Found Gypsy Kitchen on Transit Road, I mean to make a habit of going there often from here on out. The coffee is legit. They clearly know what they're doing with espresso. Also grabbed a bite to eat -- food is fresh, not an afterthought. The space is comfortable without being pretentious. Good seating, good light, not loud. I've worked remotely from here, met up with people, and just sat solo -- all work. Free wifi, easy parking, the whole thing. Open Tuesday through Saturday which works fine for me. Staff is friendly every single time, remembers regulars, doesn't rush you out. If you're in Lockport, Niagara Falls, or anywhere in WNY and searching for a local coffee shop that's actually worth it -- this is the answer. Not a chain, not a compromise. Just really good coffee in a spot that feels like it belongs to the neighborhood. One of the better finds in Western New York honestly.

The decor is super unique, they have different areas with different decorations. I wish I would have gotten more pictures. They have a bakery case, multiple options. They have loose leaf tea as well as espresso drinks. I really liked the coffee options. We split a sandwich and got the bean side. Very good. Clean individual bathrooms. Plenty of parking and seating. Kind service.

The best way I can describe this restaurant is that it gives you a feeling of community. It was clear to me I was dining with a bunch of regulars since one of the people at the table next to me walked up and grabbed a can of pop from the refrigerator behind the counter, cracked it open and told Diane to add it to her ticket. Another guy at a different table got up and served himself coffee. I noticed someone else walking out from behind the bar when we walked in. I'm not sure what she was doing, but apparently it's understood when you're a regular that you're also family. I had a soup and my friend who was with me had a BLT. We were both extremely happy with our food and service. We grabbed a table near the door when we first walked in because I like to sit on the perimeter my first time visiting a place. I like to take in everything, and this place does not disappoint. Take a look at my photos to see how little I had to pay for good food and quality service. Truth be told, I was out looking at houses before taking a break at Cousin's. If I didn't want to move to Lockport before, I sure as heck want to now! Heck, I may even stop in and ask Diane for a job. The dish washer did not show up for work the day we were there, so she was pulling double duty. I'm not sure if she has someone else cooking or not, so maybe triple duty! Once word gets out about how great and affordable this place is, she'll be needing the help. Or like me, all the new people will feel instantly like family and just pitch in where needed.

There is a wide variety of bagels to pick from, after that you pick your schmear. I went for the cheddar bagel with a hot cherry pimento cream cheese. Wonderful. The bagel is very good with a nice topping of cheddar and the schmear was really, really good. It had little spicy pieces in it, so every bit was a surprise. Sometimes creamy, sometimes with a little kick. I guess we found a great stop for our longer bike rides. Almost forgot: they make a great cappuccino too with a nice and foamy top. Wonderful.

There were items ranging from honey & candies to jewelry & clothing. A good place to find a unique gift... Maybe for your Valentine. The shop is clean and organized. Service was friendly. There wasn't much of a bagel selection when I visited (around 730am on a Monday), so unsure if options have been cut back or just lesser on certain days of the week. I opted for the Annabel (2 eggs, pepper jack, spinach, tomato and chipotle mayo) on an everything bagel. It came to just under $10, which I found to be a bit expensive for a sandwich without any meat on it. It did taste good and the bagel was nice & fresh as they always have been when I have visited. I plan to stop back again... Perhaps on the weekend to see if there is more of a bagel selection available.
