It is rare these days to find good quality food at a reasonable price in a very pleasant setting. I am a dedicated fan of the Broasted Pork Chop at Richard's and rarely deviate, but this trip I did just that. I had the Chicken Liver special after inquiring if the same Pork Chop coating was used. I thoroughly enjoyed my Chicken Liver's and will not hesitate to order them again. They were very tender and tasty. I shared one with my dad and he said the same. My dad had the Pulled Pork Slider special which he said was very good. He did not notice the description that they came with coleslaw, pickle and onion on top of the sandwich which is not his thing. He simply took off the extra's and ate them on the side with his waffle fries. Once again as we left headed home we said the drive to Hartford City and Richard's is well worth the trip.

That said, idk what was going through his head, but he was wearing an "Insane Clown Posse" accessory, so my guess is that he was a spiteful person who knew what he was doing based on my exposure to that crowd. Ok fine. So I said well let me get two plain whoppers with cheese and that I'm not mad about the breakfast sandwiches but in the future don't charge customers full price for something that doesn't have everything on it. Ok now I get my food. To my surprise it had everything on it a burger could hold. Ok this is starting to irate me. I return for a third time and my father had to ask once again for our order of two plain whoppers with cheese. Ok finally we get our food right? Well the Burger King decided to not only impose another tax on us again and charge us full price for the two regular whoppers (as in the plain whopper with cheese is cheaper than a regular whopper because of toppings) but gave us NO CHEESE AT ALL. We decided we had endured enough of the burger kings tyranny and will now complain online about it as my Declaration of Independence of never going there again. I don't play with donuts. I'm a donut-eating fool. Donuts are my thing. I have glaze running through my bloodstream. I've never eaten better donuts than the ones I got from Concannon's in Muncie. In fact, I'm planning another trip to Muncie JUST to visit Concannon's and get some donuts. What's a two-hour round-trip drive when you can be rewarded with amazing donuts during your journey? I visited Concannon's by myself, and although I wanted one of each of the donuts they had in the bakery case, I limited myself to three donuts: a glazed pretzel-shaped yeasted donut, a blueberry cake donut and an old fashioned donut. My go-to at any donut shop is usually a glazed twist, but they don't have glazed twists here! Instead, they have a glazed pretzel-shaped donut, which turned out to have all of the elements of a glazed twist, but it was just bigger and more twisty. It was amazing, pillowy, slightly sweet and even more delicious when you pull it apart with your fingers and eat it bit by bit. The blueberry cake and old-fashioned donuts were my favorites, though. These melted in my mouth, especially the old-fashioned. It was so tender and fresh. The old-fashioned is one of those kinds of donuts that I wish I enjoyed with some coffee, but instead, I ate it solo while dancing around delightedly in my hotel room. Concannon's has lots of other sweets, desserts and baked goods, like cakes (including mini cakes and individual cake slices), cookies, whoopie pies, chocolates, popcorn, candies and all sorts of other goodies. There is also a cafe with coffee and other beverages available. This is a must-visit if, like me, you love donuts, but also a must-visit in general because it's such a Muncie institution.

While I grew up on Concannons and it delicious, they use super refined ingredients. I don't know if it's cheap overly refined sugar or cheap overly bleached flour. But there's something to it. The flavor is there, but I can't breathe afterwards and my body shuts down. It's hardly organic or clean. Wish the would fix this, cause I'd love to suooort local and I'm willing to pay more. I only eat their food when my family buys. But I wouldn't buying my own because I feel congested, fat, exhausted after eating.
