It was obvious to us that they were busy, and under staffed, we understand. However, instead of avoiding eye contact, at minimum they could say hi, and tell us they'll be with us as soon as they could. We probably would have stayed for drinks, but instead decided to leave. Basic customer service goes a long way.

4.5 Stars (really annoyed by Yelp not trusting reviewers with 1/2 stars)…read more This unassuming, roadside bar and restaurant is definitely worthy of a visit. Seems old school and that isn't bad. Family staffed, our group felt welcomed and well taken care of during our visit. Food was really good. Portion sizes of appetizers were a little small but the portion sizes of the actual meals were appropriate. The fish was very tasty as was the coleslaw and potato salad. Everyone in our group ended up with take home boxes of their actual meals. Dessert was also very good. Definitely consider making a trip out to Kellner to try their food and full bar. I don't think you will be disappointed.

They got the brisket, short ribs, and cornbread--and we were all starving by the time it arrived. The brisket had a nice smoky flavor, though it was a bit on the fatty side for my taste--not bad, just not my favorite. The short ribs, on the other hand, were a total hit. The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender, and everyone loved them. They clearly know what they're doing when it comes to ribs. The sauces were bold and flavorful, and the cornbread added a sweet, comforting balance to the meal. We enjoyed it so much, I completely forgot to take any pictures--which says a lot. Definitely a great takeout option if you're nearby, especially if you're craving some seriously good ribs.
