I ate at the other pizzeria around the corner and someone mentioned this place, so I thought it would be nice to try it out. This place was darker with booth seatings. The pizza tasted good but was too greasy for me. The cheese had a lot of condiments in it. Besides the grease, the crust tasted very good, it wasn't chewy. Both pizzerias have owners that looked unhappy. If I had to pick which one to go to for pizza, it would be the other, the pizza had less ingredients in the cheese and they were cheaper.

Hair in the pizza. I'm blonde. It's not mine.

$26.50 for a pizza with canned mushrooms instead of fresh and a hair! The crust was dry, and there was so little sauce on one half, it looked like a white pizza. Very disappointing. Whole pizza ended up in the trash.

Def a hole in the wall kinda place. Very dark and bit dingy and very outdated inside but the area is very rural so I don't expect 4 star dining. I gave an extra star bc the fries were good but they made my chicken cheesesteak with cheddar cheese....um ok. Chicken was so bland I hate to saturate in salt and pepper. Pops said his burger was decent but he eats anything. I'll take my chances somewhere else next time:)

Definitely not the best. The pizza was tasteless, the pie were huge tho. 3 pies almost $60. Very disappointed because I wasted $60 on a very tasteless pizza.

Would like to give this 3.5 but Yelp doesn't allow 3.5. So my crew and I are visiting Jack Frost for snowboarding and this place is 6 minutes from our condo. The menu was in the condo so we assumed it was a recommendation. The crew collectively gave it a rating of high 6 low 7...out of 10. Definitely not as bad as some of the other reviews. I even saw someone said "Italian food not by real Italians". First off rude, secondly there definitely were traditional Italians there. But anyway really not the point lol. So as you can see in the pics it was presented well. We picked it up We ordered 2 cheese pizzas and the dough was really thick . The cheese was fine, pizza could have used more sauce. The chicken does not have any seasoning (we got a 12 piece naked and a 12 piece hot) the naked was not great So make sure to get it hot but it's HOT. Anyway. When not many options in the area and open late this place is totally fine to go to! Get some pizza yall.

Good pizza (from Philly so I know a decent pie). Big garlic knots (although didn't come w marinara). Has pasta dishes (homemade lasagna, manicotti, stuffed shells; though penne vodka would be nice) that come w salad and garlic knot for $10. HAS BEER TO GO... if you don't feel like going to beef distributor, although Frostys is just up the road ~10 booths. Nicer seating area than Frenchies (2 tables, more for takeout) or Galianos. Decent wine for under $5 a glass. Has bar signs on outside bc is half bar/half restaurant so we almost didn't go bc didn't have menu/website (I posted menu - see pics) but was family friendly and even had homemade cannolis. Even has Philadelphia water ice Service was a bit slow (server does come to table but maybe faster to order up front), but overall a good meal.

By far the best restaurant we dined in during our Poconos vacation. Walking in, we quickly realized…read morewe were in a hot spot because the place was busy for a Tuesday night in September. Despite not having a reservation, we were able to be seated. But I do suggest planning ahead and reserving a table. Especially if you visit during high season. Anyhow, the service was excellent. Our server, Sam was extremely attentive. She explained the menu to you and shared some recommendations. We started out with a Caesar salad to share and knew right then that the servings would be ample! The kitchen was kind enough to split the salad for us between two plates and I'd have thought just half was shareable. But lucky us, plenty to indulge. We absolutely LOVED the dressing but found it a slight tad heavy handed. If we make it back, we'd definitely ask for dressing on the side. But nonetheless we appreciated the authentic Caesar dressing complete with anchovy paste. For entrees we had the penne vodka with sausage and shrimp 360. Both plates were big enough to feed an army and made for nice left overs. But make no mistake, both were delicious! Hit it out of the park, delicious! And beautiful al denté pasta. This meal really hit the spot. Even though we were completely stuffed, we managed to find room for homemade pumpkin cheesecake! I don't say this lightly, but it was hands down the best slice of cheesecake I've ever had. We couldn't stop raving about out it! This is a great restaurant to visit when visiting the Poconos. The setting was elegant in an understated way while being incredibly cozy! I think it would be great for larger groups but also intimate enough for couples.

Basso Cucina Italiana is an Italian restaurant and wine bar that opened in Cresco, Pennsylvania in…read moreJuly 2010. It was founded by members of the Pipolo family, including Bill Jr. and his wife Kim. The Pipolo family, including father Bill Sr. and mother Fabiana, had moved to the Poconos area from the Bronx, New York in 1984. Bill Sr. had a construction business which sons Bill Jr. and Peter worked in after graduating from high school. Bill Jr. first had some experience in the hospitality business when he owned the Calico Kitchen in Canadensis. When a location formerly home to Harrison's Tavern became available, the Pipolo family acquired it with the intention of turning it into an authentic Italian restaurant. The whole building was completely redesigned to resembled a trattoria in an Italian mountain village. Basso became a full Pipolo family endeavor. Even the grandchildren can be seen greeting guests and bussing tables from time to time. Bill Jr. and Peter later purchased the former Jagermeister German restaurant down the street and turned it into the PourHouse Neighborhood Bar & Grille after a renovation. My family and I visited Basso for dinner on a recent trip to the Poconos. We had previously visited the Pipolos' other restaurant, The PourHouse, and were excited to try their take on authentic Italian fare. The interior was nice and cozy. After looking over the menu, my wife and I decided to start out with some cocktails. I had the "Limoncello Spritzer" while she had the "Peach Berry Pink Sangria". Both were very refreshing! For our entrees, I had the "Pork Chop Di Parma" (juicy 12-oz. pork chop topped with prosciutto and red wine demi-glaze served over risotto), my wife had the "Cherry Red Shrimp" (sautéed shrimp with garlic, cherry tomatoes in a fresh basil butter sauce over linguine), our older son had "Tortelloni with a Pink Sauce", and our younger son had "Baked Ziti". Although the wait for the food was a little long, it was well worth it because everything was to die for! Our server was also very friendly and helpful. It's also worth noting that parking is very limited, so definitely try to stop in on the early side. We had an excellent experience at Basso and give them our seal of approval!

First off, we got there early and sat down at the bar for a drink before our 6p reservation. Only problem was the bar tender never acknowledged us for at least 5 minutes even though she looked right at us making drinks. Luckily one of the waitress said hello and told us the bar tender would be right with us. I assume she noticed the bar tender ignoring us. The hosted was very nice and sat us early when I let her know my wife and I were here but my friend wasn't here yet. After we sat, our waitress never checked in to see if we wanted anything as we waited for my friend. I had to wave her down to let her know we would like to order a few appetizers. The appetizers, were simply just ok....Fried Zucchini and a few meatballs. Why I ordered Chicken Parm after tasting the meatball appetizer and not really digging the sauce. I should have gotten the Chicken Marsala.... My bad on that one. Needless to say I only ate half the Chicken Parm. My wife only ate a quarter of her Eggplant Parm. My friend did enjoy his Lasagna.... So there is a plus. Not that I will be in Bloomsberg Pa anytime soon but I know if I was, Rose Marie's won't be a place I would try again. Sorry... I rarely right bad reviews... but Rose Marie's is just not that good.
