I went to Wimpy's diner because my family had been craving good diner food for a loong time. Although the atmosphere of the restaurant is cool and unique, the food was just OK. I've definitely had better diner food. What to expect -Wimpy's has a cool, retro, Americana feel complete with the record covers and old school 25 cent JUKEBOX!! Too bad it was not working when we went. -The servers were friendly and checked up on us frequently. -Food was a little slow, but that's probably because they were a little busy. -Servings are GENEROUS for the price IMO. What to eat -Had the Salisbury steak with peas, caramelized onions and rice. It was a little under seasoned, but the meat was delicious, otherwise it was just OK. -Also had a breakfast dish that had 2 eggs, peameal bacon, hash browns and breakfast sausage. It was again, just TYPICAL breakfast food you'd find in a diner. -Cheeseburger was DELICIOUS, I'd say one of the top burgers I've ever tried. They were very generous with the amount of cheese and the patty itself was very juicy. This is just a restaurant you should try once and to enjoy the atmosphere, but the food is just ok. read more

This place is a perfect greasy spoon joint! I loved the diner look and feel to the location. There is a big old jukebox in a corner and lots of little ones old school coin jukeboxes beside each table. All the wall are full of old classic American brands advertisement signs and slogans. The serve was fast and the server was very friendly. The server checked up on us quite a few times which was good. Now the food... We orders scramble eggs and eggs benedict, well we tasted better but hey "greasy spoon" so all good. The potatoes were awesome and crispy. There are no fruits but they give you tomatoes on the side. So enjoy the décor and some greasy American style diner food! read more

Went there Friday after work. And had their special of the day. . I ordered. Hot hamburger steak and fried onions with mashed potatoes and gravy Came with baby carrots. It included. Souper Salad So I had a bowl of tomato macaroni soup. And it came with a root beer. The service was very good. And the food was good. read more

Likely the best club sandwich I've ever had -- real roasted turkey, balanced well with crispy bacon and lightly toasted bread. The restaurant is small, so a line at the door is normal, but the turn-around at the tables is quick, so you can expect to be seated relatively quickly. I'm not a big fan of the Wimpy's chain but this one was close to my hotel so I ate here a couple times. The first time I had the chicken parmesan. The pasta was ok, cooked al dente, tomato sauce was pretty good. The chicken wasn't good. The breading was non existent and barely seasoned. The cheese wasn't very flavourful. The garlic bread was fine. The second time I had a monte cristo with onion rings. The sandwich was ok but a bit bland. I sprinkled salt on it. The onion rings side was huge and they were very tasty. My friend had the meat lovers omelette. It was gigantic. It was 5 eggs and absolutely stuffed with bacon, ham, sausage, and cheese. He couldn't eat it all so I had to help out. It was delicious. There is no need of having a portion size that huge, though. Make it human sized and charge less. The service was really great. I'd go in again for lunch if I were in the area. read more

When you enter the diner you are met with the typical Elvis Marilyn Monroe and James Dean fare. It's probably the most interesting thing about this place since their food is really lackluster. My son ordered a hamburger that just looked bizarre with the Patty 8 inches wide. I ordered hot beef sandwich and peas.. The beef wasn't bad but the gravy just seem like it was out of a package the potatoes kind of the same thing and the peas well they seem like they dried out been rehydrated dried out and then rehydrated again and all of this for over $40 unbelievable. Great food, great prices. Wimpy's has never disappointed on quality. However this location has ants crawling all over the tables and window ledges. Kind of distracting and unsanitary but like I said it's great food if you overlook the ants!! read more

The Wimpy's chain is one of my old favourites. If you want a giant burger, onion rings, and a coke, this is the place to be. The rest of the menu looks solid as well, but after ordering the famous burger randomly my first time there, I always go with that. This location isn't quite as good as a couple others I've been to as the food quality is a bit less consistent, but its still well worth the try for the famous burger combo! read more

This location is the one I've been to most but I've enjoyed eating at other various locations just outside of Toronto. I love this place so much. I've tried too many things off of the menu to remember and I have never been disappointed! The food is tasty and the serving sizes are good. I've encountered some waitresses that I felt were not attentive enough but that's only happen a couple of times. This place is great for breakfast lunch or dinner! Shame on ME for not reading the MENU properly. I ordered a Philly Cheese Burger, the price listed was $3.45 so I ordered it along with fries and a coke. The bill was over $18.00 and had listed: small burger = $7.49 === Philly Cheese burger + $3.49 combo fries and coke = $4.99 TOTAL = $15.97 + tax. WOW, I questioned the cashier why I was charged for TWO burgers? Her reply was, the Philly Burger is an upgrade to the small hamburger. That works our to $10.98 for a very small hamburger with a few peppers and some cheese on it. When I lifted the HUGE bun I could hardly see the hamburger it really was small. I wonder why I missed all the information about a SMALL burger and a $3.49 UPGRADE. I will NEVER go back to thus restaurant again as I feel totally deceived by the MENU. Again, I know it was my fault for not reading the menu properly but I'm sure the menu was "less than up front" with its descriptions of the burgers. read more
