Gallery Mess is definitely not a mess. Lovely, light and airy place. Clean unfussy decor, making the most of the old building structure. An inviting bar runs half its length to make you feel relaxed and at home, with equally friendly and welcoming staff. Bag a table by one of the huge sunny windows and look out at the statuesque trees silhouted against the green sports ground fronting the Saatchi Gallery. Wide food selection from a bowl of hot soup to full meals and of course a range of drinks to inebriate or to invigorate depending on your mood. Just round the corner from Sloane Square tube and right next door to the excellent Gallery, really easy to get to and then to wander off round to feast on the arty offerings. Of course, this all comes at a price, these are not corner cafe costs. But then neither are they ridiculously top end either and for a special afternoon treat (or to be trendily impressive in a smart but casual environment) - perfect!

Amazing service for a lovely venue with a view on the Saatchi Gallery's gardens. Absolutely loved their Champagne afternoon tea with perfect cakes and yummy sandwiches. They also have a kids' tea option that's as cute as it gets - you can decorate your own cakes! Loved it.

Most memorable dinner we have experienced in a year or more. …read more Beautiful trout with spring vegetables in a subtle glaze and chicken schnitzel with an aioli type sauce. Even the asparagus deserved its own review. Staff knew how to make the evening a hit including a very rare thing: a well mixed martini. Our meal was topped off with a perfect British sponge cake snuggled down in warm toffee and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The environment of casual benches and chairs with homemade cushions surprisingly served to make the relaxed ambiance the perfect background for the fine dining. The chef and staff share their process in an open kitchen which allows the diner to appreciate the whole experience. No one hurried us. Everyone was professional and lively. An evening we will not forget.,

Everything on the plate was FANTASTIC. I especially want to note the bacon- I'm somewhat of a bacon snob and theirs was perfectly done. Thick and cooked enough to be sturdy but not overcooked and too crispy. My first time trying black pudding and I was a little hesitant, but it was also delicious. Highly recommend this place. I wish we were staying longer in London, we'd probably come back every morning!
