The best store ever! They have the best selection of drinks and best prices. Great location in a great area with a ton of parking. The customer service is phenomenal! I've been coming here for years and I will get all my drink needs from here. This is a gem in our neighborhood and I love it! The my have the best people working here and best owners read more

Walked in and quickly needed a couple bottles of wine or a gift. The gentleman that works here quickly pointed me to a couple incredible wines that were also beautifully packaged. Before leaving he also put me onto some awesome Japanese whiskey I've never heard of. Really appreciate that level of customer service and will certainly swing back in here next time I'm in the area and in need of some quality intoxicating beverages. read more

Rude and racist. Do not support this business. Came here looking for a bottle of Cab. I tell the guy working there (I think his name is Mike) that, and the first thing he says is "we don't carry a lot of low price point stuff." The moment I walked in I could just feel he wanted me out of there as soon as possible. He shows me one option without saying anything about the body or the notes, basically take it or leave it. I go to check out, he asks for my card and ID which I hand to him, as any respectable person would. He looks at my ID then tosses it on the counter towards me like it's a frisbee, does the same with my debit card. Bags the wine and then rushes to douse his hands in hand sanitizer. Class A blatant racism. read more

The guy who runs the place is super nice and helpful and they have a great selection of Kosher Alchohol. Would recomend to anyone!

Great place in pico to have many options of whiskey have a nice small party room in the back also..

I checked this place out at lunch, today, based on the online selection they display on their website. I don't think they had a single bottle in stock that they listed. I was told they're remodeling, so their stock is limited. You might say that. Maybe 25 bottles of whisky, total. Got some lame excuse about how Google doesn't update their website or something. Okay. But I headed over there to buy a specific bottle, and not only do you not have it, or many other choices, but you don't do anything to retain my business? Too bad. I collect scotch, bourbon, and wine. I buy a ton of it. And my company just moved to the neighborhood. Missed opportunity for them, I guess. I won't be returning. read more

Honestly I don't know what to do here. I hate to write a bad review for a newish, independently owned shop, but there are a lot of things wrong with the Cask. I REALLY wanted to love the place. I finally stopped in on a weekday. Mike, the owner was there. I was really excited to chat him up, as in a former life I was married to someone who kept kosher so I drank and tasted a lot of kosher wine. Now, I'm not trying to be a snob, but when I asked about specific wines, not only did the owner not seem interested in chatting (there wasn't anyone else in store when I got there), he also didn't seem to be familiar with any of the simple wine terms I was using (I was asking about the oak and the mouthfeel), therefore rendering his help in picking a wine completely useless. Additionally, he highly recommended (nearly promising I'd love it even after I told him my reservations about chardonnay) a chardonnay (Odem Mountain Volcanic Chardonnay 2010) that bills itself as dry, but upon opening was WAYYYYYY over extracted, oaky, and most oddly--sweet. I mean really sweet. Like that gross blue-bottle moscato that your grandma drinks at Passover kinda sweet. A total waste of $20+ bucks. This is all topped off by the fact that there are *31* (seriously) filtered reviews for the shop, nearly all of which have only 1-3 reviews, perhaps because a yelper wrote a quick tip stating "Free bottles of wine for a rave review on Yelp!". That's a clear violation of Yelp's terms of service (read part 6 a if you don't believe me). It's too bad, too, because the space is really nice and there's a great-looking tasting room in the back. Perhaps if the folks who work there/own it spend some time learning about their products and stop compensating people for reviews, I'll return. Until then, I think my 2nd stars are generous. read more

I went the The Cask tonight for their grand opening and was very impressed! They have a great selection especially with Israeli wines. The owners Sivan and Mike are great people who are always willing to help out their customers in any way they can. The Scotch selection is aMAYzing too!!! Who needs BEVMO when you can go to THE CASK!!! read more

Great selection and fair prices Michael is a gem I was looking for a salted caramel infused vodka and they carry it Check out their little party room in the back of the store read more

Clean and slick looking store. They have a nice selection of wines but note they are all Kosher wines. The alcohol selection is not very big but they have top shelf bottles including scotch, bourbon and tequila. Prices are reasonable but no big sales. Nice place to spend an hour looking at wines and trying something new. read more

Interesting idea for a hip liquor store but I don't know that it really works. They have some selections but not everything you could or might be looking for. Not certain if I was dealing with the owner or the help there but had some attitude. They do have parking in the back but not certain (especially if you are lady) that you really want to park in a seedy looking alley. the street parking is there but of course you have to plug a meter over and over again. They also sponsor events but I have heard from a friend that they are tight on the pouring and leave early(these are not always free events!!) Check it out and use your own judgement here. read more

While visiting from Philadelphia I stopped by The Cask, twice -- that's how great it is! The wine selection is wonderful - lots of vintages I had not seen before with a wide price range. I also bought a fantastic bottle of Scotch, based on the recommendation of the staff. It is a beautiful store, great service and your purchase is handed to you in an elegant gift bag. I've been telling all my LA friends to buy their wine and spirits there. Support Small Business!!!! read more

I am the owner of BarTime and have been in business for 12 years. It's unfortunate that Mike, the owner, who is very professional has gotten bad reviews. I've gone to Mike a few times to purchase Kosher wines when I was in a jam and Mike has always been easy to deal with. The clients that I have can be very particular and Mike has always taken the time to give me good advice on which wines I should purchase. At the end of the day, The Cask is an easy, professional nice store with a great lay out and great atmosphere. I would definitely send anyone that would ever need wine or for that matter Kosher wine to The Cask. read more

Went here just after their opening b/c I live in the neighborhood and I love wine. It's a great little niche business they'e got here. Kosher wine and spirits in this area will have to be a success!! The owner was nice enough to spend about 20 minutes talking to me and showing me around the store. They were also in the process of building out their tasting room as well as a wine storage area. The gentleman there helped me pick out a nice sauvignon blanc for a family lunch and it was delicious. I will definitely be back for some wine tasting as well as to try some new and interesting kosher wines. A great neighborhood shop! read more

This place has a really great selection of wines as well as liquor, and their prices are on par with the large chains. However, the one thing you'll find here that you won't get anywhere else as the great individualized customer service. The cask is my go to whenever I need a good bottle for any occasion. read more

Amazing place Especially that I like my Argentinian wine and my Spanish wine And they always have exactly what I want. The best thing is that they have the most amazing customer services that it's hard for me to resist to go in Do read more

I really try to buy here. They have a bigger and more interesting selection of Kosher wines to bring as gifts to those who observe than does a typical liquor chain. The guy who is usually there is knowledgable but not friendly at all. Also the hours are a bit unpredictable. read more

Good service, happen to need something on a Monday and Micheal very kindly helped me by letting me swing by to pick up a bottle even though the store was actually closed. Great selection and cool store. read more

Remarkably uptight staff for a new store with a lot of local competition. I saw this new store in my neighborhood, and decided to stop in. I found an interesting rum that I wanted to try that was around $15.00. I get to the counter and want to pay by credit card, clerk asks for my ID, and then refuses to sell to me because my ID is expired (I'm 45). Now I could understand this if I was 22 or was buying a $190 bottle of scotch... but I'm bought booze with this ID and my credit card at just about every liquor store west of Fairfax. I have never had a clerk give me 'tude about my ID, even at stores in high crime areas, like along venice blvd, or chain stores with strict termination policies in regards to under age sales (such as Walgreen's, Ralphs, BevMo). If you want a good selection without an attitude, try one of the other much more friendly merchants in our neighborhood such as Bargain City, Vendome, or Beverly Hills liquor. read more

They do not stick to their closing hours. Guy does pretty much what he want. Bad customer service! read more

Come here all the time to get bottles of nice whiskey for the holidays. This place has great customer service ! U can legit find all those bottles u have a hard time finding at other liqueur stores over here :) read more

I see the unfortunate reviews and I feel bad for the owner. This is a cute shop that caters to a very niche market granted. I found the staff to be nice. I don't know my wines so I can't say what the review might be if I had queried about specific bouquets... I have attended more than one wine tasting here and found them homey and familial (read intimate). I found a wine I liked that I brought to my first Sadder. I'll go back for a wine tasting again. read more

Pretty great selection at pretty decent prices. They can usually source whatever you'd like. Although, to point out, I have at times been able to just purchase the wine directly from winery for cheaper. Depending on how much you're buying it is worth looking into. For one or two bottles though, this is the place. read more

Finally, Just what LA needed. A kosher wine spot. This place is great!!!

If you're looking for Kosher wine, or just a nice bottle of wine, this is the place to go. The owner is incredibly helpful, the space is beautiful and the selection is great. Don't expect to get a $3.99 bottle of wine here. Also loved the canvas wine bag - perfect way to present the bottle to your hostess. read more

This is a great wine store. Very much needed in this part of town. They have a great range, and the owners are super nice and know how to help you pick a good bottle for any meal or occasion. I haven't been to one yet, but they have a fab room for wine tastings (evidently happens on Tuesdays). A little gem in the Pico/Robertson 'hood. read more

They are amazing!! I totally forgot it was my boss's birthday. I gave them a call and they knew just what she likes and they delivered it to me too! Amazing!!! read more

Excellent selection, beautiful decor and very helpful staff. I love that they give you the wine in a gift bag making it a very convenient place to pick up a bottle as a gift. read more

Best spot in town for personalized service in a classy atmosphere. This is not your local liquor store people; this is a must stop for your next pick up. The Delivery service doesn't hurt either! read more

I went in with my brother in-law to buy a bottle of bourbon. Michael (the owner?) spent more than 10min with us chatting about his selection and helping us come to the right answer. I learned about whiskey and left very happy. I plan to go back. read more

Finding high quality wine in Los Angeles is difficult. While Baron Herzog is plentiful, it's hard to locate a good selection of quality wines from outside of California. Enter the Cask. The selection is excellent, the proprietor is helpful and knowledgeable. There is a small selection of high quality single malts and other spirits. It's a great place to pick up a quality bottle of scotch in a pinch. The Cask also has pimptastic bags for your purchased items. read more

Wow... Talk about RUDE!!! it is three working days before passover and I called The Cask to see if they had a low alcohol wine that I wanted to use at my Seder Table. The person who answered the phone was beyond curt and rude. He was "Ya... what do you want" Well, they didn't have my wine by the case and good thing too - as I wouldn't have purchased it after being treated like that!! I always try to support local companies. In this case, I will take my business elsewhere. First impressions are everything - even perhaps if they were busy - no reason to be rude. read more

I went there on a Friday at 2:30 and the door was locked. I knocked on the window because I really just wanted to get one bottle for a gift and be quickly on my way. The guy inside just looked at me with a dirty look and proceeded to walk away. If you are closing earlier than posted hours, put up a sign. I won't be back read more

Just moved into the neighborhood and stumbled into The Cask. My husband loves whiskey and found the selection to be much broader and smartly curated than most shops this size. Michael, who was so nice and helpful, suggested a wonderful wine for me. All in all a great experience. We can't wait to go back! read more

Coming from the Washington DC area, where there's limited choices for kosher wine consumers, I really wanted to visit The Cask in my last trip to LA. I thought that the store was nice, with a good selection of interesting wines that I can't get at home. I bought a Bravdo Shiraz, which I served at Shabbat dinner with lamb-stuffed mini peppers, and it was a hit. I did not have the problem that some of the other reviewers had, of not knowing what to buy, since I really love Israeli wines. I felt that I had a better knowledge of many of the better wineries than the store guy did, on the day I was there. The wine guy over at Glatt seemed more knowledgeable, when I was wine shopping there. (Hey, I'm probably moving to LA soon - maybe I should apply for a job!? ) but bottom line, I like to support stores that carry a good selection of kosher wines - especially Israeli ones - so I will go back there again. Especially if they have a tasting when I'm in town! read more

Bought some wine and a gift certificate yesterday. Could not be more pleased with the service. Owner Mike was extremely helpful and courteous. Their selection is outstanding...not just because their wines are Kosher. Looking forward to the installation of their automated tasting equipment. Excellent all around experience. read more

Went in today to browse their scotch selection, which is quite impressive (and growing). Owner was knowledgeable and guided me to some rather nuanced variations to add to my collection. We took some time to talk scotch, and he gave me an invitation to an upcoming tasting event at the SLS. Overall a great experience, and will be returning. read more

Asked my wife to stop by there and pick up a bottle of wine for a party we were attending. She came home with a great bottle of Shiraz that the owner had recommended in the price range that she had given him. Knowing that it was for a special occasion he included a Cask wine bag. She was very pleased with the entire shopping experience. read more

Luxury and beyond! Well done my friend surpass the few Ive seen back east.
