adorable spot in San Clemente on Del Mar with indoor and outdoor seating. We tried a red wine flight, cheese board, gnocchi macaroni and cheese and burger. Everything was excellent, from the food to the service to the atmosphere. The prices were great too, I was actually surprised by how affordable the food was. An extensive wine and cheese list that is worthy of just a visit for that but a great menu for a nice lunch or dinner as well. Parking on Del Mar or around the back behind the businesses - 3 hours free.

Do you have Vegan options?

We do have salads that are vegan as well as our hummus with fresh vegetables. Truffle popcorn is vegan as well as well. Please inform your server so they can make adjustments where needed.

To the Owner/Manager, Do you serve organic produce?

We do have a new menu coming out next week and we will have organic produce featured in most of the salads. We also have natural & organic wines and artisanal raw milk cheeses...

Are you guys not serving breakfast and coffee anymore?

They claim they do have coffee, its listed on their website, but they have made the blunder of not putting it on their in-person menus

I've attended their trivia nights, and they were a blast--well organized, engaging, and a perfect activity for a group of friends. The drinks are fantastic. On my most recent visit, I had the opportunity to beta test one of their murder mystery events, and it was such a unique and entertaining experience. It added a whole new level of fun to the evening and made for a memorable night out. If they offer the murder mystery event again, I highly recommend checking it out. You get to select your own wine from their list to try at your own pace. Each time we went back for our next selection, the lovely ladies at the bar were always friendly and delightful. We wished to order the charcuterie box, but they were out, so we went with the Mediterranean board and beef empanadas served with chimichurri sauce - I'd order both again. Their happy hour is very generous, with a BOGO on drinks. Being right on the Harbor wharf, there was a slight breeze which was a welcome relief after the heatwaves the last couple of weeks. Everyone is very knowledgeable and shares little tidbits about the wine while you enjoy. A few Suggestions / observations: 1. The self service wine area has a massive wine display that limits access to patrons who are there. A thin long belly bar would make it much more social and accessible. Constantly feel like I am bumping into people or wine bottles just to grab a taster then standing in a corner to get out of the way. 2. The massive LED tv's would be so nice if there was nature or a beach scene or something to set the ambiance. Having a massive advertisement of an appetizer stock photo and happy hour fliers illuminating half the store is not enjoyable, they could be utilized in a much nicer format. 3. Would love to see even more of the self serve wine tasting dispensers in the future! They are a hit and are such a fun concept.
