A beautiful hidden gem in plain sight. Don't miss this place for an offbeat movie or a show.

On Stage at North Shore Music Theater in Beverly from September 16, thru September 27, 2026! COME FROM AWAY, story starts on the SEPTEMBER 11, 2001, 25 years ago that stunned the world which stopped normal life for the whole World! This uplifting musical will bring to the stage a shining light in the mist of this global tragedy! About a small town Gander, Newfoundland when 38 planes were instructed to divert with about 7,000 confused passengers to descend and land here! It stranded its passengers, it began a powerful story of humanity! You will be riveted to your seats and witness up close the cultural differences, and how life changed in those days! It is also a Tony Award Winner Musical that Bill Hanney brought to NSMT FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT PLEASURE! He has never disappointed the audiences in his choices of Shows here! Opening Night did not disappoint the enthusiasm of its viewers with No Intermission performances! Owner/ Producer BILL HANNEY & Director KEVIN HILL, kept this production with a SEE/SAW Balance of Humor, Hope and Obvious Sadness. These 12 Cast Members which played multiple characters could not have made it anymore brilliant! Such as Claude/Played by David BENOIT - Welcome to the Rock! Who I watched him years ago at the Park Plaza in Boston in Forbidden Broadway, Forever Plain! Truly talented in my eyes! Oz & Others/ Played by Kyle Nicholas ANDERSON kept my attention through out the show with his accents and characters! Beulah & Others/ Played by Mary CALLANAN my eyes were riveted and focused on the accents and characters she played, it gave my the biggest smile and happiness to see her give another First Class performance from the many, many Broadway performances I have seen that she has been in! Your Forever Fan! Love you! To all the amazing performers that kept us all learning and understanding this true account of " COME FROM AWAY ", I give you highest mark for a performance done the Best! Such as Brandon Alvion, Danny Burgos, Matthew Bryan Feld, Laurel Harris, Victoria Huston-Elem, Nick Lehan, Alaina Mills, Susan Oliveras, Carla Woods, Marie Eife, Andrew Harvey, Xavier May, Robyn Riddick, Robert Saoud, Nicole Weitzman! Kudos to All that made Opening Night Special! I enjoyed each and everyone one and I Cried, I Laughed, I Learned, I was Educated with a new prospective on the worst day United States sustained and I THANK YOU ALL! BILL Hanney gave us "COME FROM AWAY", Which is a Tribute to Human Kindness!

We've been coming to the Topsfield Drive-in for the past couple of weeks now, and it's been a great option for going out. There are concession stands set up, masks are required when you are outside your vehicle. It's been nice to go out for a movie. This week was Beetlejuice. For some reason I'm watching it now, and it's a really weird plot line for a movie, but I remember not questioning it as a kid. I remember the gags and the running jokes with Delia's sculptures, Barbara having a literal zipper on her mouth. Holy crap that is young Alec Baldwin and I didn't recognize him. Beetlejuice needs to marry Lydia, an adolescent for whatever reason? It just struck me last night that this movie probably wouldn't be made in today's day and age. I still love it though, however I'm starting to notice that I question more things as I get older. So, last week was actually Jumanji: The Next Level. So it's nice because there is a nice spread of movies to watch. The concession stand is fairgrounds prices, which is okay but who can be mad over $7 deep fried oreos, they're delicious and where else you gonna get this? They do offer radios for rent at $5 a pop, or to jump your car for $5 if your car dies while listening to the radio for the movie. We've run off the battery for a movie and have been fine. I would caution not to rely on your battery unless it was replaced recently, and just buy a cheap radio to watch the film.

Prices were extremely reasonable with a breakfast coming out to about $13 and the employees behind the counter were super friendly and nice. The breakfast was delicious and a great portion for the price. My partner who has not eaten an egg in about 20 years worked up the courage to try this one and LOVED it which was as a huge win as he now knows he does like eggs! I personally enjoyed the beans and sausage, which definitely were just as good as what I've had in Ireland. The restaurant was relatively quiet when we went, but there were still a handful of regulars there. There was also Irish session happening around noon, which we stayed for part of and it was nice as well.

It was a large space with plenty of table, high top, and picnic table style seating inside and outside there was plenty of patio seating. Right across from the Beverly Depot. They have food available which people were coming into grab and go. There was a handful of beers as well as some on cask. Seemed like they probably have more but were out of a good amount given the number of taps we could see. In general it was clean. Not sure we would rush back. Still we were glad we checked out a local place.
