Noodles and dumplings is a diamond in the rough. Situated in Downtown Hamilton the restaurant is…read moreextremely small giving an almost street food ambiance as best it can. Seating for about 8 -10 people. This particular day I ordered the Wonton Noodle Soup. A massive bowl of fresh hand made noodle and fresh wontons in a delectable broth. This broth was not hot chili wise as some other soups they offer with naked thus place unique. Each bowl is crafted with a different taste and being a small place the chef is visible to see! The attention to detail in every bowl is amazing as he takes time to perfect each to be a perfect presentation. Very hawker/street style! No need to go to Toronto it's all right here. The hours are limited during the week and more flexible on weekend as the there is only one guy (the chef) and a counter person. highly impressed highly recommend

However if you're looking for absolutely authentic noodles and dumplings served up steaming hot with the sweetest owners then go ahead and pay them a visit. Everything was so inexpensive for the portion size! The beef noodle soup was heaven in a bowl and we loved the pork wontons both steamed and fried. Lots of street parking close by but be warned there is not much seating and it's super cold if you sit by the door as there's lots of people going in and out. Seriously incredible stuff

I first heard about The Bean Ladies (TBL) at the One of a Kind Show over a decade ago. I miss going…read morethere because I always managed to find great gifts for friends and family, and I enjoyed looking at cool food and beverage products. Back then, TBL only offered soybean products. I remember buying five bags for $25. My favourite was the garlic. It shouldn't be shocking if you've been reading along here. Garlic is my best friend. Several years later, TBL opened a store in Newmarket. I never made it up there, but it eventually closed down. I was thrilled to rediscover TBL. Its store is now in Dundas. I wondered whether it was still kicking around and was glad that it was. I placed an order online. I liked that there was a promotion where if you order five items or more, you get one for free. Additionally, if you order twelve items, shipping is free. I decided to go crazy with thirteen items. My order ended up with these items: - Chuckwagon chili - Double chocolate black bean brownies - Soybean snacks (sweet chili lime, apples 'n cinnamon, and all dressed) - Fava bean snacks (jalapeno cheddar, smokey bacon, sea salt, and garlic and sea salt) My order was fulfilled and sent fairly fast. I got it in two days. Wow! I recently made the chuckwagon chili. There's a lot of flavour. I found it saltier than what I'm used to. I normally make chili with canned beans. It was different to soak these beans overnight and boil them. If you like the extra couple of steps, this chili box is for you. I was pleased with the end result and the extra steps. Although I miss the garlic soybeans (they aren't offered anymore), the garlic and sea salt fava beans are equally as yummy. The garlic is strong, which I absolutely love. It's not overly salty, so it's the perfect combination. The fava beans are crunchy and are a great snack. You do need a beverage to wash them down. I haven't had any of the other flavours yet. I believe that I've had all dressed in the past, but the garlic has always had my heart. The only downside is that each package is much smaller than what it used to be. When I bought bags of soybeans over a decade ago, each bag was 225 g. These days, it's 130 g per bag. It's sad that you get less for more, but the quality has remained the same. I also feel good about supporting a local Canadian business that continues to endure. I've never made brownies with black beans before and look forward to giving them a try. I'm glad that this business continues to develop cool products, and is alive and kicking. (285)

Deplorable planning of staff. We arrived at 6 pm. and didn't receive our food until after 7:30. They messed up further because one person's food order was missed. What owner of a restaurant doesn't call in more staff, there was only one chef! The food was okay, nothing great! The server tried her best, but it wasn't good enough. I suggested free dessert, due to the aggravation. She hesitated and then did give us free dessert. 20 % gratuities were added to our bill. A further insult to the evening. 10% or 15% would have been more deserving. We usually give 15% but this was undeserving. The owner's may have been away, or too busy to correct this situation. Will not return again.

Went to Betula this evening for the 1st time. Had heard it was great. Wow! What a lunchbag letdown…read more Their Dinner Menu is a joke. Looked more like a pub fare menu but at fine dining prices. My meal was their "Nashville Southern Dinner": consisted of 3 (mini) pieces of battered deep fried chicken breast,( over-fried and dried out), and Mac N Cheese (zoodles pasta...you know...something you'd give a kid for lunch) in a scant amount of sauce (like watery "CheezWhiz), and a few pickle slices on the side, all for the high end fine dining price of $29 and a 6oz glass of poor quality Reisling for $19. I couldn't force myself to finish eating it. Sub-standard, poor quality, served barely warm food. They ought to be embarrassed. I made a strong point of insisting the server send my sentiments to the (so-called) cook. Betula is an embarrassment to my hometown! I wouldn't recommend and I will never return. Food: 1/5 | Service: 2/5 | BY THE WAY, I'M NOT FROM SANFRANCISCO. I WAS BORN AND RAISED HERE IN THE VALLEY TOWN OF DUNDAS
