We had a not so fun interaction with one of their employees today. During checkout I spoke with one of the clerks and told him I didn't like the experience. The clerk listened and was attentive and understanding. As we left, another person (may have been the owner) stopped us and asked us about our experience. He was so kind and understanding....I would NEVER went back, but way the 2 men responded made a difference and inspired me to give this business as many stars as i could. I hope this becomes a teachable moment for the person we didn't have a great interaction with. read more

I haven't been to this range yet, but I wanted to do a review on the customer service I received from Jerry yesterday. I've been looking for a shooting range that will accommodate 4 adults and 4 children ranging in age from 10 to 14. I called a few other ranges and was treated as an inconvenience and told that I had too many children to bring in at one time and that expensive private lessons could only include 2 people and they only had 1 slot per day so I couldn't even book multiple lessons in one day. I spoke to Jerry and he was extremely accommodating and was very willing to book our private lesson for everyone even though the date is several weeks out. There were no "ifs, ands, or buts" given for my requests which I very much appreciated. He gave a few helpful suggestions on what we should look for and expect. I'll update my review after our visit on June 2nd. read more

Finally, I found a range that has skeet shooting in the area. I haven't used it yet, but I am super excited to try it out. Everyone I have spoken to here has been friendly and helpful. The pistol range was much like other chain ranges. They do have automatic target controls, which is super nice! We only used the pistol range so far. We plan on going back to use the rifle side as well as the shotgun skeet area out back. The decor is rustic and fitting for a gun range. They offer a variety of classes and memberships. They also have ammunition and guns for sale. They rent hand guns, rifles, and machine guns to use on site as well. Great choice if you're looking for a smaller, more intimate setting. Definitely not the more commercialized chain gun range. read more

Needed to make another review of the bullet ranch. I was charged 25.00 for a bench fee but bank statement shows 26.82 . theres no tax on labor in ohio so another fraud act on thier part. I should have posted this review a couple years ago. But I wasn't into doing reviews ago. So it should be noted that this occurred in 2022. However, the management of the store hasn't changed so I believe it is still relevant. I went in there as a novice, knowing absolutely nothing about guns. All I knew is that I wanted a rifle. I told them that I was interested in a rifle that I could mount a scope on the gentleman brought over a rifle. It looked neat. he said this is what I want And not knowing any better I asked how much it was. He said $850 and I took it. It was an AK-47 which seemed like a very nice gun. I took it to the outdoor Shooting Range after figuring out how it worked and buying a couple magazines. It was fun to shoot. That's good. The bad started about a day later when I was watching some YouTube videos telling how the bolt carrier group on this particular rifle had a tendency to fall apart. The company that made it hadn't made any bolt carrier groups for over a year and didn't know when they were going to make any more. This scared the heck out of me so I took the gun back to the bullet Ranch and told him I wasn't happy with it and I would like to return it for something else. He took it too the back room. He came back and said they would give me $350 for it. $350 for a gun I paid $850 for less than a week prior. He said it was a used gun. I said you didn't tell me it was a used gun when I bought it he said that I should've looked at the ticket. There was no ticket on it when I bought it. To make a long story short, anybody stupid enough to buy anything from these people deserves what they get. It's the biggest bunch of crooks I've ever dealt with. read more

Went in tonight for their Date Night Package. This included gun rental, range time and dinner. They even included a rose for the ladies as it's almost Valentine's Day. Customer service was exceptional from the moment we arrived until the moment we walked out of the door. Clean and well lit with super friendly staff. The lanes were well spaced and easy to use. They really take the time to make you feel comfortable with what you're doing and answer any questions. I would recommend this facility to anyone; new or experienced. Overpriced ammo and accessories, such as a $500 s&w m&p 9mm that I can buy from budsgunshop for $320. absolutely terrible customer service they act like they don't want you there. On top of that they offer you terrible prices on anything you try to sell. The owner wants to act like they gave great customer service, I stood at the counter for 5 minutes before somebody grumbled "what do you want?" and stood up from his little desk, looked at what I was selling and 5 minutes later basically laughed in my face telling me my item was outdated and offered me a price lower than the local pawnshop offered me. read more

Got a response back from the owner and he just assumed I made up this review because "i have s beef with them". Little does he know is that he was one of the rude ones. Also, I've thought about my experience for quite some time before I decided to write a review. Normally, i do not write reviews. I'm not going to get into my experience with fire arms but i will day he and the staff could talk to their customers in a more respectfully manner. If they are tire of personnel violating certain rules, then maybe they should re-engineer the way they do things to better help customers understand their rules. Just because you've had a bad day or your tired of people violating the same rules does not give you the right to threaten to kick people out. Bottom line, it doesn't matter to me. This is my first experience at an indoor shooting range and I had a very pleasant experience here at The Ranch. The staff was friendly and courteous and the gentleman behind the counter ( I've forgotten his name ) was most helpful and informative as this was my first time learning about guns and their proper safe use and precautions. He showed me several different firearms in different calibers and configurations but there was one particular 9mm hand gun that I fell in love with and that was a used Sphinx in prestige shape going for $789.00 If I had the money , I would have bought that gun right there and then after the approval of form 4473 of course and left with it happy as a kid in a candy store. Anyway, as for the facilities itself, it was very nice and well run and I will be sure to comeback and shoot there again. I have since returned and had even more fun shooting an Israeli FAL with a friend. read more

I am a new gun owner that lives in Pataskala. I drive by this establishment everyday going to and from work. For my birthday, my family and I thought it would be fun to spend the day at the range so that I could get some experience and comfort level with my new purchase. I had 4 other family members with me but none of us had ever been to a gun range. The front man (I think his name was Bob) was extremely friendly and the most helpful of anyone we saw. Mind you, there were 4 other employees but none of them even spoke except for a RUDE woman who did nothing but chastise all of us and tell us how we weren't "doing us we were told". I tried to explain that we were unexperienced and would appreciate a little patience, but that request fell on death ears. I felt very unwelcomed and will not patronize your establishment again. I did not feel like the money I spent there (over $125 for 2hrs), was appreciated; nor did I feel safe. The staff was intimidating and we were threatened by 2 other patrons because we didn't know all the rules. I will also not recommend this establishment to any of family or friends and I know a lot of gun owners. I know you probably won't care about how I feel or this review; but you should be aware that Customer Service sometimes require a business to put up with situations that are unusual and the way you treat your Customers both good and bad with be remembered and shared. read more

Oh where to begin. I am so very disappointed that I have been here so many times and have never seen Shrek. Short guy, big ears from previous reviews. Also, I've never seen any animals in this so-called "ranch". Coincidentally there is a wonderful meat market out front which gladly accepts those who wish to Open Carry ;-) The range is is a little too safe for me. They don't put up with bullcrap and monitor yahoos very closely. How can I properly train for the streets of Columbanistan in such a pristine, clean and safe environment. I think that's it for now. Will I be back, yes. Good crew running this place. But now you've at least been warned. read more

I've been to most the indoor ranges in central Ohio and the Bullet Ranch tops the list as the best one I've been to and luckily it's just down the road from me. The store really offers just about anything you'd need from firearms to accessories to ammo. The staff has never been anything but incredibly personable and polite and this is one of the biggest selling points. I've been to places where I saw staff mock new shooters behind their backs and I do not sense the folks here would take any part in that. I find the range time to be reasonably priced and the range itself has been the biggest selling point for me. By far the nicest indoor range I've been to. You don't feel crowded next to other lanes and I've found the temperature to be quite comfortable (other indoor ranges blast heat followed by AC and it's an extreme one way or the other). The range offers discounts for LEO/military and that's yet another selling point to me. I'll certainly be looking into a membership here in the near future. PS, my only complaint is PLEASE get a glock 22 to rent out! read more

Update/ Edit/response to reply, Dude, did you just blame the manufacturer? That tells me all I need to know. Unless the folks at Federal had a rough day and misspelled their name as 'Hornady', I don't think that is the issue. Let's say something weird did happen though, and things got mixed up, at the manufacturer of course. I still don't think they would've pressed other ammo into the wrong caliber and stamped it as 'JAG' and then sent it out the door in the same box at the mystery Hornady and Federal. I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure Jagemann (JAG) doesn't sell ammo. They sell components. Don't blame me for leaving an honest account of a transaction with your business, (your employees were super cool by the way). Don't blame the manufacturer for some mystery mix up. Let your customers know what they're purchasing if it is possibly something that is not as advertised. Check what's in the box if you are acquiring ammo through somewhere besides a manufacturer. Again, this is all highly unprofessional and potentially unsafe. I'm good on recourse, I'm just going to choose not to do business there anymore. read more

The Bullet Ranch is a newer range in Pataskala. Store is large and staff are exceptionally nice. They have a decent gun selection for purchase or rental. Lanes are clean and rent for $25. I would suggest bringing your own ammo and targets, as theirs is limited and a bit expensive. read more

Visited a while back after it opened, liked that it was clean and the indoor range was REALLY nice. Loved having an outdoor archery range. Why 3 stars? They will not honor Groupon vouchers for archery except for during the week. I looked everywhere in the fine print prior to purchase to make sure I could use it on the weekend. When I called to make a reservation they said I could not use it. There is $16 down the drain. Edited to 4 stars due to the quick response from the owner. read more

Not only will they run your handgun through the ultrasonic cleaning tank, they also run horse tack. My big Mexican Spade bit is being cleaned and polished as I write this. I assure you that silver Mexican Spade will never go in my horses mouth, decorative only. read more

Discovered it on a whim! Building seemingly old, however new range lanes inside with modern target controls. Friendly staff. While not exactly a fan of flat range rate, I like that weekdays are unlimited time for same flat rate. Great if you got a few hundreds of rounds to waste. Often as a ccw carrier, I'd like to brush up for 30 mins on some skills but they don't offer half hour rates like others do. I like it here, and if I'm in the area "while packing heat" I'll make sure to stop by for a lead-filled afternoon. read more

The Bullet Ranch is as good as it gets when looking for a shooting range or firearms education. Every member of their staff I've interacted with has valued safety over all things followed immediately by education. They've done a great job cultivating a "there is no such thing as a stupid question" mentality and as such is the first place I recommend for new or experienced shooters in Columbus. The lanes are clean, well lit and allow the users to position their targets up to 75 feet away with the digital keypad so you don't have to eyeball it like some other local lanes. I've taken my CCW course, Advanced Handguns I and Advanced Handguns II courses there. All were great experiences. read more

Very happy with my experience at the Bullet Ranch for my first time shooting. Wait time for a lane was about 1 hour but we were warned of the wait time when we called ahead. The instructor Tom was very clear with his explanations of the handgun and was very patient as I was very nervous and out of my comfort zone. Clean store. Simple check in for a lane. They have 10 lanes with digital distance. Good ventilation. The best I've experienced.

Had some gunsmith work done on my Weatherby 30-06. Specifically had the stock glass bedded. I took them a clean gun/clean bore. I got back a dirty bore, and bedding compound stuck all over the barrel, action and scope. None of the screws were torqued to spec. I had to dremel the stock at the rear of the action where the heal of the bolt rides because it was not done by the smith, and the bolt was hard to cycle. The action screws were all marred up. After seeing all this, I did not remove the action from the stock to see what the bedding job looked like. Shooting the gun will tell if it's a good bedding job. And it took them three months to complete when they told me it would be two weeks. If you're looking for a gun smith, look else where. read more

Prices are pretty competitive for being a smaller establishment. Some of the sales people are great, some are so-so. The range is typically over-crowded on the weekends and you'll have to wait, but it's a clean facility. Selection is limited to the more popular firearms and you won't find much in the way of novelty guns. read more
