The café at Tesco Musselburgh has recently reopened after a refurbishment. The new decorations are nice and they have given the place a bit of a lick of paint since the old café was booted out.
The menu hasn't really changed much but there are a few new things like the meal deal and the specials. I walked up the stairs to the new cafe to try it out and I wasn't really too impressed. The queueing system is a bit slow. There is usually only one person on the register and they are the person who makes the coffees too. The other staff are usually through the back chatting.
I ordered a hot chocolate and was charged the price of a fish and chip meal! All I ordered was a small hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows and a Tunnock's caramel wafer! How much money do you need Tesco? Jeez.
The toilets are clean and get checked quite often so that they are never dirty. Thankfully, they are on the café floor so you won't have to go down into the shop and use the downstairs ones.
The hot chocolate was ok but it was piping hot and I had to ask for some extra milk to cool it down. read more
