We were staying at nearby Kalahari resort, and with two autistic kids, I needed very specific menu items that didn't break the bank. Reviews pointed here to Roberto's. It's a little mom/pop hole in the wall kinda place, but the food was terrific and the service outstanding. Small dining room with maybe a dozen tables. On a Thursday night, there was just one other couple there plus our foursome. Melissa was our server, and she was friendly and tried very hard to find things that would work for us. We ordered a kids ziti with meatballs (marinara on the side), an eggplant parmesan with linguini, a few slices of cheese pizza, and the night's special of lasagna with meat sauce. We got a few side salads, plus our entrees came with garlic bread. Everything came out fairly quickly and it was all very tasty. My only regret is not ordering additional garlic bread because the kids devoured all that was brought out with the entrees. The price was very reasonable (and certainly in comparison to the restaurants at Kalahari), and Melissa was a delight. (Sorry we aren't local, but just visiting from Virginia!) read more

It was over the Christmas holiday and I considered just not posting but the longer I sat with that decision the more I felt it was necessary. To be clear, the gentleman who I assume was the owner working that evening was a polite and friendly individual, and I think that is partly why I felt inclined to not post a negative review. In the end, my food was just extremely disappointing and rather overpriced. We ordered pizza with chicken mushroom and olives and buffalo chicken wings. The pizza crust felt undercooked and overly chewy, the toppings looked haphazardly scattered, and by no means generous and far less cheese than I would expect on a large pizza. The chicken wings looked OK at first glance upon trying them the skin felt very slimy and tasted off. I don't recall the exact price but I believe it was around $45 and for that price neither the quality nor quantity were justified. prior to ordering, I did notice similar reviews, expressing disappointment, but given that it was the only restaurant nearby we tried our luck and lost. The two stars I'm giving are really about the gentleman working that night, and are not at all reflective of the food. Sorry to have to post this kind of review , but in good conscience, I would feel bad if others had a similar experience that I could've helped them avoid. I was craving eggplant parmigiana and after looking at choices I chose Roberto's. We ordered a plain pizza and the eggplant parmigiana. The staff was very welcoming and Roberto is a wonderful person and cook!!! He is so nice and funny. He makes all the food fresh, "except the frozen fries!". Roberto's is a small Italian restaurant located in an unassuming strip mall. Having eaten their food many times in the past (albeit through takeout) we decided to go and eat in person. First off, Robertos has great hours and was consistently open. A competitor down the road, Amadeos, seemed to be closed all the time. Stepping into Robertos you see a small dining room on your left and a counter to order food to go ahead of you. The dining room has a sign saying to seat yourself. One of the employees at the counter came to take our order. I had noticed specials on a sign by the counter but the woman taking our order didn't voluntarily tell us. I ended up having spinach ravioli with another in our party ordering chicken parm. The spinach ravioli was delicious and homemade. The chicken parm was given rave reviews as well. The food arrived promptly and was delicious. The servings were the perfect size and the price was very reasonable. Both dishes came with garlic bread which was delicious. Things to know: -small restaurant -open Tuesday to Sunday from 12-10pm -service is a little slow in the beginning since employees are working in two areas in the restaurant -make sure to ask or check the board for specials -when your meal is completed, pay at the counter register -beer and soft drinks are available. This spot has the Best Stromboli's ever!! hugeeeeee we purchased the sausage and the broccoli roll. My favorite was the sausage. It came with red & green peppers and onions with a side sauce! Delicious!! We also ordered the Cheese Lover Pizza for my two son's. They loved it and neither of them are considered a vegetarian. If there's anything I've learned about restaurants is that they change. Sometimes for the better, most often not. The last order I picked up at Roberto's was bland, tasteless and a precipitous drop is quality from previous orders. We ordered a meatball parm sandwich and a large pizza, half pepperonu, half sausage. The pepperoni was good, the sausage less so. But the overall taste of the pizza was mediocre. A disappointing degradation from previous visits. The sauce used was bland and, well, not very good. This brings me to the meatball parm sandwich. A sunami of tastelessness. Because I was travelling I asked to have the tomato sauce on the side. When I got home ir gave me a chance to taste it by itself. If you opened a can of regular tomato sauce with no seasoning; this is what it tasted like. The meatballs were likewise bland. Simply a very disappointing visit. read more

Coming back from the outlets and was looking for some food to eat. All the other pizza places were closed and I found this place on Yelp. It is definitely a hole in the world kinda of place. It was a small place on the side of a road with nothing else around it. The inside is super old looking like 80's or 90's old and never updated. We order two pizzas and waited a half hour. Both pizzas were really big. We got the white sauce pizza and the Northern pizza. We really liked both pizzas very much. One pizza was more than enough for the 4 of us. From the huge potholes in the parking lot, to the rain holes in the ceiling, to the adjacent cigarette store that is awkwardly attached this fine establishment. The waitress was kind and bubbly...probably because she was drinking from the Yuengling Lager tap. Hey, more power to her! Overall, they do what they do pretty well. Our crew ordered pizza from Roberto's one night during our quick Pocono getaway a couple weeks back. At first, when we called the number, the phone rang for ages and we assumed the restaurant was closed. But we tried again a few minutes later and someone answered, so definitely give it a couple tries before giving up! We ordered one large cheese pie and the northern pie, with tomatoes, garlic, parsley, basil, mozzarella and sauce. A solid -star joint. For a little hole in the wall type place, the food was surprisingly really good! Do not be fooled by the outside appearance, this is a nice gem in the middle of nowhere. We got pizza, chicken parm, baked ziti, cheesesteak and a cheese burger. Everyone is our party of 11 (from ages of 2 to 56) loved the food. If you are in the area and need a quick bite, this place is where to go. I uploaded pictures of the menu. Hope that helps future patrons. We were staying at Kalahari over President's Day weekend and all of their in house restaurants were booked solid (except the buffet which was packed with families, ew). Yelp provided us with this restaurant as one of the closest options. We were very pleased with the food and the service. Also liked that at first we were the only people in the place, though another group came in. The family loved the pizza & cheese fries and the chicken parm meal was really good. I wish they had more than just beer to drink (can you bring wine? I wonder...) and the pierogies we ordered as an app were a little strange (dry and fried). We are visiting from out of town (our second trip to the area), but the owner made us feel like friends immediately. The pizza was very good. The cannoli was good as well, but not the best in the area. The food here beats the food at Kalahari Resort by a million and it is half the price. Pleasantly surprised by my experience here! It was so difficult to find a place opened on a Saturday night while staying in the area we were happy to find this place. It was a little difficult to find, we almost passed it following the GPS so I'd recommend you keep a lookout while on the route. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. We had a large group of about 11 and were welcomed and allowed to move our own tables together. After ordering, of course the food took a while but that's expected when it's so many people. I do wish the bread would've been brought out earlier, not just when the food was coming out because we were starving. I ordered the chicken parm which was amazing and such a steal for the price! My son wanted a meatball pizza for his birthday dinner. We were staying at a water park resort and figured we would have better luck at a regular pizza shop. My son ordered his meatball pizza. The waitress told him the meatballs just finished cooking and they could not slice them yet. Really you can't cut up a hot meatball and put it on a pizza. You cook the meatballs at 6pm. So he had a plain cheese pizza. This honestly was the worst pizza ever. The crust was raw. They didn't rush it because they were busy there were only one other couple in the restaurant.
