I cannot say enough good things at the Pickerington's ATA Black Belt Academy. The instructors are kind, caring and compassionate and they truly care about their students. What's more, in addition to earning their black belts (1st degree and 2nd degree), my kids gained important life skills. They learned how to treat others with respect and dignity. What's more, the discipline they gained from training there, has transferred over into all aspects of their life including their academics and other athletic pursuits. I would highly recommend this school to anyone in the area. Additionally, if you have a sports-minded kid, the training they receive at Pickerington ATA will benefit them in their other sports. I have been associated with this school for 10 years. All of my children have participated at one time or another. They are invested in this community and support a family environment. Although we no longer live in Ohio, my son attended Pickerington ATA and loved every second. We joined with an eight week special and he loved it so much we signed up for the leadership program. The only reason that we left was we relocated to Kentucky. We still have yet to find an ATA that comes close to the wonderful staff, and welcoming environment. My son came here for a trial a while back... It was the same as every other ATA.. Bad instruction.... The instructor here did not look like he was a professional. It looks like his side job and he isn't good at it. My son complained that the other kids said some nasty things to him and he "hated" this place. We will be going to a much better karate school in the area. One with an authentic, experienced teacher. One that wont make my son cry! read more

ATA blackbelt academy is amazing.The Pavliks are fantastic teachers and wonderful people. They have great patience with the kids and so do their instructors. My son tried the 3 year old program and loved it. He just wasnt old enough to want to stick with it so we will be back again hopefully soon since he will be 5 and wants to come back. Professional, patient, and kind instructors! They never bat an eye at the little kids behavior (meltdowns, frustration, etc.) They calmly encourage, re-direct, and motivate students. My son was in Tiny Tigers and now Karate for Kids; he has been enjoying it for 1.5 years! ATA is our second home. ATA is a joke... it is a martial arts factory. They don't teach real taekwondo, you can NOT go to compete in a real Kukkiwon competition. All they care about is your money.
