I got to pay a visit to The Bridal Room recently with my sister-in-law, who is getting married next Spring. Grace was our consultant and it was a pretty flawless experience from start to finish, even with COVID-precautions in place! One thing to note is that they have a no-picture policy at this store, but aside from that I really have no complaints at all. The store is really beautiful -- exactly what you'd expect for a boutique wedding gown experience -- and I thought that the experience was really great. They asked my sister-in-law what she liked, brought out gowns that fit her description and also some surprising ones based on feedback as she was trying gowns on. You know the kind, the ones that don't look nearly as good on the hanger as they when you put them on? Well, of course, it was one of those surprise gowns that Grace chose that ended up being our favorite! They never made us feel rushed or pressured in any way, and I appreciated Grace's guidance and insight into my sister-in-law's gown selection. She didn't end up making her purchase that day, but I know that one dress is still definitely cropping up in her mind, so who knows, it may very well end up being the one! read more

I've been to two other salons prior and wasn't quite happy with their selections, but once I came to the Bridal Room, I knew something was different here. Prior to the appointment, she called and asked what styles that I like and recommended that I make a wish list on their website. At the salon, the dresses are placed together according to their style, so it makes browsing really easy. Bushra brought out the dresses that I picked along with some recommendations, and we were able to pick out a few that look best on me. I picked a beautiful Essence of Australia dress that's perfect for my big day and I couldn't be more happier! They require a 70% deposit to order and charges the rest about a month after, and this is helpful for my budget. I had to provide an OVERALL review on my entire experience. FIRST off, the girls here are amazing! They literally walk with you through the entire process. I found my dress here about 7 months before my wedding. They were so accommodating with me with all my fittings. I had a vision to add the off the shoulder sleeves to my dress and the alterations were on point. When I had to get my dress altered she mentioned my weight loss, that I should come in 2 weeks before my wedding and EVERYTHING would be done. She was completely confident and the bridal room didn't flinch. Funny part, when I told people I knew they worried for me. But the way TBR handled it, I didn't worry. I trusted them 10000% with my dress. Well the week of my wedding I picked up my dress after 1 week of alterations and it was perfect. I never felt so beautiful and I am so grateful that I found my dress here. If you want an experience for yourself and you want to find a gown that is meant for you, The Bridal Room will give you that. I had a fun time seeing the beautiful dresses at The Bridal Room on my friend last weekend! It is a gorgeous shop with designer dresses, but I can't give it 5 stars for a couple reasons: 1) We were early and it was great that they were willing and able to start our appointment ahead of schedule as the folks in the appointment ahead of us were already done, but instead of giving my friend a little extra time, they said that, because of an early start, instead of ending at 2:15 as originally scheduled, starting 15 minutes early would mean we'd need to finish by 2pm. I understand they have 1 hour and 15 minute time slots, but if someone else has finished early and the next appointment arrives, there is no time being wasted by allowing that second appointment a little extra leeway since they wouldn't have another appointment scheduled until after the original ending time anyways. 2) The woman helping us seemed overly insistent by continuing to mention the 1 hour 15 minute time frame we had to work with and went on for at least 5 minutes talking about the simple logistics of the appointment, thereby seeming to waste "precious minutes" of this strict appointment time slot. OVerall though it was a good experience, we were offered sparkling Rose (which we declined) and cookies or macarons (which I happily accepted) when we arrived, nice touch. Maya was very supportive and helpful once my friend actually started trying dresses on. They carry Hayley Paige dresses, and that was mostly what my friend came to try, and they were all very nice. When my friend realized she was still thinking about another dress at a shop we had visited that morning, and so decided that was the dress she wanted, Maya and everyone in the Bridal Room was very supportive and happy and did not act snubbed or annoyed that my friend would not be purchasing a dress from them. I had a fantastic experience at the Bridal Room. Every detail of the appointment made me feel special and helped bring excitement to this day. I was a little nervous going into the appointment, because I was not exactly sure what I was looking for, I felt very overwhelmed with the amount of choices of wedding dresses generally, and I was not confident I would find something I liked. The Bridal Room was the very first time I tried on wedding dresses, and although I attended other appointments that day, the dress I ended up choosing was one of the dresses I tried on at the Bridal Room. None of the other dresses I tried on compared to the one I loved at the Bridal Room, and the customer service was unmatched. I worked with Bryn, who was amazing. She helped me pick the perfect dress and made me feel absolutely beautiful and confident in each of the dresses that I tried on. Bryn asked me a lot of questions about me and my fiancé and had even looked into our venue, and was able to make suggestions based on the ambiance of our venue. I'm not sure why, but going into this appointment I knew this was going to be where I got my dress. Maybe it's the bright airy environment (which is surprisingly rare in the DMV) or maybe the welcoming staff. Either way, I not only had a great experience, but found my dress! I had tried dresses from a designer that they carry a month before and they were able to get those dresses in the store so that I could comfortably make my final decision. (I should note, there was a $50 fee, but that gets applied to your dress if you buy). Overall it's been a great experience so far and I'm glad that I found The Bridal Room. I can not give enough thanks to the team at The Bridal Room, especially Grace! I visited the shop twice (bought my wedding gown the second time through). On both visits, I never felt any pressure AT ALL to purchase a gown or rushed during the appointment. Grace has wonderful styling ideas that really helped my wedding gown vision come to life! She even contacted the gown's designer (team)while I was in the store to assure changes we discussed were possible -even though this put me over the designated appointment time. They have a very unique selection of gowns that I did not see at any of the other 4 bridal stores I visited. The boutique itself is clean, girlie, and bright. They are also cleaning the gowns with a UV light after each try on, checking temperatures , wearing masks, and asking you to sanitize hands upon entering. read more

Highly recommend - from our initial appointment to our fitting to our final pick up, they were an all star team. My daughter knew the style she wanted, & Brittney showed us the dresses they had which met that style, as well as providing us a VERY fair price for the Justin Alexander gown. They are a small shop, but provided a wonderful, positive experience, which we only came to appreciate after trying 2 more shops just for comparison. The Bridal Room had NO hard sell, NO pushing dresses which were not the style my daughter wanted, NO haggling over price, & only wanted my daughter to be happy. We also bought a veil from them, which they edged based on my daughter's vision. We used them for alterations as well, and were very pleased with their seamstress' attention to detail. This boutique uses their location as a means to justify increase prices. Also, the owner to justify charging $50 to all who want to try dresses I think is a mistake. Why do I have to oay to simply try and not purchase? again, it just seems like she is a money making machine and wants to justify things by feeling so "upscale" I've been to designer stores and not paid to try in clothes more expensive then her dresses. I loved my experience trying dresses and ultimately purchasing a dress at The Bridal Room. The store isn't massive but the selection of dresses they have is really nice. You can tell the owner or whoever chooses the dresses they carry has good style. I thought I wanted a slim fitting sheath style dress but ended up trying on an A-line dress on my mom's recommendation and changed my mind about the cut. I fell in love with two dresses that day but wasn't ready to choose. Maia called me to book my second appointment and I came back with my mom and future MIL and saw another A-line dress on the mannequin and asked to try that on as well as the other two I initially loved. Maia let me try on each a few times before making my final decision. I chose the mannequin dress and it was about $2000 below my budget woohoo. I went to three other wedding dress shops and didn't find dresses I remotely liked. So glad the Bridal Room exists because I didn't want to go to 20 stores! *Note: they don't let you take pictures in the dresses. This was a downside for me because some dresses just don't pop in pictures and you'd have no way to tell that. I hope in the future they'd consider letting brides take pics in brands that already have photos online. read more

This is a beautiful shop, the staff is very friendly, and the service is great. I'm dropping two stars only because it seems unfair to charge people $45 just to try on dresses. I understand having a fee on hold in case people do not show up for their appointments. But if you show up and try on dresses and none of them work for you, it isn't right to not get a the amount reimbursed. The shop reminded us that if we wanted to come back at any time and get accessories or anything else, the $45 would go toward that. But again, if we are not interested in anything at the shop, we just paid to try things on. During the pandemic other bridal shops also had a deposit for their appointments but they refunded that after you made your appointment. If you are sure you want one of their dresses, this is a great place. Otherwise know that this is their practice. read more

This is a small, woman and black owned business so I was very happy to have found my dress here and support the wonderful people that work here. There is a small parking lot and it is in an unassuming business area, but when you walk in, it feels very chic and boutique-y. There's a big selection of dresses, but when I went in August, there was nothing with long sleeves (maybe it was summer and that's why, but with how early you have a buy a dress, it's not like it's a seasonal thing?). Everyone was really nice, from the associate that helped me pick out dresses to try, to the associate that did the scheduling, to the seamstress and so on. My gripe with this place is that when it is time to come back to pick up the dress and try it on/alterations, you can't do it Friday - Sunday, those are reserved for shoppers. This is a little silly to me because as someone that already paid for her dress, I feel like my time should be prioritized, but I guess that could go either way. I had to take time off during the workweek and day which wasn't ideal. Additionally, I was told during purchase time that alterations would cost $200 for hemming. At the appointment, I was told it was $300 plus the other things I needed done. I understand it's a business and it's the wedding industry, but it was more than I was originally told which was a bad surprise. Had I known, I think I would have taken my chances with my usual seamstress. I would suggest checking prices at multiple places if you need alterations. read more

Had a wonderful experience at The Bridal Room today! Our appointment was for 11a and even though the shop opens at that time, Monique was nice enough to let us in a little early since we arrived at 10:45a. I was already well aware of the silhouette that I was interested in and I am so pleased that Monique was able to pick up on my style and find a dress she knew I would love that wasn't even out on the racks. I am not a "sample sized" girl (Who is?!, ha!) and I appreciate all the "MacGyvering", pulling, and tugging, she did to ensure that I was able to the vision of each dress. The shop is decorated beautifully and I like how in each little section/room, there is a curtain to separate you from the rest of your party as you change into each dress. I also like that each of the little rooms has multiple large mirrors at different angles so that you don't have to walk across the boutique each time you try on a dress before you actually get to see yourself. I've experienced the latter with another well known bridal boutique in the area and that was really annoying. The only thing that would have made my experience better is being able to take pics in each dress but that's a minor inconvenience. Def would recommend! read more

I started and ended my wedding dress hunting journey here; it was one and done - I said "Yes" to the dress! So happy I got it over with quickly. For a small boutique shop I was pleasantly surprised this place has a great selection of dresses and their prices are very competitive. I ended up spending less than half of my dress budget. Obviously saving any money is a WIN especially for such an occasion. Monique was my consultant and she was super sweet, attentive, and helpful from beginning to end. She actually recommended the dress that I ended up purchasing! Initially I thought I wanted a mermaid-style dress and grabbed literally 7 of them. To my surprise, I ended up with an A-line style dress. I was cheesing from ear to ear when I saw how perfectly this dress suited me. They gave us (my mom and BFF/MoH Annie P.) some champagne to toast with and gladly took pictures of us to commemorate. There were appointments back to back that day, but we never felt rushed or pressured. Monique was apparently new when I went, but she clearly has a natural eye for this. Without knowing me, she picked out the dress that I ended up loving oh so much. Fast forward 10 months later to this past weekend I came in for my first fitting, she remembered me and was just as sweet as ever. Talking things out with her made me feel a lot better about my worries with alterations and such; she has a very calming and genuine presence. Some places just want your money then once you've purchased, the service goes down. The only negative thing was that when I made an appointment to reschedule my fitting, the woman I spoke with sounded agitated and off-putting when I asked questions like what each fitting entails, how long it takes, etc. Maybe she was having an off day, but they should work on that because I'm sure most brides have no clue on what is going on and questions are to be expected. My first visit was great. I didn't feel rushed and could tell the person helping me genuinely wanted me to be happy with my choice, even offering to show me more dresses after I thought I had picked the one I wanted. My future appointments weren't as great. The store called me in to pick up my dress months after I ordered it and once I drove there I found it was the wrong one and the store had made a mistake when ordering. Thankfully I had ordered it far in advance of my wedding! They gave me a discount on future purchases so I used it for the fitting. However, the fitting was extremely expensive and I felt rushed and ultimately wasn't very happy with it. In the process of scheduling those appointments, there was another error where I had a scheduled appointment and showed up only to find that they didn't have my dress so I had to return. I should note I never received a reminder the day before any appointments despite saying they would be sent. I called the morning of each appointment to confirm including the one they weren't ready for, but no one answered so I just went as to not miss it. They did give me a discount for this inconvenience which I appreciate, though still think it's worth flagging for others. While the team is great, there seems to be a lack of attention to detail and organization. And for the price they are charging (~1k just for fixing the dress) I don't think it is acceptable. read more

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience at the Bridal Room and Rachel, the consultant that helped me find my dream dress! Rachel was my bridal fairy godmother and so awesome to work with. When I arrived, she already had pulled a few dresses from my wish list. I had a sense of what I was looking for but she really helped me narrow down my exact preferences (e.g. color, fabric, neckline, silhouettes) and also helped quickly eliminate things I did not like or did not work for me. She also had a sixth sense about how I was feeling about certain dresses. For instance, when she put me in a mermaid gown, she could immediately tell I was uncomfortable with something so form fitting before I even said anything! Rachel made the whole process feel like a breeze and made the final decision so easy, which is saying a lot since I tend to be on the indecisive side! I also really appreciated that the Bridal Room was able to squeeze me in for a last minute, second appointment the next day so that my future mother-in-law could see the dress before I officially said yes (she had been unable to make the original appointment). I would highly recommend the Bridal Room and specifically, having Rachel as your consultant. All the other consultants were super sweet to me as well so I think that you really can't go wrong regardless of who your consultant is. Lisa attended me for my bridal appointment. At first I was surprised about the $45 fee but after being there, Lisa so deserves that if not more. Her service and attention was so professional and you could tell she was so knowledgeable about the gowns they had. So today I started my first official wedding dress shopping and Tori from the bridal room made the experience AMAZING! When I first got there It took little bit to get to me and I couldn't be mad at someone saying yes to the dress who was before me. Tori and heba were so professional making sure the bride saying yes and I were both comfortable in the store. Once Tori took me she asked me about my dresses and my style. The dress selection is absolutely gorgeous and organized by silhouette instead of designer, which was something I haven't seen at any other salon. I loved my experience at The Bridal Room. They had beautiful dresses and their employees were super nice and helpful. My consultant offered water to me and my guests, which I appreciated and really made sure to keep us comfortable. I also appreciated that she kept track of time to make sure I'd get the opportunity to try on a lot of dresses.
