I want to start by saying that Jeanetta is the absolute sweetest person!!! She's very warm and welcoming and you can tell she is passionate about her craft. I needed a lot of work done to my dress. I had sleeves custom made from my dress shop and they didn't fit my shoulder very well. The snaps to connect the sleeves didn't work very well either so she offered to completely remake new ones only reusing the lace that came with the sleeves which I didn't even realize was an option! I am SO grateful that I got to work with Jeanetta as my wedding dress tailor. She is not only gifted and dedicated to her craft, she is the most amazing and sweetest human being (isn't it awesome when people are both kind AND great at what they do?). Brides tailor was on a very short list of recommended tailors in the Los Angeles area from BHLDN where I purchased my wedding dress. I feel very fortunate I was able to find a tailor close to home. Parking is easy on Burbank. Jeanetta's expertise made me feel confident on my wedding day. I had a total of three visits- two fitting appointments and one pick up date. As a bride that is both vertically challenged and smaller in the chest, my alterations were quite minimal, but my dress was extremely Lacey in design. If you want something BEAUTIFUL and custom made with a lot of personalization, Jeanetta is the person to go to! My wedding had a lot of elements of tradition to it and heritage. My mother had been saving her wedding dress for me since she got married in the 80s, and I wanted to use the fabric/part of the bodice of it and turn it into my dream wedding dress. I gave Jeanetta the original dress and a drawing of what I wanted (pictures attached). She asked a bunch of questions and over the course of a number of fittings and check-ins, she created my absolute dream wedding dress! I couldn't have asked for something more perfect. Throughout she gave me several options for the changes I had asked for - how much lace did I want on the bottom of the bodice/what shape, how far down did I want them to go, what should the straps look like, how much volume did I want on the skirt, etc. Every step felt tailored to what I wanted and she did a beautiful job adding every personal touch I asked for. As part of my dress I also had an antique Spanish lace piece inherited from my grandmother that I wanted to use as a veil, and when I gave it to her it was yellowed and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to use it. She had it restored and perfectly matched to the white of my wedding gown. She also attached a comb to it, and it looked beautiful with the final dress! I also went to her to have the dress cleaned/preserved after our wedding - she handled sending it and my veil out and I didn't have to worry about any details. As a note: * She only accepts checks, so if you go, don't expect to pay with a card and bring a blank check with you. * She also keeps things written down by hand on a calendar, so don't expect a website or appointment confirmation - make sure you write down when she tells you to come back, etc. * Allow some extra time in case things take longer than expected as she was flooded with orders and needed to push back fittings several times. I would NOT recommend this bridal shop to alter your wedding dress. This place was actually recommended from shop I bought my wedding dress. I brought in the dress, Jeanetta told me my dress needed only minimal work. Just strap shortening, letting out the dress by my hips and a bustle which only require two visits. So, my first visit was obviously when I brought it to her and then we decided what kind of work she would do to the dress, after she told me it would take about a month and then I could pick up the final product. Well, I month came and I went to pick up the dress. I tried it on and it was big now. So, she then had to pull the dress back in. 2 visits turned in 5 visits total and each visit I felt she ruined my dress even more. Jeanetta, she's very nice, but often at times I felt she was very scattered minded and unorganized. She would say to come in at this time, but when I showed up she would say this wasn't the time we agreed on. During one visit, she couldn't find the bustle button on my dress and she goes "oh, ya I didn't add them, but I was telling her she already did". Like she doesn't even remember what she did. When she had to pull my dress back in after letting it out too much the side of my dress just looked lumpy and uneven. She even noticed it too, but she had already tried fixing it 3-4 times and I had already made 3 extra trips to see her and each time she was promising me that I would get to take home my dress. I was fed up and just took the dress in the condition it was in because clearly she had no idea what she was doing. At this time It was already less than 2 weeks till the wedding, I was trying to find another tailor to fix my dress and obviously most of the tailor stores rejected me because it was too close to the wedding. One tailor was able to fix my dress and she had asked me if Jeanetta hemmed my dress. I said no, and then she showed me the bottom of my dress and it looked as if someone hemmed my dress and did an uneven hem job to the bottom of my dress. I was so shocked because she hemmed my dress without my knowledge and it looked so uneven. I would not recommended her. She is terrible at her job. The fact that she is responsible for tailoring your dress on your most important day is so scary. read more

I had so many issues with Jeanetta it was unbelievable. For the sake of those reading this, I will list out dates & a semi-brief description of the issues I experienced. For added clarity, I was taking time off work for each of these appointments and driving all the way from Orange County to Burbank, at least a two hour drive round trip. Fri May 20,2022 - Jeanetta cancels my 1st appointment the night before at 9:28pm due to possibly being exposed to Covid. I send her my well wishes & ask her to follow up when she's back in her office. Sat June 4,2022 - I txt her to see how she's feeling since it had been 2 weeks since I heard back from her to reschedule. She responds with "week of June 8th" and does not respond to any additional txts I sent. Wed June 8,2022 - I call Jeanetta to ask when I can reschedule my 1st appointment and she proceeds to ask me why I didn't show up to my original appointment on 5/21/22. I was bewildered to say the least & she asks me to txt her my info and when I'm available. Eventually, via txt, she reschedules me for my 1st appointment on Sun June 12th. Sun June 12,2022 - 1st appointment seems great & she tells me what we will need to alter on the dress. We schedule my 2nd appointment for July 12,2022. Monday July 11,2022 - Jeanetta txts me at 7:46pm to reschedule my fitting for the next day - which was upsetting since I had to take time off work to make this appointment with her. We reschedule for Sun 7/31/22. Sun July 31,2022 - we finally have my second fitting and the waist is taken in some & the length has been shortened some. She tells me we should add cups to the dress and I ask her to add simple straps from the leftover material from my train. We schedule my 3rd appointment for Sat Aug 6th. Sat Aug 6,2022 - I show up and she tells me she double booked my appointment and pulls out my dress which did not have the cups added, nor the straps added. I spent 1hour driving to her office and another hour driving back home - completely wasted my time & gas. We reschedule for the next day Sun 8/07/22. Sun Aug 7,2022 - I txt her before I leave my house to make sure she remembers my appointment and I don't make another pointless drive out to Burbank from the OC. I end up having to wait 30minutes into my scheduled appointment time for her to finish with another client before me & while we are trying my dress on, another set of ladies come in for their appointment and she asks them to wait too - poor time management. She added the cups/straps & the hem looks finished along with the bustle. We schedule the final pick up for Tues Aug 9th. Tues Aug 9,2022 - I txt her again 30mins before I leave to make sure she'll be there and knows I'm coming (strange that any client has to do that, but she was so unorganized I could not risk wasting anymore time/gas) she calls me a few minutes later to tell me she hadn't touched my dress and that nothing was completed. She told me to pick it up the next day. I freaked out bc I needed to leave the next day and did not have any time to pick it up. She told me "don't stress out, just have someone else pick it up" WHAT?! Excuse meee??? How do you tell a bride-to-be not to stress out that her dress is not ready & just simply to inconvenience someone else to come out of their way to pick up a dress that she did not complete on time as we agreed?! May I add, she also blamed other brides for needing last minute alterations as to why she could not finish mine - but I don't understand why she thought it was okay to push my dress to the next day when I had previously already told her I was leaving that next day! I cant even explain how frustrating this situation was, especially after all the issues I had already encountered with her. Eventually I just tell her that I need to pick up MY dress that same day, whether it's ready or not. She somehow finds time to "finish" it that evening when I went at 8pm. Overall, the stress, lack of time-management & professionalism and pure disregard of a customers time was truly upsetting. Everything was an excuse and there was no real accountability on her behalf for all the issues I dealt with. Please keep in mind I was more than kind & gracious with Jeanetta until the last day when she told me I'd have to pick up my dress the next morning. I also was not asking for anything outrageous or adding any alterations last minute. It was honestly just a basic "fit this to my body as best you can" approach, which makes me think I was too nice. Ultimately, it is Jeannette's responsibility to make sure her clients have a great experience and that she manages her time & communication well. I understand if there's a one-time issue, but over the course of 4 appointments, to have THIS many issues in unacceptable! I am so thankful I did that because she made 2 errors; confused my alterations with someone else causing me to drive to pick up the dress for nothing because the dress wasnt ready and double booked me the 2nd time, making me wait an hour. When I vocalized my frustration, she didn't apologize but stated she's human and makes errors. Was that her apology? Jeanetta was soooo accommodating and so awesome! My wife and I reached out to her only a month or so before our wedding (I know, very last minute). My wife had a gold non-traditional dress that needed the straps shortened and some work done around the bust and back area, and I had a velvet pantsuit that needed some hemming.
