Jeanetta is absolutely astounding! I can't even begin to tell you brides how amazing she is. Like many, I searched and inquired to many places to get my dress altered. The dress was too long, I needed a bustle, and I wanted the v neck picked up because it was too revealing for my liking. I called so many places and the cost was ridiculous, I felt like they were charging me another dress. I didn't really want to go to downtown, like so many people say to go. I wanted to go to someone that had a reputation and Jeanetta was the one. I called her and we booked an appointment. She tells you what she will do. The cost, at least for me, included 3 fittings. Each time I felt even more excited with the progress. My mom only speaks Spanish but she explained to her how the bustle needed to be the day of the wedding. I wanted the v neck to be picked up and she had no problem weaving the material and blending it in so nicely. Her prices are totally doable. She is flexible with her time. I had to cancel a couple times and went in earlier than I had to on one appointment (my mistake) but she took me in quickly. I was so happy with how the dress turned out. This is not a review based on services because none were rendered. I made an appointment for my wedding dress in mid December for January. The day before my appointment came and nobody confirmed the appointment. Normally I'd think that was weird except other reviews mentioned she didn't confirm appointments the day before. The day of my appointment comes, I drive an hour to get to Burbank to find nobody at the location. I call and it goes straight to voicemail. I leave a message. I think sometimes people are late no big deal, wait a half hour and still NOTHING. I call again, no answer. I leave another voicemail indicating I'll no longer be using her services although it seems like she forgot I was going to be anyway. Definitely frustrated to have driven an hour out of my way for one thing and then have to drive an hour back not receiving those services. But honestly glad I didn't leave my dress there as she seems very unreliable. Still never received a call back explaining what happened. read more

I found Jeanetta through Bhldn's recommended tailors like many reviewers. To start, my dress required a strap shortening and hemming only. Easy, right? She also suggested adding a bustle to the back. I didn't cross reference her pricing but I thought $200 seemed fair-ish for this work. She delivered the dress on time and it fit great... except that the hem was super uneven. Luckily it's a full skirt on bias so it moved a lot and didn't completely ruin the day, but it bothers me in a lot of our photos. It might have been partly the quality of the dress but I wish she had at least mentioned it to me instead of passing it off as acceptable work. STAY AWAY!!! TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE! I came to Jeanetta because she was a preferred vendor of BHLDN. She was extremely RUDE and will make your bridal experience an unpleasant and stressful one. She has no people skills and is very ignorant. She doesn't care to please her customers and kept telling me to take my business elsewhere. My first issue was the cost. After each appt, the price kept going up and up. I explained to her that I'm a young military bride and if she offered any sort of military discount since my husband is an active duty US Marine. She basically laughed in my face. I brushed off her rudeness and let her know I would like to keep the price as low as possible. She was adding so much "extra work" that wasn't necessary to my dress which is why it was so expensive. After my second appt, we got into a disagreement because I couldn't understand why the price was increasing. She told my family "since money is such an issue for you, why don't you take your dress to someone else?" Basically saying we can't afford her work. WHO SAYS THAT TO A PAYING CUSTOMER!? I was in disbelief. She also had no shame in shouting and screaming at us and giving us the most attitude I've ever experienced. After my first appt, I found out I was pregnant and called Jeanetta immediately to let her know so she can pause all work around my waist area (which she hadn't started). After our constant disagreements, she was BLAMING me for becoming pregnant and interfering with her work saying "well it's not my fault she got pregnant!" to my mother! SHE SAID THIS TO MY MOTHER! Despite my wedding being 3 months away, she was willing to fix my dress. Her pricing was very reasonable because her work is quality and she really goes through every detail of your gown, including the bustle! And there were no surprise fees at the end! Gown: My gown was apparently 4 sizes bigger than my actual size and she fixed it to where it fit me like a glove. She worked through all of the layers, the beading, and the lace. The end result was absolutely stunning! Everyone, including myself, couldn't believe that this was a dress that did not fit me before. Backstory: For my wedding I was supposed to get a dress fit to my size, but in the end I had a bad experience with that vendor (too long of a story). I was left with no choice but to find a dress at a boutique that offered dresses off-the-rack since my wedding was only about 3 months away. First off, my dress was not ready until the absolute last day I needed it, the day I was traveling to my wedding destination! This was only TWO days before my wedding day. Luckily, the dress fit well. At my reception, the bustle on my train ripped the fabric and caused two holes in my train. After the wedding I got in contact with Jeanette letting her know what happened and we set up an appointment for me to bring the dress back to her so she can fix the rips/holes in my train. I was not upset with her and did not blame her as I know my train was very long and heavy. I showed up for my appointment but she was no where to be found. I called and texted, no answer. I followed up a couple weeks later and still no answer. Looks like she has ghosted me and is refusing to fix the dress. I'm pissed because not only did the dress rip due to her work but Burbank is not close to my home. I wasted time off from work and gas just to be stood up. Met to see if alterations could be done to a 70's wedding dress for my soon to be daughter in law. The meeting was quick, honest, reasonable. Will post after as my daughter in law arrives into the U.S. Fittings and all alterations have to be completed on a very tight time schedule for her to fly out again. Completed job (Wow!). What a wonderful job. Done by one of the sweetest ladies I have met. I was not there for the pick up on the final product to see all the details (hems) but I will post the before and 2nd fitting not the final for you to see. First visit picture dress with long sleeves and neck high old fashion lace. Turned into no sleeves low neckline with lace added to the back. I would use her again and highly recommend her! Great job Jeanette. As in any business I make sure communication is clear. We paid 1/2 up front in a check and balance (cash) upon picking up of the final finished product. At which time Jeanette provided a written receipt for the cash payment. She also purchased a high quality strapless bar for her that was not needed. The quality was so nice and the price so good we decided to purchase it anyway. It does look so much better with it. A Wedding shop would be more than double. Jeanette prices are low considering others shops. Our quoted price increased from our first meeting without the bride and only the dress and I to see what options were possible. But upon first fitting additional items came to light that increased her work. Little additions here and there, but not a dime more than she quoted after seeing the dress on the bride to be and the extra items. All approved before work was started. Sadly I would recommend to her that customers sign off on detailed paperwork. To avoid reviews like one I read. As for the negative reviews I always consider what is being asked for. When you're looking for someone to provide alterations for the most expensive and most important gown you'll ever own in your life, it's pretty nerve wrecking. When I first me Jeanetta, she immediately put me at ease. She is the sweetest person ever and will give you an honest and fair opinion regarding your alterations. I want to say that the first few months were great. Jeanette did great with a few alterations, until the week of my wedding. I HIGHLY recommend that you try on your dress for the last time in front of her because she ended up altering the wrong section. Of course she denied that or accused me of gaining weight (when I actually lost another 3 more pounds), but as a professional, she should of encouraged me to try it on anyways before handing it to me. Anyways, the problem occurred the day before my wedding when I decided to try on my dress at home (i had a weird feeling in my gut) and realized she altered the back when she was suppose to alter the sides. Thank god my MOH knew about the 24/7 alteration place in Burbank. They saved my dress! The problems didn't end there. My bustle broke, my belt broke (because she didn't do a good job on sewing it) and my bird cage veil did not stay in place when I specifically asked her to use alligator clips. Instead, she argued that she's not a professional veil maker! Well lady, if you can't listen to your customers that know their hair type well or do the job correctly, then don't offer the services! I called her immediately the day after my wedding. I sent her pictures for weeks. She argued and accused me of trying to get my wedding finances back, or that non of this was her fault and blaming it on me or the alteration place that literally saved my dress! In the end, she FINALLY sent me a check and wrote on it that it was the amount that we agreed too. NO IT WASN'T! I never agreed to getting that little back, I wanted half of my money back! So if you get your wedding dress alteration with Jeanette, my advice is to know a back up alteration place, try on the dress in front of her, make sure you have a lot of safety pins to hold your dress because your bustle might break, have a lot of bobby pins because your veil might fall, and needle/thread to sew on your own belt. I don't mean to be rude and hardly ever write bad reviews. But its a shame that Jeanette could not own up to her mistakes after I provided soooo many pictures and proof of how my dress fell apart. I barely got my money back and couldn't get the bank to help me out because I paid through a check. Please be super careful. Just because she's had 30 plus years experience does not mean that she does a good job. read more

I wanted something simple but elegant for my destination (tropical) wedding and needed a bustle that my fiancé (now husband) could help me do. I wish I came here first!! Be wary of the few poor reviews, there's just no pleasing some brides. Jeanetta was amazing and a delight. You can tell that she's very experienced and really cares about your dress being perfect for your day. At first, I went to another bride tailor in West Hollywood as I bought my dress out of state and didn't know that Jeanetta was the preferred BHLDN vendor. A few months after alterations elsewhere, I needed a quick change on my dress (removing extra cups). Since Jeanetta was just down the road, I decided to ask for her help instead of my previous tailor. But when I got in, she had me practice walking and dancing (not something my previous tailor did) and we discovered a lot of issues with my lace hem being too long in areas, tripping and stepping all over it. It was hemmed incorrectly and my bustle was done incorrectly. Given what I had already paid in previous alterations, I was very worried about how much it would be to fix these issues that shouldn't have been there. However I found Jeanetta's pricing to be very fair, and lower than I was expecting for the industry; many won't even give you a quote without money down. Huge relief. She made the changes and my dress is perfect now! She even had me film her doing the bustle so my bridal party would know how to do it. Can't thank her enough! read more
