This store has a great selection of wine, craft beer, and spirits. The folks here are very knowledgeable and helpful. Of the times I've been in the place has been pretty quiet and chill. I think that's slightly a function of parking and how many people can actually be inside the store at once. But overall, this place should cover your craft beer, wine, and spirits needs. I've been going here for years. I went more frequently when my friends and I were meeting up more often to drink beers and whiskey, but I've been cutting back on the purchasing since we're not drinking as much. I still like to come by once in a while to see what they have on hand. My latest visit was to find a nice bottle of wine for someone's birthday. The gentleman in the store pointed me in the right direction. I always appreciate their help. In terms of parking, there's actually a parking lot in the back, but it's not huge. For those of you who are not 21 years old, like myself, this review is not about a liquor store. It is about the hidden gem of a sandwich shop located in the back of the store behind a fine selection of chips, cookies, and other side items, which is worth perusing. This is a gem that is definitely worth finding. On the day I visited, the man working the sandwich counter was friendly and made our food very fast, five minutes for three sandwiches! That's impressive. All the deli meats and toppings were incredibly fresh, as were the selection of freshly baked rolls and breads. I ate an Italian sandwich, which was filling and delicious. I have tried some different red wines here, and I like how the guys here answer all my questions. There is a pretty cheap organic California brand they carry here called bon terra that I have bought a few times here and I have liked it. I have also learned that I like any California brand of petite Syrah red wine here. I also like to buy a lottery ticket now and then here. Vendome is an institution worthy of a movie being written about it. It has been around forever and I have been going there since I was a kid to get one of their amazing sandwiches at the deli. The same people working there when I was a kid work there today and the sandwiches haven't changed a bit, which is one of those things that don't come around all that often. The entire staff is so diverse and unique that again, it is like a movie with unique characters. There are some folks I could sit and talk with for hours and others that I haven't said a word to and don't recognize me despite how long I have been coming there. Both equally add to the charm. Some employees legitimately have become life long friends of mine. None of that info is likely helpful to anyone wondering whether this is a good place to buy liquor, but I suppose that is the point. This isn't a BevMo or a Total Wine where you would go looking for a large selection and cheap prices. This is a relatively large neighborhood liquor store with a fantastic deli and a staff that makes going here an experience and not just a boring chore. Substantively, they have a curated selection of beer, wine and liquor that makes it a worthy trip. They have so much wine and a lot of older vintages. Their liquor selection is reasonably large and they have everything from the "big name brands" to much smaller brands if you are looking for something different. They also have a large selection of rare and allocated spirits, but they aren't cheap. The beer section, however, is what makes Vendome special. Vendome has been selling craft beer for longer than almost any other liquor store in Los Angeles. Their original beer buyer, Long, was a deeply connected and knowledgable craft beer drinker and always had something fantastic, new, and hard to find waiting for you. This store truly is a pioneer in craft beer package sales in Los Angeles and those who have been drinking good beer for a long time in Los Angeles will attest to that. Still today, they carry on that legacy as the tradition is in their bones. I half-jokingly recommend my friends dig around on the low shelves and behind bottles because you never know when you will stumble upon a stout or sour from four years ago that is perfectly aged. Overall, if you are looking for a one of kind liquor store with deep roots in the community a large selection for a smaller store, this is your spot. It is worthy of making a trip to. Don't leave without a sandwich either (Chicken Guadalupe all day). The prices are not competitive with a corporate liquor store but you won't get this experience at a corporate store and this is a family-owned business that appreciates its customers. read more

Visited on 10/07/2018 Jimmy gave excellent service. Although they did not have what I was looking for Jimmy was extremely friendly and helpful. He gave me suggestions as to what would be the most similar. I took Jimmy up on his suggestion and was pleasantly surprised. The prices were on point, (it is in Beverly Hills). I would highly recommend going to Vendome if you have a party that you are throwing and need a wide selection of wines and liquors. They have nearly everything and if they don't have it, Jimmy will help you find it! Vendome is the former Blockbuster Video, so it is huge! You can call and see if they have what you want, and if they don't what would they suggest. There is plenty of street parking. read more

This place is awesome. We came in just to grab a few quick bottles, and instead, ended up staying for an HOUR talking to employees and getting suggestions. I won't pretend I know a lot about beer. I don't. However, a friend I was with (who is much more into beer and breweries) was blown away by their craft beer selection. Christian overheard us and came over excitedly with a ton of suggestions. I believe he handles the craft beer selection at the store, and he was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. We left more than an hour later with multiple bottles in tow (sorry for staying late, Jimmy!). I rarely buy beer, but even I walked out with a few bourbon barrel-aged stouts, which I never even knew existed. Their whiskey selection was pretty impressive too and had some rare varieties, so I'll have to come back and check it out. The store doesn't look like much at first, but go inside and you'll be pleasantly surprised. Considering that it's in Beverly Hills, prices are very reasonable and parking is easy (they have a lot in the back). Spoke with Vic who was rude and asked if I could order through the website which requires you to open an account and isn't updated. Asked him if I could order with him (should be noted, he's the guy who they put me in contact with who handles deliveries), and could almost hear his disdain over the phone. When I asked about the 2 items from THEIR website, showing 6-10 items in stock, both were unavailable. When I asked if they're website was updated, he said, "there's nothing I can do about the website." He couldn't care less. I don't mind the lack of product or even a bristly employee. Not impressed. Selection is great, but incredibly surprised at how much the pricing and markup is so much higher than their Fullerton location. For instance, I picked up a bottle of Stagg Jr in Fullerton last week for $69.99 . Here, that same bottle and batch number is $129.99 . Take another bottle, for example: Macallan Rare Cask. This bottle retails for $120-130 and can be readily found, includIng at their Fullerton location at msrp. Heavens forbid, however, if it would be anywhere near msrp at this store, however. Here, that same bottle is $349. Take, as a very last example, pouilly-fuissé Louis jadot wine. Msrp is $19, but here it sells for $34. Now I have not had their deli, nor did I bother looking at their beer selection, but come on. I'd highly recommend Blackbeard's in Sawtelle for beer, at very honest prices. I'd go there any day of the week if I wanted beer instead. I suppose if you're into their deli and it isn't overpriced like the other stuff, or if you just don't care to price shop, come here. I'm sure their rent is high for the location, but annoyed at the inconsistency in pricing between locations; especially where one location prices much closer to msrp and is just as helpful. read more

Every once in while, I like to check out the inventory of stores "over the hill" to see the selection I might find. Just like Wally's in West LA, Vendome in Beverly Hills carries many hard to find beers. To find these beers, all you have to do ask. Some might be hidden behind the counter or hidden in the back. You might even find them out on display and you just need guidance from their beer experts. Today, I purchased some Bourbon County, Russian River Supplication, Bruery retired Preservation Series She Goat, and a bottle of Parabola. Highly recommend a visit to check out the great selection here. I found the craft beer selection here to be different from the two Vendome locations in Toluca Lake and Studio City. This is the best place to buy alcohol. If you want beer from a microbrewery or booze from an obscure distillery halfway across the planet, Vendome either already carries it or will order it for you. This particular store stocks a wide selection of imported kosher wines as it caters to the local Jewish community. It also provides the best selection of gourmet non-alcohol beers. A top notch liquor store! If you need some wine or a bottle of alcohol they have you covered! But what I love is the little deli in the back! They make such good sandwiches and it's quick and easy! My favorite is the smoked california turkey... smoked turkey breast with cheddar cheese, thousand island dressing and lettuce on a wheat roll ! My favorite side is their potato salad! The best beer selection in all of Los Angeles! The staff are super friendly and knowledgable of the beer and wine they carry. On top of all of that their prices are amazing and some of the best I've seen around town. Whenever I need beer or wine this is always my go to.
