Last time I was here The Brookside was under different ownership and that review probably would have been 2 stars. Since the new ownership has taken over they have changed some decor and brightened the place up a bit and have started doing some differently themed food days like a wing night and a southern soul food style Sundays event. The service here has been good the few times I've been in. I'm always greeted immediately and helped to a beverage and given a menu. I haven't experienced any long waits to get another drink and everyone has been very friendly. This review specifically is on their wings. We were in on a wing night and got the garlic ranch wings and the Kings hot honey wings. This wing special night has a list of sauces that changes weekly. You'll still have your staples every week but there are quite a few that rotate in and out so it doesn't get stale. My gf loves the garlic ranch and I'm consistently trying new flavors. I also had the blackberry bbq which were very tasty, and the plain Buffalo (The OG baby) also has good flavor. These wings are nice and crispy without sacrificing the juiciness of the meat itself. They are not tiny little wings but they are also not these mammoth ones you see at some places where it's impossible to get a proper cook on them and still have good texture. Hadn't been to this place in years because of the former policy of smoking allowed in the bar area which filtered into the dining room. Apparently new owners, renovations and now smoking not allowed. We went there on a weekday when two other choices were closed and were pleasantly surprised. Ordered a pizza and a salad for two, wine and a beer. Great pizza, good service and reasonable priced. Cool little dive bar! Was up in Tobyhanna with the fam for a little getaway and my wife and inlaws took the kids to a lake beach. It was too hot out for me so I dropped them off and looked for a local bar to get a beer and a bite. Found this place. Total locals vibe to it. Sat at the bar and was greeted immediately by the bartender who introduced herself as Renee. She was super cool and had me laughing about a couple things. Got 2 ipa's to drink, don't remember what they were, and got some wings. Wings were cooked perfectly and the beer was cold. Came in for two sandwiches and an order of mozzeralla sticks (asking for the order to-go since we needed to beat the traffic) and waited for almost an hour. We asked twice for an estimate of how long it would take before finally being told that it would be another 15 minutes. A NY deli would have put our order out in under 10, so I have no clue what they were doing in the kitchen. Tonight we tried out the Brookside Inn in Tobyhanna just off of 611- recently under new ownership. It's more of a local bar-bright and clean and welcoming. The menu is chock full offun bar food. We started out with slices of pizza, which had a nice, crispy crust and the perfect amount of cheese. I have yet to find a place close enough to our Lake Harmony home that I actually like the pizza-and this was definitely the best I've had in this area. The green bean "fries" with wasabi dipping sauce were my favorite of the appetizers that we ordered. The pierogies and mini tacos were also very good. We shared the cheesesteak and the patty melt-both were tasty-the patty melt is always #1 in my heart. Both were served with hand-cut fries, which I love. They have daily specials, including happy hour, DJ nights and live music, and you can even shoot some pool. Prices are great, especially for the beer. Staff was great and the drinks were perfect. Looking forward to see what the summer has to bring on their outdoor patio! Check them out if you're in the area. read more

Just left the Brookside Inn. The waitress was very friendly and seemed to care about the customer. It took over 30 minutes to get two hamburgers and fries. Not her fault but it sucked waiting 30 minutes for two burgers and fries! When I ordered my hamburger I specified, I did not want cheese on it. The menu did not say cheese, but I wanted to be sure that it didn't come out with cheese on it. Guess what, it came out with cheese on it. The waitress apologized a lot and said she would take it back and get another one. She came back out within about a minute and said she was sorry again. I told her they could just scrape the cheese off and it'll be fine. She said he probably already threw it out and was starting another one. Now I'm guessing I have to wait another 20 or 30 minutes for a hamburger and watch my friend, eat their burger while I sat there and waited. Horrible experience. This is not the waitresses fault and I felt bad about not leaving at least a 20% tip, but my thought is that's up to the waitress to chew the cookout because HE cost her a better tip! read more

Ordered nachos, chili cheese fries and a BLT with Onions rings. Literally all I can say is that the food was trash. Tiniest BLT ever. Nachos were stale with very little toppings. Chili cheese fries were bland. Incredibly disappointed will never order from them again. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. The place is absolutely filthy. The food is disgusting- the chicken soup was literally cold $1 canned soup being sold for $4.50, the pizza was soggy and tasted gross. The chili was literally dried beef and beans with cheese on top. The chicken Philly was by far the worst it had what I think was canned chicken that was dry with half melted cheese - it looks like it had been sitting out for hours. The rice balls have zero flavor which actually may have been an improvement compared to the rest of the food. The pretzel looks decent but honestly I'm hesitant to even try it. This place should be condemned. Go elsewhere. YUCK. Total waste of money. read more

This is exactly what you want in a back woods dive style bar/ restaurant. The wait staff were quick and friendly. The tap beer was nice and cold. They had indoor and outdoor seating available. It was close to 100 degrees that day so we did not check out the outside. The food was not expensive and you got what you asked for. These days, that impressed me. It has become rare that wait staff actually listened to your whole order! The bathrooms were clean. And no one makes you feel out of place. Plus there is a pool table. A definite plus in my book. This is on the list of places I will go back to. The pizza looked good but we had other food. We will try it next time. I will post pics of the inside next time. read more

I ordered for a group, some pizza Pies, wings, and fries and not only did it take an hour to get here but they forgot the pizza.... The owner was super friendly. Pizza is the best on the Mountain hands down no question. Cheesesteak pizza is amazing. The Chef salad is so big with alot of meat. Pizza is so good here I had to talk to the person that made it. He came out of the Kitchen so I told him how good it was he thanked us and walked back in the kitchen because it was so busy. They have an outside bar during the summer. There are only two I know of in the Poconos the other is at PBC but I really like this one because they have horseshoes. Our bartender was "ZAN" she was getting married so we gave her a great tip. Over all its a locals place and I love that, I can see why they are so busy now. It can be kind of great to alright depending on who is working. No management to speak of a alright pizza place owner(good location alright food) trying to run a bar with whoever happens to be working being in charge and making it up as they go one night people keep calling asking if the debate is on and the bar tender working says no and starts turning away business .. cooks cant cook a well done burger ( twice) I said its ok after pointing out the mistake so it must be right????( need that tip right full price it is ??then as the bartender wants to go home hey can you I mean do you wanna cash out before my shift is over um ...just checking I hoped a thought with new owners the food was going to be better at least I'm at 50% unacceptable but about typical bar food if its late your happy otherwise :( well i guess its ok tg for the good drinks S MAC and yes a real supervisor just go to Wendy's or burger king and get drinks after trust me read more
