Husband and I decided to go for dinner, and right when you walk in there's now an ATM machine and written signs everywhere saying we don't accept cards. My friend got the Joan Flaunta's (she usually gets her much loved chimichanga) and she enjoyed it completely. I ordered the fajitas and the waitress asked me how would I like my ground beef cooked, I looked at her confused and ask her since when is fajita made with ground beef lol. I thought she was playing but she was serious. I asked her about asada she said that's extra. Lol this was a first for me to have fajita made with ground beef. Then the food came out and it had a tangy smell to it. I looked at the person who came with me, they said it smells spoiled. We tried it and sure enough the food was spoiled. I almost never leave negative reviews for businesses but this place was terrible. Honestly I have nothing good to say about it. Do not go there it was the worst meal I have ever had. I have been here a few times on my lunch break. Do not go if you are on time restraints, my hour lunch was far too short for this place. I came in for lunch with three other people - and it took us just shy of 2 hours to get in and out. I had the chimichanga once, and it was very bland. I ended up dumping salsa and cheese on it to add some flavor. The next time I had Reyna's Taco Salad, I have gotten this for every meal that i've had since (about 3-4 more times). It is plentiful, the lettuce and vegetables are fresh. The hot sauce selection is fairly large, as well. It's not great, but it's not a bad place to eat. Very middle of the road. read more

The food is just OK, nothing outstanding from a "Mexican " restaurant. We've been here a few times and the food was average. The booth seats are like sitting on a bean bag, you sink in and not in a comfortable way. Loaded nachos, loaded fries and the empanadas are winners. Now, they serve gyros - YES!!!! So yummy too! I built my own burrito and it was so fresh; the menu shows all 16 ingredients you can choose to include and I opted for Shrimp plus everything else minus cilantro. There aren't a lot of sit down restaurants in the town of Brodheadsville to choose from. I didn't feel like I having Italian or Chinese food so I tried out Crystals, a restaurant that serves Mexican which I've been missing. Crystals is the only Mexican restaurant in the area (unless you wanna count Taco Bell...). I came in Friday early evening, with my boyfriend for dinner. The restaurant was quiet, only two other patrons were in the establishment. We had two lime Jarritos to start off with and chips and salsa on the house. The chips and salsa was impressive. They were toasted and the salsa was delicious topped with cilantro, seemed homemade. For our entrees, I ordered the Seafood Paella and my boyfriend ordered the Carnitas tacos with refried beans and rice. Both excellent and really good portions, great prices. The seafood paella was sooo tasty! One of the best paella I've ever had. The service was very attentive and friendly. I would definitely come back and I hope they stay in business. read more

My friend loves it here, so I meet her when we both have time, but last time, my bill was 25 for an entree and a seltzer water, so I think I'm going to suggest another restaurant next time. Traveling in the area for work and I came acrosss Crystals in yelp. It seemed like most local places are fast food, and I normally try to stay away from that. Upon reading the reviews I felt like Crystals was a good option I couldn't decide if I wanted Mexican, so it was nice To see a number of different options. Went by reviews and ordered so believe I need to describe a more accurate review - this is NOT an AUTHENTIC Mexican restaurant! My boyfriend wanted to order Shrimp Flauntas & was told it couldn't be made b/c they fall apart when frying so he ordered a Chimichanga (which was huge) average. I had the chicken nachos and was disappointed (tasted bland and like canned chicken). Server was super friendly and the selection of hot sauces were both great and positives of a mediocre experience. This place has hit the nail on the head!! Brodheadsville didn't have a lot to offer in terms of full service restaurants and this was a welcomed addition to town. The service is wonderful. I HIGHLY recommend the Mexican Street Corn. My Lord, this was freaking delicious!! I should have ordered more!! They package their to go orders with the best care i have EVER experienced. My first time trying this place for a gyro. I was super satisfied with the flavor and the amount of meat they stuffed inside the pita. I'm a native to Astoria Queens in NYC where you could find delicious gyros. Very nice customer service and I'm going to visit again and try out their Mexican food. read more

I utilized YELP to look for a restaurant for lunch and saw that Crystal's is close to Effort PA. I looked up the menu and reviews on YELP. All the great reviews are true! We walked in and liked the decor and cleanliness of the restaurant. You can see Crystal preparing the orders in open kitchen (I love that!) We started talking with the exceptionally friendly staff and decided to order chicken enchiladas, beans and rice, guacamole and chips, and my husband had to try the Cuban sandwich. We chatted with the staff and visited a candy shop in the same strip mall while we waited for our order to be prepared All was fresh, well prepared and tasty! We will be back! read more

First of all, thank goodness for a little variety in this area!!!! This used to be a Greek restaurant that the new owners bought out. It seems they kept some of the Greek items on the menu, however the Mexican/ Spanish dishes are what you need to come for. Crystal, the owner, is such a sweetheart as well as the super friendly staff!!! We ordered out, should've taken pictures to show but was starving. Got the fried jalapeno poppers and Mexican corn for an appeziter!! To die for. Should have ordered more than one corn!! My husband got the BBQ smothered chicken and I got the steak chimichanga, the portions are generous neither one of us could finish. Once again DELICIOUS!!!! Got the baklava for dessert which was OK, but again I think you come for the Mexican food. Since they just opened, I hope they stay consistent with the food quality and portions. Just opened under new management and big change of cuisine from Greek to Mexican. Give them a chance. The Mexican dishes I have have tried are spot on. They are made for all palates so if you are looking for "fire" you can add all you want. The Chili is killer and the Pizole is right on the money. They are working on perfecting their Tamales and today that are getting close to the what I remember in El Paso from the ole mamacita on the back of her pickup tailgate while waiting at the packing houses to load. read more
