You can read my previous review below, but I felt that I have to write an updated after recently revisiting the Bullfinch:
First of all, I have to say that it was Mother's Day and we turned up without a reservation for a late lunch, so you have to excuse that the restaurant was busy.
With no place in the main restaurant, we were offered an alternative place in the pub/bar area - no problem at all.
Nobody told us though that we won't be able to have the restaurant menu, but will only get a very limited bar menu.
The selection was nothing special - the usual burger, fish and chips, roast beef, etc.
My roast beef was dry and tasted like it had been left for too long on a warming tray. The other dishes were not much better either.
Despite ordering from the bar menu, we still paid restaurant prices for really not good food.
A real shame - we definitely won't come back!
My previous review:
Just came back from a Sunday lunch at the Bullfinch with the family. Contrary to the other reviewer, we all thought that the food was rather good.
Compared to some of the overpriced pubs you can find in the area, the Bullfinch serves good, traditional pub food. Ok, it's not Michelin star quality food, but very good for a family meal on a Sunday.
The staff were really friendly and managed to sort out a table for the five of us, although haven't booked in advance.
Food snobs stay away, everybody else should enjoy their meal though at the Bullfinch.
We will definitely come back again. read more
