The Dublin rec center gives you a free in-body test when you buy fitness passes which is a very nice little perk but it's almost impossible to schedule it. I tried calling both the people (T & H, for short) who administer the test to schedule it and neither one called me back. I also texted one of them (H) and never heard back. So I called the rec center and they gave me the email for H. I emailed him and he replied and we scheduled it. Then, two hours before the time we had scheduled, he emailed me and said he would be teaching a class at that time and could I do it myself? I had never paid attention to the set-up of the procedure so I said no. So he said he would get someone to cover for him and he'd be there at our scheduled time. I got there early and waited about 15 minutes before I went to the front desk to tell them I needed help with the scheduled test. The person followed me back to the in-body room and pointed to a man and said "That's H". So he was out in the hallway having a conversation and I was waiting (at that point nearly 20 minutes) for him. He came in and gave me the test. Some version of this happens every 3 months when I buy new passes and have to run the gauntlet to get my free test and it is extremely frustrating. read more

Although I don't participate much anymore, I have enjoyed my experience and would encourage others to try it out. I don't drive anymore, so I limit my travel from home. The senior center has always been friendly and a great place to relax and talk with others. I had participated in their senior citizen's board and found that they responded quickly to any suggestions. read more

Love going here definitely beings back childhood memories, I am a bit sad to see that the prices for entry went up by alot and u can not use a ducking school id to get a discount anymore you have to show proof of residency in order to get your discount, its about 18 per person for adults and 11 for kids, when I was a kid back then lol it was 7 bucks for non residency but you could use your school id and get a discount going in. However there's 2 pools a gym a basketball court a teen lounge and many more fun things to do. So if your gonna pay the price you might want to get your money's worth and spend the whole day there. read more

This facility is such a great resource for the local community. They have so many different services here, such as a fitness center, pools, gym, theater, and community classroom and meeting spaces. They offer annual memberships, or you can purchase passes just for group fitness classes. You don't have to be a Dublin resident, but they have slightly higher rates for non residents. I have really enjoyed the group fitness offerings and appreciate the variety of class times. The instructors are great and make the classes fun (even when they are kicking your butt). This is a great affordable place to book your event. We booked the community center hall for our son's party (all three sections). The rate for Dublin residents is $120/hour. Nonresidents pay a higher rental rate. This venue worked for us because with the round tables they are able to fit 225 maximum. Most other halls happen to cap out at 200. There are three sizes the community hall can be used as. We did not have to get a vendor license as our food was catered and just being delivered to the center and nothing was being prepared at the center. I appreciate the accessible kitchen, which helps keep the extra food or dessert refrigerated. I like how they are able to give you surround sound for your music, a microphone setup, and projectors for no additional cost. A con to this place is the lighting. With the color of the walls and the lighting, most pictures appear to be more of a yellow hue. The workers who are there to set up and work with you through the event I felt were rushing the process instead of going through properly of how to use the mic and surround sound system. Also, some of the set up was done incorrectly and we ourselves had to shift some tables and chairs around. Overall a good place due to cost and space. read more

Nice looking facility but was visiting form out of town and was treated kind of rudely by the people working the front desk. I shared some feedback on a policy and they listened but we're immediately dismissive and unapologetic and explained why there was right. I understand the policy issue, but they didn't seem to have any customer support mindset at all. Not sure I'd recommend them for that. (manager and receptionist on 6/27 2pm) The weights area are decent but limited in machines and laid out oddly.I was in at 4 on a weekday and had to wait on almost every machine. They organized their weights weird too (light dumbbells by the heavy dumbbells?) so just be ready to look around and wait a bit. It's nice looking tho. read more

After an 86-day hiatus, the Rec Ctr opened to limited participation today, including required online slot reservations, masks strongly required (on treadmills), and no bars for weight benches and power racks. Their reasoning is that, with the army of equipment cleaners, they cannot offer weight-spotting for guests. To be completely truthful, this was almost never necessary before COVID. "When will bars be brought back to the gym?" They could not offer a timeframe or even any criteria by which they would make this decision. But I can get a refund, which I elected to do. How long will that take? "About 5 weeks, in the form of a check". "But I paid with a credit card; can you refund there?" No. We changed our software in November. Sadly, after 12 years, I'll be shopping for another gym, as it doesn't appear the city understands why people liked the Rec Ctr. read more

One can buy just class passes if not wanting to use the facility or a membership to have access to the entire facility. Great options for people. I love the Dublin Recreation Center. I've been coming here since I was in high school, when I volunteered to help with a program they do here for children in the summer time. It was a pleasure to give back to my community and help enrich the children's lives at the same time. What I love about this community recreation center is the rooms for private gatherings and events. Which I've been to plenty here throughout the past several years from bat mitzvahs to company holiday parties the Dublin Recreation Center can host it all and does a great job at it as well. I also love the indoor swimming pool and track. Both are so convenient for me, since I run 5K's and like swimming. Plus it's family friendly so that's another plus for me. Anything that is family friendly is a great atmosphere for me since I don't like gym's that are just targeting certain age groups. Overall, I have never had any issues with Dublin Recreation Center and their staff are very friendly as well. I recommend this to anyone who loves family friendly settings. As well as if you need a great program to send your kids to in the summer. read more

Great community recreational center. They have a nicely equipped gym where you usually don't have to wait (or wait long) for machines or free weights. The staff is friendly and generally helpful. Nice swimming pool for laps and also a pool for recreational purposes that we used to visit when our kids were small. They also have a play area for younger kids and all kinds of different classes (martial arts, dancing, etc.). They also have several conference rooms for large and small parties etc. nice courts that can be converted to basketball/badminton etc. I wish they had an outdoor pool and it would have been good if the rec center membership included the aerobic classes. I came in last night with my son and his friend to buy daily passes so they could shoot basketball. I sat in the gym with them until I stepped out to take a phone call. When I walked back in I was approached by a rec center employee specifically asking me if those two boys were mine? As she pointed out the two small African American children. I said yes they are. She responded "Are they adopted?" I responded in shock, No. They are mine. She then stated " Oh, your husband must be African American?" Again, in shock I responded Yes. At that point she asked me how old they were? I advised 8 and 11 years old. She then proceeded to tell me the little one needs to have an adult supervision at all times. I advised I always supervise him, I only stepped out to take a phone call. I am a little taken back at the audacity that this conversation took place. I immediately felt hurt and angry. Unconscious bias and true micro-aggressions. Maybe she was truly curious with no malice however, there are better ways to ask. I don't know when I will be bringing my family back to Dublin Rec Center. read more

Make no mistake, the facilities are a 5/5. However, the employees and their attitudes need work. Had a bday party for my daughter here and called in with a few generic questions and was treated very rudely by whoever answered the phone. Then to make it worse, we get there and the lady who we were working with on the party room said there was a food fight yesterday that she had to clean up, and if we did anything like that we would be "kicked out immediately" and that she would "hand us a broom to clean up" I'm pretty sure my 6year olds aren't going to have a food fight. Take a few customer service lessons please. You had a bad day. Don't take it out on the next customer. read more

This place is a bastion of community and health. The vibe is very different than a gym--the combination of performance space, tables to work at upstairs, and even a Subway inside the place makes it different than just a gym. Disclaimer: I teach yoga classes there. I have always taught a rec centers because I like the vibe-- this one is a community center on steroids! Everyone is so friggin' nice! The gym and some aerobic classes are included in a membership, which is much less than $ someplace like Spectrum or LA Fitness. One thing that is a little tricky is some classes (like spinning, I think) require extra payment, but is it FAR more reasonable - like $8 a class, rather than a drop-in rate at places like Orange Theory or Barre studios. Went in to inquire on family memberships. The staff at all desks were very unprofessional, rude and clueless as to what they were talking about. They gave wrong information and prices, they weren't able to answer simple questions and were playing on their cell phones which seemed to be more important than gaining new members. Went to the pool area to look around and three life guess (two blonde females and one male) gave us the look of death. Horrible place. If you want an a out dated gym with horrible service then this is your place. LIFETIME offers way more for better price and customer service. This place should be embarrassed, it needs a face lift and replace all staff members immediately. read more

For those living in Dublin, the Rec Center is an affordable way to keep fit, shed a few pounds and excercise to your heart's content, in a variety of ways. The facility offers something for every one: 1. Large fitness floor with state-of-the-art equipment, including weights (free and plate-loaded), cardio machines and stretching area. 2. Indoor track - 1/13 mile. 3. Leisure pool, slides, lazy river, lap pool, diving boards, hot tub. 4. Fitness programs, spinning, Zumba, etc. 5. Basketball, volley ball, badminton, etc. 6. Teen room with big screen t.v., juke box, video games, computer stations. The facility is large, and not usually over-crowded. The only time it is a little crowded is the first two weeks after New Years, when everyone has made the resolution to excercise more. I paid the nonresident daily rate to use the pool yesterday ($20 for all of us). My daughter, 2 granddaughters and I enjoyed the warm water in the kiddie section, as well as the lazy river. I was a little disappointed in the seating. There are benches along 2 walls and only a few chairs. I saw some furniture in the lobby that was a little shabby. There is a Subway there as well, which is a nice perk. It was a nice outing for the kids; we may go back. read more

If you live in Dublin this facility is a great asset to community living. The price is very affordable and they have great facilities and programs. I train here five days a week and the equipment is always available. Fall, winter and spring my kids take swim lessons here and the instructors are amazing. The Subway they added a couple years ago was a needed addition. Now I can grab a quick and healthy meal after my workout. I do multiple triathlons per year and this facility has everything I need for my training. My kids love open gym Monday's and I enjoy watching them have so much fun at the Rec. I highly recommend for the entire family. read more

Been going here for about a year. Great facility and family friendly environment. If you have kids, this is a place to be. Not so much for younger people.. I play basketball consistently here and it is really nice to have gym availabilities online. I'd say competition is quite bad but the court is great. Lots of high school (and below) kids and some older people have pick up games here. If you don't mind the kids, it's a great place to go. Don't think any other gym around here offers this level of quality. I've been to Sports Ohio and YMCA and they both have terrible gyms. I pay less than $30 per month using corporate discount. Only catch is you cannot access the gym after 6pm (all access in the weekends). Keep that in mind if you don't work close to the gym. Overall good equipment and clean. read more

Recently moved from Dublin to Westerville. From a gym perspective, I'm always shocked to see people complaining about Dublin. Westerville's is fine, but the Dublin Rec is really a gem. It's huge by comparison. It can get a little crowded during peak hours (mostly high schoolers), but so what? The staff is awesome and the patrons seem to be genuinely nice people. Decent gym and go there due to my girlfriend living in Dublin. Men's showers smells like a unflushed urinal. I was unhappy with an employee who insisted to use headphones for music even though 1.) the entire 15 people in the aerobics room had headphones and couldn't hear anything other than their music and my music couldn't be heard by anyone other than myself. read more

This is the best place to play badminton. The league is run by Derek and he does a great job of managing the play - everyone gets fair opportunity to play with equally skilled players. It's competitive to get on the league and usually their is a waitlist. But once u r in I am sure you will not let go of your spot. read more
