Food was Delicious! Is it authentic Mexican? I don't know, I'm Italian. I do know my wife wanted to go to this restaurant for her birthday. A new restaurant for us. We have been back 3 times since! Although not hard to find, it is on a side road. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We saw one review that stated the staff just stood around and spoke to each other. What I saw was one young lady whi spoke English very well, explaining the menu and the workings of the restaurant to a new wait staff member, who didn't speak English as well. Very safe friendly place Food was excellent Prices are about average, specials are available. Although the parking lot and dinning room are wheel chair accessible. I did find the step down to the men's room a little steep, with a walking stick. Might need assistance if in a wheelchair. My wife and I highly recommend this restaurant!! read more

So you may be thrown off by what used to be a motel surrounding this restaurant , but give it a chance. The kitchen / bar and part of the dining room are in what what's the motel office. The rest of the dining room appears to be one of the former hotel rooms. Service was welcoming and fast. Very clean restaurant. Drinks were excellent, namely the mango margaritas. I had a dish of pork chop, rice, beans and fried yucca. Pork chops were thin, well grilled and seasoned with enough salt; rice good; beans amazing - savory with good seasonings, perhaps some pork fat, hard to tell. Fried yucca was tasty, needed a touch more seasoning. All in all this was a great experience. Authentic Latin dishes, great service, excellent drinks, close to places like Great Wolf and Kalahari. This is a small tucked away restaurant. It's clean and has a relaxing home feel to it. The service is phenomenal with each staff ready and waiting to serve with a smile. I would give the service 5 s. Tortilla chips were provided as we awaited our meal. They were fresh and the two sauces (spicy and mild) were flavorful. 5 s Appetizer Fried green plantains with chicharron (fried pork belly) the plantains were fried to perfection, crisp and non greasy 5 stars. The chicharron was seasoned really well however the portion was very small. There were tiny bits of pork (barely any meat) added to the plantains. Increasing the size instead of bits of chicharron would have made this dish much better. For the portion size I would rate this a 3 stars Main dishes Pork chop with yellow rice and beans. The beans were hearty, plentiful and seasoned well. The rice was fine The pork chop was very small, dry and salty. 1 star The beef on the taco was dry and overcooked. It had very little flavor to it. Served with chunks of onions and cilantro but failed to offer the delectable taste of a true taco. It would have been nice to offer salsa or birria taco sauce as an accompaniment. This would have helped the taste of the meat (not the dryness though) 1 star The Tortilla on which the taco was served on was warm and soft. 5 star All in all with some tweaking this place could definitely be a five star place it has alot of potential. read more

We almost missed the small entrance among some apartment buildings. My wife and I had fantastic mango and passionfruit margaritas to start. The attentive host brought out hot chips and delicious salsa while the server/ bartender brought over beverages. Great authentic Latin food, especially for this area where you don't tend to see a lot of it. Prices are a bit much in my opinion, but it's very good regardless and some food is worth it every now and then. The service was quick and the employees were very attentive and kind. Great restaurant with great service. The food was really good and big portions. I have never seen such a big burrito. My husband couldn't finish it. We had enchiladas with green and red sauce and they were both really good. My husband and kid are vegetarians and they were able to make a vegetarian version of the burrito and enchiladas. I tried this spot while out of town for work and it didn't disappoint. When I arrived I parked in the lot. It is connected to an apartment area fyi and doesn't look like much from the outside. At first I was skeptical but gave it a try. I was greeted when I walked in by Andres, the owner. He was supper nice and so was the server Rachel. The place was cute and cozy. There is no bar seating so sat at a table in the back. I started with a sangria which looked like just regular red wine when it came out but was good to taste. The drinks are super cheap here. We just had lunch here with our two kids and it was delicious! Their margaritas are good, not too sweet, and they use good tequila. We were all really happy with our food. The quesadilla and enchiladas were tasty. I love that they have chicken fingers and fries on their kids menu. My picky 4 year old enjoyed the rice. All in all, a great place! read more

The place is off the main road in a little cut, doesn't look like much from the outside but all seats were taken with constant traffic. We arrived about 30 mins before closing on a Sunday. Waited about 5 mins or less for seating. We were served Nachos Grande and a glass of water prior to placing our order. I ordered the Bandeja Paisa which is white rice, steak, pork rinds, fried eggs, sausage and avocado and my wife had the Camarones al Aljillo which was yellow rice, shrimp in garlic and wine sauce with a side of avocado and salad. Both meals were good however I wouldn't recommend the Bandeja Paisa if you are very health conscious as it looks to pack a lot of calories as everything is fried but was worth the try as I only ate half of it. Once you know, you know. Mi Casa is a little gem. It's tucked away in a side street, and is in the middle of a hotel(?) parking lot. The atmosphere is casual, with wood paneling and booths. We always go for lunch when they first open at 11:00. My husband gets the chimichanga from the lunch specials menu ($10 for chimichanga, rice and beans, $12 if you add soup). I always get the tacos from the appetizer menu. Chicken, beef or pork, on soft corn tortillas, with whatever toppings you like. This is one of the few places I order tacos, because they will happily make them without cilantro (yuck). The pork is my favorite, so tender and juicy, but they're all very good. You can add rice and beans for an additional charge, but the tacos are plenty by themselves. It's a great lunch for two for about $30-ish with sodas. They also have a big menu and everything we see others ordering looks and smells awesome. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the servers! Always friendly, always helpful and smiling. I have been struggling to find food in the poconos area that I truly enjoy and I thought this place was great. I got the seafood rice and it was amazing. We ordered a pork, steak, and chicken taco each and they were really good! Great appetizer option! My friend got a chicken dish with rice, beans, and sweet plantains on the side that was amazing. She took her left overs home and had enough for lunch the next day. For dessert she got the churros with ice cream and I got the cheesecake burrito with ice cream. My cheese cake burrito was one of the best desserts I have had in the poconos after almost 18 months of living here. I highly suggest you order this if you are looking for something sweet at the end of your me. I will be back soon! I will bring friends. This is going to become my new go to place! read more

We're so glad we finally tried Mi Casa and look forward to visiting regularly! There's really no excuse for not getting here sooner as we've been hearing nothing but good reviews for some time. A quaint and colorful dining room sets a nice ambiance for a fun Latin-American meal. They offer a full bar with a nice selection of Mexican beers; we grabbed some Tecates to go with our chips and guacamole as we perused the menu. The tortilla chips were light, perfectly crisp and not too thick or greasy. The guacamole was really fresh and flavorful with a nice presentation. Two different salsas were served, a tomatillo and a salsa roja. The salsa portions were small in little cups that were kind of hard to dip in which is one of the only areas for improvement to mention. But we had the guacamole too so it was a great way to start! We were feeling in the mood for Mexican (there are many other Latin American specialties to try on the next visits). I ordered chicken enchiladas which are served with choice of red or green sauce. Indecisive, I asked the helpful server Joanna for her recommendation and she steered me toward the red. The enchiladas were fabulous, stuffed with chicken and cheese and perfectly saucy. I ordered pico de gallo and fresh jalapeños to accompany and the portions were generous. Noticing my love of hot and spicy, our server brought me a bottle of Yucateco habanero sauce which we promptly ordered off the internet for home! Rice and beans came with the entrées, and I must comment on the yummy rice: it's a simple thing but when the rice is perfect it elevates the meal. This yellow rice was on point. My husband had the fajitas (trio of beef, chicken, shrimp). He enjoyed it very much, especially the beef. The onions were really delicious (and make me think we need to try the Bisteck Encebollado next time around). Sadly we did not save room for churros, we actually needed a takeout box.
