PAT IS AMAZINGGGG! Most personable tattoo shop I've ever been to. From Ryan at the front checking us in, to the other artists tattooing next to us. Friendly and kept us laughing the whole time. We were walk-ins which I feel like usually gets a "nose up" response... but they were so welcoming. Pat took our crappy drawing off of a receipt and made it more than we could expect! I've had several tattoos done in the past, all of which were done by an artist in Pittsburgh. I wanted someone closer to home and heard great things about The Butcher. After doing some research, I felt Kim Reed would be the best fit long term. (I have more tattoos in my future, trust!!) This visit was for a simple wrist tattoo but if you look her up, Kim is incredible with detail especially with animals. So I went for a consult which went very well. She listened to my ideas and we came up with design that worked great. Living in ATL, I wasn't able to get it done the same week so we had to schedule for months later. We had several conversations via email and finally my schedule coordinated with hers. Went for one more consultation and then had the work done. Everyone there is professional and kind. This past Saturday I got my first tattoo at The Butcher and it was very last minute and unplanned. I called the shop at around 4:30pm and asked about walk-ins and was welcomed by the nicest receptionist named Jenny who told me I would have a great chance of getting in that night and texted me updates frequently and printed up various sizes for me before I arrived. At around 6:30pm I was texted and told I had a spot at 7:30pm and who my artist would be. As I got to the shop everyone was very kind and welcoming to everyone and answered all of the questions I had about the process and after care and made sure I was comfortable with everything before getting the tattoo. I waited about ten minutes and I went back with my artist Pat Crump who does amazing and beautiful work and was super kind to me throughout the whole process, which didn't take very long at all since I just got a small and simple tattoo. Everything about this shop is just amazing. The receptionist, the artists, the work produced, the cleanliness, and the overall vibe and accommodation with walk-ins. I had a wonderful experience with my first tattoo and I definitely recommend The Butcher and Pat Crump if you're looking to get your first or a new tattoo. read more

My husband and I were going to be in town for our anniversary and wanted to get tattoos. I did some research and found The Butcher and am so happy I did! Everyone who works there is amazing. Mark Pickman was our artist and he did an amazing job. He did an original piece for my husband and a small piece on my wrist. We talked through size and placement and he really spent time making sure we were comfortable before getting started. After moving to Savannah, I needed to find a new tattoo artist. I did as much research as possible, to find a person with great line work, and consistent tattoos. I wanted to find someone versatile in many different styles of tattooing, because I have tons of different tattoos that I want, and didn't want to have to keep looking for different artist. I came across The Butcher and fell in love with Kelly Border's work. She was exactly what I was looking for. I set an appointment with her, to have her fix up an existing tattoo, and to see if she was someone I wanted to do a lot more work on me. Kelly didn't disappoint. She rocked. As soon as she was done, I said "okay, lets talk about my sleeve...." Kelly has been working on my sleeve for a few months now, and she's fantastic. I get compliments on my tattoos done by her, everywhere I go. Seriously. At least 4 times a week, if not more, someone tells me how much they love them. Kelly is easy to work with, and she's so much fun. She easily interprets my ideas and has been making a beautiful masterpiece for me.... which is no easy feat with the list of things I asked her to tattoo. :) Everyone in the shop is fantastic to be honest. My friend I walked in on a Friday afternoon at about 5pm for a walk in, I was told an artist had a cancellation that we would be squeezed in. We met with Jimmy who would be our artist and waited about 30 minutes. My friend and I both got quick small tattoos and I will say, this place was the best for a walk in. They were all so nice and I was seen right away. I was blown away by how small Jimmy was able to do my tattoo as some artist wont. Pat is the bomb. Just had him do a barber pole and some flowers next to it. Dude is an amazing artist. He did a marvelous job and made the tattoo super colorful. The consultation in the beginning was very thorough. He asked what colors I liked and what colors I didn't. What characteristics I like most and if there are any about the design I didn't. He explained what was going to be shaded and highlighted. Pat is a super fun dude to be tattooed by. Joking type of guy and easy to talk with. Made me feel super comfortable. Thanks again bro. I have some tattoos of questionable quality that I got when I was younger. I wanted to have a tattoo that didn't cover them up, but that brought your attention away from them. I heard from two acquaintances that The Butcher was the place to go, and Kimberly Reed was the one to see because of the style of tattoo I wanted. Later, I found that yet another person I knew also got their tattoo from Kim. All of the people that reffered me her way had gorgeous tattoos, so that's why I went with The Butcher. I was nervous at first because I honestly hate dealing with tattoo studios. They all act too cool for me, if not just outright bored. This was not the case at all with The Butcher. Brandon, who helped me via email, then over the phone and in person was super friendly and helpful. I came for one art consultation and two sessions to finish my tattoo. Every single time everyone said hello and were just plain nice, down to earth people. Kim is phenomenal. She's had 20+ years as an artist and is a master. She has a very painted style, and when she's done it looks like something you could hang on your wall. The colors are lush, and the bird looks like it could fly off of my arm at any moment. It's that real. She was wonderful to work with. She made sure the art flowed with my old tattoos and looked balanced on my arm. Her attention to detail is unwavering. Two shoulder pieces in full color took a total of about three hours, and they came out amazingly. Shop is incredibly clean, staff is super chill. Was looking to get a tattoo in the Savannah area and stopped into the butcher shop. It was very clean in the front area, though they slack in the presentation of the artists work. I was told to go through the artists portfolios to get a better feel of their skill set for what I was looking for but it just wasn't enough for me to warrant getting a tattoo here. They needs more samples or wall art presented by each artist working there. A book with ten tattoos does't do it! read more
