We were surprised by how good this taco place was in the Poconos. It is cash only with outdoor seating. A taco was 4-5 dollars which is notably cheaper than a lot of mediocre tacos in NYC. We liked the fish, pork, carne asada and beef tacos. They all had decent protein quantity and fresh toppings. The nachos came with very crunchy chips which held its crisp despite being topped with generous amount of sauce.

We were surprised it was so cheap-$5 for taco, but it's literally for 1 taco. I thought it'd be the standard 3 tacos per order but whatever, 2 was enough to fill me up anyway. We got breaded shrimp & bang bang shrimp tacos. The breaded shrimp comes "with queso fresco, shredded Napa cabbage, pickled red onion, roasted garlic salsa, & cilantro oil on corn tortilla. Never heard of cilantro oil before. Which species of oil is that? The bang bang shrimp is grilled, which I prefer. Both tacos are good, really good flavor, the sauce spills out with the first bite. It's a mixture of sweet, sour, salty flavors. We also got rainbow chili ($6). The chili contains "bell peppers, beans, smoked jalapeños, roasted corn, braised tomatoes, caramelized onions, garnished with queso fresco & cilantro oil." This is the best chili I've ever had. This might also be the only chili I've bought. I recall making chili once upon a time, didn't turn out anywhere near as good as this. This is chili done right. Like any good chili, this is somewhat spicy, so beware if you can't handle spice. Besides the spice & the bell peppers, it was perfect. A hearty, filling bowl of chili was the perfect way to end the meal. It's piping hot, so be careful. Chili is especially perfect for winter/cold weather. Even tho it's summer, we still loved it.

Wow! Totally unexpected, pure deliciousness! Well done! This tiny place sure knows how to serve up a solid meal. I thoroughly enjoy the beef and chicken tacos, nachos, and empanadas. Seems that their blackboard menu is set yet they offer specials as well. We asked regulars what to get and they couldn't pick bc they love it all. And I don't blame them. The place is small but exactly all you need with friendly staff and a fun environment. CASH ONLY!

We decided to stop here for lunch and we figured we would try some tacos, while in the Poconos. The food was average but not sure I was in love with their braised chicken taco, since it lacked the flavor I was hoping for. I also tried the crispy shrimp taco, which was better. Then we ordered the plain cheese quesadilla, which was surprisingly good, and the shrimp and lobster empanada. The service was quick. We ordered at one window and just keep in mind, that it's cash only. The ambiance is casual, and they only have outdoor seating. There are no restrooms, except for a couple of portable potty's, if you need a restroom. Definitely casual vibes if you decide to try Zach's Taco Shack.

My food was very good as always. My steak tacos were yummy!! I wolfed down my beef and cheese empanada so fast, I did not get a picture of it. I highly recommend this establishment if you are in the area.

Ate here for dinner as we stayed at the nearby Waterpark and was very surprised at the food. Ordered two breaded shrimp tacos, a steak taco, pork taco, and the lobster and shrimp empanada. Everything was delicious and great. Never had lobster and shrimp empanada and that was great! Wifey really liked the steak taco and the pork taco. lil is picky as hell and he really liked the shrimp taco. Staff was very patient and super friendly. Cash only and they have outdoor seating.

We decided to get takeout from Zach's Taco Shack with our friends during our trip to the Poconos. I ordered 2 tacos (steak and breaded shrimp) and Buffalo Chicken Quesadilla. The tacos were wrapped with 2 soft shells. I would recommend the breaded shrimp over the steak. The quesadilla was good. It had a good amount of cheese, but I wish there was a little more buffalo chicken piece. A few of my friends ordered a burrito and they were packed. The prices were good of the portion size and the staff was very friendly.

We haven't been back to Tannersville, PA for quite some time now and driving around yesterday there seem to be quite a few new establishments. We stopped by this roadside Zack's Taco Shack which has outdoor seating and porto-potty around the corner. This is a cash only place but they do have ATM machines on premise just in case. My wife ordered 1 mahi taco and 1 buffalo cauliflower taco, both on corn tortilla as requested. It came to be around $5 each and she enjoyed them and felt the ingredients were fresh and vibrant. My son got the rainbow chili which many people raved about. It actually was quite filling and wasn't spicy to the point of burning off your tongue. It had a nice, tempered taste to it. He also got 2 orders of beef & cheese empanadas which he claimed were out of this world. Each empanada is about $5. I got the loaded nachos with steak. While the presentation was not what I'd expected (meaning not melted oozy cheese) and lightly fried nachos, it was very tasty nonetheless. Our orders came out to roughly $42 which is very decent for today's inflationary standard. I would recommend this place and the cashier is super charming and social.

Stopped there during my travels because I was starving and the reviews. I ordered the chicken enchilada and steak with shrimp taco with a side of guacamole $18. Everything was bland and lacking of flavor. I'll give them another try if I happen to be in this neck of the woods again... maybe they were having an off day.

I ordered for pick up and it only took about 10 minutes for 3 tacos. I got the steak, pulled pork and chicken taco. They were all so flavorful! Loved them and so looking forward to coming back.

The staff was very nice and seated us promptly, we were sat at a table that was booth on one side and chair on the other but it was an extra tall bar stool type table. Soon as I sat down the sun was right in my eyes. Yes only a small nuisance till the bar tender shut a blind (because the bar folks were effected) but there were so many empty table. Why sit us at this table ? There were plenty of other tables that would not have had this issue. Not sure why the hostess would not know not to use this table for this time of day. Other then that the place was very clean and a normal pub type atmosphere. Nothing super special though. We started off with an appetizer called the "Texas Twinkie" - okay. I read "twinkie" and think some form of cake/bread with a filling. What we got was more of an egg roll. The outside was either a wonton type wrap or a tortilla then filled with brisket, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, jalapeño, and BBQ sauce. This was very delicious but definitely misleading in the name and the menu didnt really describe the item, it only give the name and listed the ingredients. I bring this up because we also ordered the traditional pizza.... what we got was more of a flatbread and pretty bland as well. Super basic bread with a lack of flavor marinara sauce and cheese. Also the sauce to cheese ratio was sad. You can tell this because all the cheese on the slice would come right off with 1 bite. We would not order this again based on the price and what was served. I also had the French onion soup. This was pretty well done. Not to salty, no crazy cheeses added. It was well balanced and was worth getting. My partners entree was the barley creek whiskey BBQ sauce on chicken tenders. These were just ok. The sauce seemed more tomatoe based then normal for a BBQ sauce and again just wasn't what one would expect from the name whiskey Bbq sauce. I am sure people do like this place but it wasn't very impressive to us. 3 out 5 stars is a fair rating as service was good for the most part, the place was clean with a decent amount of menu options, but the execution of the food lacked and the menu names are definitely misleading for the items we had ordered.

The flatbread was just okay, cheese was tasteless and broccoli was nearly raw. The beer was also just okay, I got the pumpkin, blueberry, cream ale, and Hefeweizen. Nothing to write home about. The blueberry was particularly bad - but the pumpkin was good. There was musical bingo which was fun, but they play the songs waaaaay too long, never been to a musical bingo like that. Maybe play each song for 30 seconds, this guy played each song for like 2 minutes it was crazy. In almost 3 hours they only had 3 rounds of bingo! Overall, I'm not running back to this place and didn't get any beer to go - rare for me from a brewery. Some staff was nicer than others. Shout of Aliya our sever for being very kind and attentive.

Sophia was our waitress and she was wonderful and patient with us. We had a little one with us and the entire wait staff was so kind to her. We ordered the calamari and fries as a starter and omg it was amazing. The fries were the best and we def needed to place a second order for another round of fries. As an entree, my sister and I ordered the chefs special to share. It came with a steak, crab cake, and lobster tail, steamed string beans, and mashed potatoes. There was also a variety of sauces. Everything was soo delicious and loved that we got a taste of everything with the platter. We enjoyed our dinner and loved the ambiance. As an out of towner who has access to amazing cuisine options in my area this restaurant gets three stars and that's being nice. When you walk in it's like a motel entrance. Literally it has all the tourist pamphlets lining the entrance to the hostess stand which doubles as the front desk of the hotel. It's not welcoming and feels cheap. To get to the restaurant you walk down a narrow long bar area where plenty of locals (I'm assuming) were enjoying happy hour. Loud and unwelcoming imho. We were seated in a two top which is super close to another two top. When I requested a booth in leu of the table (every booth was empty) the hostess said they were all reserved. Noting during our entire dining experience there were empty booths. Felt a little shady. Server was very sweet and great personality but unfortunately was not very fast. Every time she finally came back to the table she was apologizing for taking so long. She had other tables but wasn't in the weeds that we could see (in my youth I worked both as a server and hostess). The homemade bread we were looking forward to wasn't fresh and it was lacking taste as was the dipping oil. Adding salt and pepper helped the oil dip. Even though we were both hungry we didn't eat all the bread. That's a problem. We ordered clams as an appetizer. Again, tasteless needed salt, no flavor otherwise. For dinner, I ordered a seafood trio with Brussel sprouts. My husband ordered a fillet cooked, medium with a baked potato. The crabcake lacked flavor had way too much filling tasted like it came from Cisco. After a second bite, I would not eat anymore. The shrimp was ho hum and the lobster not that great either. My husband's steak was very bland no flavor in the meat even though it was cooked to temperature with a slight char on the outside. Because of the slow service and lack of flavor in the food we just wanted to check and get out of there as quickly as possible. What a bust for over $200.
