Thanks Yelp! I would never have found this place without your assistance and recommendations. This nondescript building is setback off Main Street with a small parking lot in front. Fortunately they have a sign near the road and a flat gray sign over the door. If it was me, I would have bright colors and flashing lights pointing the way. This was really good! The interior has a variety of tables in the central dining area with little pocket lounges on either side. There's even a library of books rising to the ceiling on the right. I placed my order at the counter (they have a bell to cling for service if the person who manages the counter is in back.) I was greeted and asked if I wanted something from the all day breakfast menu or something more suited to a later meal. She offered to make some suggestions once she found it was my first visit. I went with the Chicken Salad Sandwich which came on a croissant that was light and flaky, but sturdy enough to hold the ingredients that included greens. The chicken was cooked properly and the taste was delicious. I got Broad Ripple Chips along with the sandwich and those were crunchy and tasty too. The wait time was minimal (maybe 10 minutes), so I was soon devouring my meal and ready to go. Note that if you are interested in simply having water, they have a self serve dispenser and jar type glasses on the end of the counter. They also have a variety of teas and coffees for those who are interested. I found the staff and the interior to be inviting, much like you would find at a nice coffee house, but with some small town charm. I would gladly dine here again when I'm in the area. Review #2551

My sandwich was so good I almost FaceTimed my best friend to show her. I am always hesitant to get chicken salad at a restaurant because my mom makes the best chicken salad. This is now a contender for the best chicken salad I have ever had. 10/10 would suggest

Great coffee shop with a great atmosphere! The source most things locally, from their greens to the barbecue sauce. The menu is small, but used to be more limited. Now they have multiple kinds of burgers and even pulled pork, both of which are excellent. My wife really enjoys the Green Goddess sandwich, and she loves the gluten free items they have. Their Saturday cinammon rolls are worth trying too.

This was a nice spot for lunch while visiting family in Indiana. The food was very good. We had the green goddess and chicken salad sandwiches with the South African salad. You could tell the greens were fresh and the chicken in the chicken salad wasn't canned or anything. I'm not quite sure what made the salad South African, but it was tasty. After eating mostly onion rings and deep fried stuff, this was definitely a nice change. My husband is a vegetarian and it was nice to have good veggie options. Service was very friendly but a little slow. I liked that they had some local handmade items (soaps, art, and pottery). Overall, I would return and recommend this place to other folks in the area.

This homey little cafe was great for a morning road trip for a breakfast sandwich that I'd eat a million more times. Very tasty, healthy, and thoughtfully prepared. I'd be incredibly happy to make my way back here to order more off of this menu. The staff are quick and kind while the food is healthy, filling, and delicious.

A cute, quaint cafe that I believe holds the true essence of the people in Upland, IN. The owner has a true passion for the community + the people and it conveys through her customer service. Coffee, breakfast, and delicious sandwiches are provided. A great spot to relax, read a book, or spend time with a friend. A modern day cafe that adds personality to the town! I had the Italian BLT on the day of my visit, and I was highly impressed! The sandwich was made fresh on specialty breaking. It was complimented with a blackberry izze. I will definitely be returning the next time I'm in town.

The green goddess sandwich is incredible!

Used to be good. Not so much. Soup was cold, salad had no dressing or avocado as the menu indicated.

I LOVE the atmosphere of this cafe. The drinks and food are not that great though. Great place to study away from your dorm or meet friends.

Ivanhoe's (Upland, IN) - it's shortcake season at Ivanhoe's!!…read more That time has arrived! Ivanhoe's is now serving one of their most popular and delectable dishes. Beware...the crowds are big and the lines are long. But...it's worth the wait!! At the bottom is a medium sized cube of slightly warm shortcake. It is moist, sweet and slightly firm. The top of the cake has a thin layer of almost crispy granulated sugar - more sweetness! The bowl is piled high with fresh, lush, red strawberries. Some sweet, most firm and a little juicy. A good sized dollop of vanilla soft serve and whipped creme lay on top. The combination is delicious! It easily feeds more than one dessert lover for about $9.50. Strawberry Shortcake marks the start of spring season. Make a special trip to Upland to visit Ivanhoe's if you have never been there!

I don't understand the hype?…read more We stopped by Ivanhoe's for lunch during a work trip. I've been told the place is supposed to be an "Indiana destination location"... I don't get it. Ivanhoe's was ok, but nothing special. It's like a rundown and dilapidated Culver's, but with a smaller menu and the food isn't nearly as good. We got there at 11:40 and it was busier than a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest... It was literally like an AARP Club in there (we were the young whipper snappers). The service was friendly, but it took 40 minutes for us to order and get our food... Their operations were super slow and inefficient. The food itself was alright (decent pork tenderloin) and they have an ice cream menu the size of Texas, but overall it just wasn't anything to write home about. Ivanhoe's is your quintessential podunk small town Indiana restaurant, which is cool but not worth all the hype... Good? Yes. Great? No.
