We originally just stopped in for a coffee but we couldn't help but reserve some time in the cat lounge after seeing all the cuties in the window. The cafe side is a small but cozy and offers a couple of tables & chairs with great window views into the cat lounge. You are able to reserve one hour time slots ranging in price from $10.50 on weekdays and $15.00-$17.25 on weekends. They do offer a Happy Hour (1 - 5pm Tuesday - Thursday) where you can pay $3.50 for 15 minutes at a time! All of the cats are available for adoption and they have up to 30 cats in the lounge! We didn't get many pictures because we were lucky enough to get chosen for cuddle time by one of the cats. The staff were very welcoming and both of our coffees were delicious! I absolutely love the idea of a cat café. I visited on a Saturday evening, which means it was less busy. Even so there were quite a bit of people on the cat side. We did not make reservations, but because it was a less busy time were able to go in. It cost $15 per person because it was a weekend day. On the weekdays it is about five dollars cheaper. you pay for an hour, but the hour starts at the beginning of the hour regardless of when you arrive. For us, we arrived at 6:20 PM but still had to leave at seven because the hour started at 6 PM. it's not a perfect system. there were quite a few kitties that were playful, but honestly, the space seemed a little bit small for how many cats were there, even if there were a lot of towers and places they could go. The way to order the coffee was a little bit long, even though there was only one person in front of us, and the coffee did take a while to be made as well. I would definitely recommend going here if you're looking to adopt and want to explore different cats with different personalities. There are so many great ones waiting for a home here. Make sure to arrive as close to the hours you can so you can actually be there for the full hour you pay for. read more

My family really loves this place so I leave this review with regret. On Friday my 7 year old kid had the day off so she asked if she could go to Cafe Meow as a special outing. Of course we said yes: we love the mission of Cafe Meow and who doesnt like hanging out with kitties! I went online to make a reservation and saw that there were two options available: one for ages 11+, and another for 7-10. I thought, weird, maybe its for a kids discount? The box for 7-10 was greyed out, but I could still select 2 for general admission, and the price was the same either way so I assumed there was a bug in the website. I clicked all the disclaimers, paid, and showed up for my reservation. When we arrived to check in however the staff informed us that there were already the maximum number of children for that time slot, and my child would not be allowed to enter. They then told us they couldnt offer a refund and instead told us to email their business email. When I went back to look at the website I did see that the policy regarding how many kids were allowed at a time was stated on the site. Unfortunately it is buried in a long list, no highlights, no differentiation from other items like "No running" or "Use inside voices". Same with the disclaimers: yes, I take the blame for not reading them carefully. I did not argue when they turned away my child: I shouldve read before clicking. When I emailed the business email for a refund, however, they refused to offer a refund, even though there are no warnings on the confirmation page that say admission will be refused if there are too many kids. Again, I assumed the only reason I couldn't pick "Kids" as an option was because of a website error, and I also assumed that the reason for the two options was for a kids discount. Since the price was the same I did not think twice about just selecting 2 General Admission tickets. Obviously I know better now. I dont take any issue with the staff turning us away. The kitties need to have a max number of kids. But to not offer a refund for an honest mistake is very disappointing and will make me reconsider ever returning to this location. PS I get that a refund means a loss of $20 for the business since someone else couldn't enter. But right after we were turned away a couple showed up wanting to purchase entry at the door and they were turned away as well, even though we had just cleared two spots. This is a problem. Customers clear their days to come to your location. We are making sacrifices too to patronize your business. I think the staff on site should be empowered to provide onsite customer service instead of directing customers to an email. read more

Holy cats! How have I never been here living in such close proximity? Let it be clear, I am not a cat person, but Cafe Meow makes me want to be (even though I am allergic). I really like the entire concept here and the parking situation is easy. Due to my allergies, I usually can't spend a lot of time in places like these, however, Cafe Meow keeps the cats 100% separated from the cafe allowing me to enjoy the space, games, peaceful atmosphere and coffee. There is natural lighting inside thanks to the front big windows and adequate working space. As a remote employee, I look forward to bringing my laptop here one day and getting into the zone. For the cat lovers, you can setup a time to visit and play with the cats online. Every cat here is up for adoption. In addition, there is the cutest gift shop section including totes, mugs, stickers, coloring books, cat collars, pens, soaps and more. My visit today was extremely special as I witnessed an artist drawing the most magical photo of cats which eventually got hung up on the wall. It's a great concept- the cafe hosts about 30 foster kittens and there are always people who want to play with cats. The cats are pretty friendly! For cat lovers, you'll be in heaven. As a dog person, I visited to take my beloved nephew, a cat person. He loved it. I was unimpressed. Pros: -Coffee was good. We checked in to the cat lounge side (made a reservation a few days earlier) and coffee was delivered to us in the cat lounge side. -As it was Saturday afternoon, both sides of the business were extremely busy. During our hour with the cats, there were 18 humans and 14 cats. Cons: -Because it was so busy, it took quite awhile before drinks were served. Perhaps it would have been faster if we were in the free, cafe side of the business. -The cats seemed tired of the circus of humans changing every hour. They were reluctant to engage, perhaps depressed as waiting for adoption. -Pricey admission of $16 for each person. (Weekdays are $5 cheaper.) -Cat people, or at least those here during our visit, seemed like introverts! I studied a bit, but when I accidentally dropped my macaron and asked if I could get a new one, one lady asked another, and then the girl with black lipstick immediately said no, as if giving me another one would've bankrupted the place. What a wonderful place to come and experience the cats. I am so grateful places like this exist after I lost my beloved cat Reeba 2.5 months ago. Coming to enjoy the cats and their friendliness really helped smooth my soul and allowed me to share my love with these spiritual animals. Fun meet up. My sister and I meet up for coffee about every month and this was our spot this month. We're both big cat people so great alignment. Amazing that when we were there they had helped find homes for 675 cats! The coffee was good, the process to pre-buy tickets to get into the car half of the cat cafe was easy. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We hung with a lot of cool cats (literally) and a couple that were a bit overstimulated. It was fun and a great way to meet them. If you're a crazy cat lady like me, The Cafe Meow is a must! I finally made a visit one Saturday using a coupon I got from the Uptown quarterly. I went with two friends who didn't have a coupon but they bought a deal of Groupon to get a cat lounge hour for two. When we first arrived there was already a group in the cat lounge so we had to wait about an hour. For some reason, one of the workers was extremely rude to my friends and told them in a very non-friendly tone that they were supposed to call ahead to make a reservation to use the Groupon. Which I can understand that they prefer people to call ahead but I don't understand why it was necessary for them to be rude when we were just going to wait an hour anyways and we were more than okay with that... ? Anyways that was a bad start to the whole experience. We then ordered some coffee and walked around Uptown to kill time. The cafe part is really cute and there's plenty of space there for waiting. They also have a fantastic retail section to get gifts for your favorite cat people! When it came time to go into the cat lounge, I was impressed by how organized it was with letting the group know of all the rules and regulations and what to expect. They do a great job with processes to keep the cats and guests safe. Inside the cat lounge most of the kitties were pretty tired out and just sleeping. There were a few who were awake and feeling active. They were all very sweet and overall I fell in love with a few! Visiting from Hawaii! We were so stoked to find The Cafe Meow in Minnesota! My fiance had been missing our furr babies at home since he's been here in MN for work. This is exactly what he needed. The young lady who worked that day was extremely sweet, welcoming, and helpful. I'm so thankful she was such a sweet person because I needed this for my next stop at the Lowry which ended awfully. So thank you Cafe Meow for sending me off in a great mood. We ordered some drinks and hung out with some cool cats. Hehe cool cats... I did get rejected by 2 cats but that's ok. I was loved by a cute sleepy Siamese. This cat cafe is absolutely adorable. I loved the interior with all the perches and furniture laid out for the babies! They were so at ease in this setting. If I lived here, I probably would've gone home with 3 or so cats lol instead, I went home with some toys and an epic tote! I recommend all cat lovers far and near to come check out this Cafe Meow. My girlfriend and I have inquired several times via email about adopting and have not had a response. It's been over 10 days now. Me and my boyfriend went on a Monday morning, so there were only a couple other people there, which I think helped it be such a good experience going here. It was really difficult to pick a drink, all of them sounded amazing! I went with The Calico and wasn't disappointed! Lots of other reviews say that it's too expensive but I disagree; I think the admission is a good price point to maintain a cat cafe (I work for a small business myself, and help with their accounting and profits so I understand why the prices are what they are.) My personal experience at the Café has always been a good one. I was at their Anniversary Day with my partner. We showed up and waited patiently, like good, reasonable people, for one of the walk-in hours. If you plan ahead, you can book yourself an hour with the cats in advance, or take advantage of their other frequent promotions and discounts by following them on Facebook or Instagram. This is a specialized business. You will have a better experience if you ask questions and actually learn more about their goals as an establishment before going. Do not set up rigid expectations of what you think this place should be. You will surely be disappointed if you are the type of person who goes to the Zoo without putting money in the donation box 9 times out of 10. There is a small, reasonable fee of $10 for a cat-hour. Don't want to be in a room full of pure fuzzy joy for an entire hour? What is wrong with y- (I mean) If an entire hour of positive enrichment for your child is just too much time away from your computer screen, they have a happy hour: You pay a smaller fee (I believe it's $6*) for a 30 minute stay between specific hours* listed on their website and social media pages. Benefits to children include: * Human children enjoy ribbon and feather wands as much as cats do. It's more exercise than you would think, playing with that many cats. * It teaches them patience and respect. You have to wait for the cats to come to you, or make yourself interesting enough by enticing them with toys. It teaches children how to earn an animal's respect instead of taking it by force. * You feed their need to exclaim "Kitties!" at all the kitties. * Kids develop a sense of trust around cats, in a society that distrusts cats due to superstitions and presumption. * They learn about respecting boundaries and being empathetic/compassionate to animals. * They find a forever friend that you adopt for them. That's when you do some research and expand on these ideas of respecting boundaries and teaching your kids about animal behavior, and how to develop a bond with an animal over time in a way that's mutually beneficial to your child and the cat (so many people forget the importance of the cat's feelings on the matter.) Note: They have a "do not pick up the cats" rule. They tell you this before you enter the room. That, along with using hand sanitizer. This is all for the protection and respect for the cats. You may think you're not getting much out of this experience once you realize this isn't about you. You are serving the cats. You need to understand that before going to this Café. If you want to be served, stay on the coffee side and watch the cats through the window, where they are safe from you. The Fun Don't Stop: The Café Meow has Cat bingo, Cat yoga, and Paint Your Cat events, as well as many other fun festivities that truly make up for the $10/1 hr visit that does nothing more than helps the cats and the shelters involved*. Making sure rescues have enough resources to take care of these animals costs money. People with a sense of entitlement might think that's a bit much, but I will happily pay! They also do discounts on the cat room if you're a college student* (last time I went.) While not a huge factor, the Café side is quite small. Be prepared to take your coffee to-go during busy hours, or to stand eagerly by the large windows of the cat room while the people sitting at the tables in front of you are trying to shield their coffee from your anticipatory drool. If you really love cats, the wait for the free-hour is nothing (Free means "open to walk-ins" not the cost of entry) I don't plan stuff, otherwise I would for sure schedule an hour on their website for a specific day and time. You have the control to take advantage of the tools; Don't get mad at the rules. There's always something to do while you wait. They have books about cats, and cat themed games on the bookshelf. I received a quick tour and got to meet ALL the kitties. Since I am owned by two rescue kitties, I was right in my element. The cats are friendly in their own ways, no shortage of purrsonality and happiness in the space. I have since recommended The Cafe Meow to our cat sitters. I went here with a friend to see just what this cat cafe was all about and had a nice visit. There's a main cafe area and a separate walled off room which is the cat lounge. Be ready to be surrounded by cat themed artwork. Large windows along the wall permit you to watch the cats and people in the lounge. There were several cats in the room and lots of cat towers and climbing/napping spots for them. There's an employee in the cat lounge to host you and monitor things. One unfortunate thing was a toddler who kept hitting one very annoyed cat with toys and a drink coaster before mom could stop him... so maybe not the best spot for the youngest kiddos. Reservations, which can be made on their website, are recommended to guarantee a spot in the cat room. The cost is $10 for 1 hour which goes towards maintenance and taking care of the cats. There are a few spots every hour for walk in guests to enter the cat lounge. We didn't have reservations and 1 hour seemed like a long time to me to spend in there so I ordered a hot tea and enjoyed watching the cats through the glass. There's a limited coffee and tea selection and a small assortment of baked goods including macarons and cupcakes. What an amazing place! I have been here a few times now. My favorite drink right now is the Floral Feline, but all the drinks I've had have been very tasty. I haven't had many of the bakery treats they sell, but they have a variety of options, including gluten-free items. I have 3 cats of my own, but I love hanging out with the kitties in the cat room. There are lots of places for the kitties to hang out, and they all seem very happy and well taken care of. The staff are very knowledgeable about the cats. The cat room has lots of fun cat-themed literature to help pass the time while you watch the kitties playing or sunning themselves. All of the cats at the cafe are from no-kill rescues, and are all available for adoption. This is a fantastic way to get these cats more exposure and make them more likely to get adopted. I so badly wanted to love this place but I couldn't. I respect what they are doing in their work to find homes for sweet cats who deserve them but.... I just don't like the way things are set up. 1) They only let people in every hour on the hour. If you get there at 2:05, you wait 55 minutes to get in. 2) $10 per person to go into the cat room for an hour. No options to go in for 30 minutes for $5 which would have been nice. 3) You are not allowed to pick up or hold the cats. You can only pet them if they walk by you or you go crouch by their beds. Many of them will be sleeping, which is understandable. It would be nice to have the option to have a kitty sit in your lap (if they want to and are comfortable). 4) Limited seating when there are a lot of people in the room. Considering the size of the room and the amount of seating, there shouldn't be more than ten people in the room at once. When we went, it was a Saturday afternoon and at one point there was at least 15 people in the room which was too many for the space and I'm sure for the cats underfoot. 5) The room attendant with her constant baby talk was killing me! Please, don't talk to the cats in baby talk. I have had cats my whole life and they never once responded to baby talk. It's unnecessary and annoying. I brought my daughter here because she is a teenager that adores cats. She wanted to see and hold all the kitties. She did have one cat jump up into her chair and curl up next to her which was great but the interaction with the cats was not what she had expected. Next time, I will take her to the animal shelter where she can go to the cat room and hold and play with the cats to her heart's content and I will donate the $10 to the shelter. I love all things cats and follwed the progress of the Cafe Meow from the very beginning! I'm so happy they're finally opened and I look forward to seeing how the owners adapt the business. As it stands today, there's a bit of room for improvement. I'll start by saying that the $10 fee to go into the cat room doesn't bother me one bit. I volunteer at a local animal shelter and am very familiar with the cost required to adequately take care of animals. But what did bother me was the underwhelming quality of the coffee drinks. My latte was very weak and I'm fairly certain was not made with soy milk as requested (the stomach ache I had later that night all but confirmed it). I also was not a big fan of the woman who was the room moderator in the cat room. She totally clashed with the atmosphere in the cat room, often abruptly barking out orders to guests who were doing something wrong and respoing to questions at a close to shouting volume. It was very disruptive. I'd definitely go back and I do encourage people to check out the Cafe Meow because it is a fun way to spend time. read more

The cat cafe experience was sub-par compared to other ones I have been to. The ventilation of the cat play/food/bathroom area was non existent and all in close proximity. The cats and interaction with them was the only positive. The food and drinks weren't anything special and the atmosphere and environment wasn't very cozy like other coffee shops. The service was meh. There was no welcome or a sense of customer service other than taking the order. Final thoughts: This had so much potential and if they experienced more cat cafes. Compromising to do both lost the best of both cafe and cat experience. read more

Don't bother with Cafe Meow. This place is a waste of your time and money! $10 to go hang for an hour with a bunch of cats who are up for adoption is profiting off of people's good intentions! I assure you, I'm never going back there! You'll have a better time and experience by getting a cup of coffee from your preferred coffee shop and visiting the Humane Society which is free (every single time you go)!!! With the way this place is being run right now, it won't last a year! I'll take my $20 (cat entrance + 2 small coffees) and donate them to the Humane Society next time! read more
