My wife and I ate again at CD Cafe. It was jammed at Sunday lunch, but the waitresses and the kitchen staff were hustling. She had the goat cheese appetizer as her lunch entree. I had what may have been the best ever crab cake. Gigantic lumps of crab meat sauteed on a grill, not fried. R-e-a-l expensive, but worth it. If you want the typical beach fried food, try the places down on the river walk. But if you want a variety of Mediterranean style dishes in a very pleasant atmosphere, give Cathie and Dottie a try. read more

A bit pricey, but the location is fantastic and the service was great so for overall I think it was worth it for what it was. The veggie burger was good, and that was very affordable, but I wish they had a vegetarian entree also. There was one pasta dish that seemed like it might be, but wasn't marked with their vegetarian symbol, and it had no protein and was a bit expensive so I didn't bother asking. I don't even have that much to say because everyone has said everything. Went here twice - once for dinner & once for lunch. My first experience was dinner. I was staying up the road and called to see what time they closed on a Sunday night. The guy on the phone told me 9:30pm. I went around 8:30pm or so. After talking to be for a few minutes, my waiter asked if I was the person who had just called. He said that he accidentally said 9:30pm when they actually close at 9:00pm. He felt bad and tried to figure out a way to get back in touch with me. I thought that was really nice. That being said - I only had about a 1/2 hour to eat - but I never, ever, ever felt rushed. There was a woman playing keyboard & singing which was kind of cool. I got the Popeye Burger - which had some amazing cheese and the Green Goddess (made in-house!) dressing on it. OH. MY. GOD. I couldn't put it down but I also didn't want to finish it. It was so good. Definitely top ten burgers. It came with a caesar salad which was also delicious (see picture). I got the apple maple cake thingie to go which was good. All their desserts are made in-house. For lunch I got the CD salad which was awesome. Chicken on top of salad with their Green Goddess dressing. All the staff are so, so, so friendly. If you're ever in the area - it's a must visit!! read more

Awesome meal last night. I had the breaded pork tenderloin special with mashed red pepper potatoes and asparagus. Others at the table ordered the Asian wrap, seafood pasta special and buffalo chick wrap. Everyone loved the food. Dessert is pretty awesome with crime brûlée and a salted Carmel pretzel brownie sundae. The place is small so you might have to wait on a table. We are visiting family here is Maryland and after more than a few people saying we needed to take a date night and had to try CD cafe, we decided to go! A stopped into the next door lounge and had cocktails. The red sangria was great! The service was fantastic and the bartender let us know when our table was ready. The cafe is cozy but it wasn't too crowded at all. The menu had a good variety and they had a great dessert menu! The food came out so fast and tasted delicious! It did not disappoint and lived up to the reviews and recommendations! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great place to eat. I had to eat something before heading to the Tiki bar opening, so I stopped in to the CD cafe with my best friend for an early dinner. Service was friendly, our waitress was attentive even though they were busy. I ordered the crab cake dinner with garlic mashed potatoes, and my friend ordered the burger. My crab cake was pretty good, but my potatoes probably could have been a little more creamy. My friend enjoyed the burger. Overall, everything was very tasty, and I wouldn't mind going back the next time I'm in town. 4 Stars! read more

I usually do not put ratings on these sites but this place deserves it. I have been in The Solomons for a week. The first nite in the Solomons we went to CD Cafe. The food was fantastic. After a week of eating at other establishments in the area, we decided to go back. I had a special Artic Char fish. The fish was wonderful but the flavors the chef put around fish made the dish. This place has first class food. My wife had the Padi Thai which is a regular item on there menu. I tasted the dish at it was wonderful. I highly recommend CD Cafe. read more

Amazing food! We planned to take home leftovers once we saw the menu. We started with the lump crab risotto and napoleon appetizers. The chef clearly knows how to pair flavors. The risotto was creamy and the cranberries added a touch of sweet. Fabulous. The Napoleon (slices of tenderloin with boursin cheese) could easily be an entree it was that good and was quickly devoured. The appetizer size left you wanting more! The curry chicken salad in a pita didn't disappoint either. My husband's burger was exceptional as well and the fries delicious. This would be a regular stop if we lived in the area. read more

This was a total find...on Yelp. We attended a family event in the morning and were looking for an off-the-beaten-path place that wasn't a chain. Other than the reviews we had no knowledge of it, but afterward we are big fans and will taut this place for anyone looking for absolutely great food! I had curried chicken salad on pita and it came with a side salad. I've been eating curried chicken salad from Whole Foods for years and this was even better. I could eat this every day. It was the perfect balance of curry (not overly curried) with crushed walnuts and grapes. Delicious! My folks each had salads that they said were amazing. So go go go go GO! very very cute inside I went with my sister, our friend and her family for dessert. We were moved to the cafe in the back (more for dessert, wine, tea/coffee, etc) and the service was just AMAZING! The guy who greeted us accommodated our group of 6 and was so so so nice! We each ordered a dessert. We went there for our friend's 21st bday and he brought out the flourless chocolate cake with a candle and even sang for her :) the flourless chocolate cake is different from what I'm use to.. This was really really good. I also liked the key lime pie, creme brulee, and blueberry sour cream crumble? We also ordered the bread pudding which was also popular and the mounds cake (it's like a mounds bar but cake version). I cannot wait to go here again when I'm back in Solomons, MD. read more

First, let me say the CD Cafe is very accommodating to Gluten Intolerance folks. They have many GF entrees on their menu and can make some of their daily specials GF upon request. The food is AMAZING!!! I had the Sunday brunch pork steamed tamales with eggs, savory, smokey refried beans (yum). My wife had the salmon eggs Benedict with peach chutney (modified GF). The service was outstanding, so friendly and, again, always gluten accommodating. We will be back in two weeks for dinner and are so looking forward to that foody encounter! read more

2.5 Stars. A friend of ours recommended this place & with all the positive reviews, it didn't seem like a bad place to hit up while we were down at Solomon's Island. Appetizer - Mussels were horrible (old, mushy, and not even close to fresh. I almost yacked while eating so I just had to stop). Neopolitan Pizza was bbq sauce, onions and dry chicken. Entree - Steak (marinade was good but meat was dry and not marinated at all; the sauce was thrown on over). The basil pesto pasta with shrimp & scallop I got was undercooked pasta with almost like a white-wine sauce reduction you steam mussels in - Not good at all. Dessert - A nestle drumstick with 2 "extra" scoops of ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce - All for a whopping $6. So 2 appetizers, 2 drinks, 2 entrees, 1 dessert, and a $100 later made me feel like I should've at least enjoyed my meal. Seats about 40 people with a "bar" 2 doors down to wait for your table. Waitress was nice but the place felt very "for Causcasian only." Mediocre food. Not for foodies. read more

Cute and cozy restaurant tucked in to Solomon's island. We had the special-tuna on a bed of Israeli couscous and kale. It was topped with two delectable shrimp. Delish! I had to fight my children off of the shrimp. What can I say? They know good food. We also had amazing New England clam chowder. Definitely get the New England clam chowder. They make their own ice tea. You can have it sweetened or unsweetened. The staff was charming and very nice. Plenty of parking behind the building. Tip: Save room for dessert. I'm a local Calvert County resident, so I've been to Solomon's Island quite frequently. I had not, however visited this place until today. My mother raves about this place so we took her for her birthday. Solomon's waterfront views are awesome as you enter. This place is across the street from the waterfront. Easy seating for a group of 4 at lunchtime. I would imagine this place is not very suited for large groups though. They had a specials board for lunch. I ordered the chorizo/cheese soup as an appetizer. It was excellent! Great pieces of spicy sausage and potatoes with vegetables. Very good flavor. I thoroughly enjoyed the pork and shrimp pad Thai lunch special. It was $26, so I almost didn't order it, as I thought that was pretty expensive for lunch. However, I did and it was phenomenal! Pork slices were tender and well seasoned, and the shrimp was tasty and not overdone. The pad Thai noodles and veggies were perfect. It came in a generous portion (probably enough for two people) but this fat boy ate it all and followed with the Key lime pie dessert! Great first impression, but was a little expensive for lunch. They did have other options in the $10-$15 range. My uncle likes the crab cake sandwich. For a Marylander, that's a big compliment! Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area. Had the buffalo chicken wrap. Usually I'm hesitant to anything with buffalo sauce because it can be very heavy... this wrap was amazing. It was filled with melted cheese and had a nice herb flavor. We were leaving Solomon's Island when I spotted this place serving espresso and pastries, so we pulled over to get some dessert. We actually ate in the Nextdoor lounge section. The hostesses for both CD Cafe and Nextdoor were very friendly. The lounge was very cozy and they spaced the tables out to maintain social distancing. Our desserts and boozy coffees were delicious! I would love to return there the next time I'm in Solomon's Island to try more of their food and drinks. read more

I had a raspberry cheese cake and my friend had a chocolate peanut butter mousse cheese cake I think but his was better than mine. But still both very delicious. It wasn't too sweet but just right for my taste. I live when coffees aren't watered down and that was perfect with some honey it was great! We are but it was so good we wanted to try their food so we orders crab cake sandwich with a side of salad and the salad was so yummy! I wish I had better pictures of our meals but I was halfway through with my food before I began this review! I would come to this place at least once every week last summer, the staff and food is still as great as it was then maybe even better. I often come as a pair or the occasional group. Despite the small limited area, they always have the room to accommodate. The staff and management are friendly, know their menu items and are quick to tend to their tables. As for the food, it is simply delicious and worth the price it is served for. I regularly order the filet, always cooked in the correct temperature and their choice of the vegetable of the day somehow always seems to compliment the whole dish itself. The mushroom peppercorn sauce works perfectly as a dressing for the stake and as well as a gravy for the mashed potatoes. I wish I could have the room to finish it all! The selection of desserts is always changing and always have a variety of delicious treats. I've never ordered for dessert for myself but my colleagues have ordered for themselves, items like the apple pie, cheesecake and lava cake. I only had a bite or two from these desserts and they were the perfect topping to an excellent meal. read more
