Very relaxing vibe when you step in with hanging plants. The bar area has exposed pipes to lend an industrial feel. We got a table right away in a booth next to the bar. We ordered biscuits and gravy, kids waffles, avocado toast and warm donuts. The donuts are deep fried coated in generous amounts of sugar. While it's good but felt like the large amount of sugar is very overpowering. The berry mascarpone cheese is really delicious! Loved the homemade biscuits topped with just the right amount of gravy. The waffles were light and fluffy, the whipped cream was to die for according to my kids :) I loved all the greens on my avo toast especially the sprouts. However, I found the toast to be on the bland side with not much flavor. Needed some hot sauce to spice it up. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our brunch and the service was great as well! Highly recommend this restaurant/distillery for casual as well as a fancy night out! They also have good vegetarian options (hello falafels!).

After the market we stopped in to check things out and wow it was crowded at 10am on a Sunday morning. The place is rather large, we ended up at the bar as the dining room had quite a wait. The bar was delightful. We didn't eat but we'd like to next time. Drinks were good as was the atmosphere and staff. We'd def come back again. Prices fair and ample parking.

This is the easiest review I've ever had the pleasure of writing. Simply put, Jack's is EXACTLY…read morewhat you'd expect in a smallish town in Wisconsin like Marshfield, whose main charm is it's townies, quaintness, and propensity to belly-up and have a good time. Where to start? How about the bartender, Mark. This guy is hilarious. Wry, witty, cranky, effervescent at times, brooding at times, observant, helpful, can "take it" and "dish it" ... hanging with people is his calling, clearly. I live in a college town, a SOUTHERN DRINKING town, and in my 10 years there I've yet to come across a bar tender as cool as this guy. If you go, call ahead and see if Mark's working the three-sided bar. Make fun of his midwestern accent and the fact that his girlfriend is the bar owner's daughter. Tell him "that's convenient, bro." Watch him glare at you and then barb you right back with playful banter. This guy needs to take his Marshfield charm to a big city some time ... people would LOVE him at a cool dive bar in a city: you know, the ones where folks know each other and you get reasonable drinks without a bunch of bs. Oh, and play dice with Mark. You'll lose and buy a round, but he pours 'em like a champ. Great guy. Okay, in the South, we rarely have things like PBR and High Life on tap. They do. And it's $1.50. I just got back from Manhattan where a PBR was $11 because the hipsters have co-opted our blue collar birthright of PBR for $.75. Jack's has the working class swill down. Bring a 20 spot, leave happy. The draft High Life made me think I was working the dairy farm or lumber yard or scrap yard. Just down-home BEER. Nothing fancy. Relaxed and cool atmosphere ... as an out of towner I was happy to see all the Brewers and Packers and Badgers stuff all over the walls. There were Brewers games on the two tvs the two times I visited. GREAT music that ranged from classic rock to some 80s to some outlaw and popular country. They played "Sweet Home Alabama." I'm from Alabama. I rocked out like a frat boy to an AC/DC song about some shlocky topic. I think they have darts and I saw some gambling machines. So, there's that. I was too lazy to walk over there. Don't say "Go Bears" as one of my friends did. The darned needle nearly scratched off the record, if you know what I mean. I bought a Jack's hat. Call me a tourist. But I **had** to remember this place. If I'm ever back in Marshfield (maybe likely because I have friends there; maybe not because it takes two flight legs and a 3-hour drive in a rental car to get there) I will camp out at Jack's. If you're a local, you know what I'm talking about. If you're a visitor, do not pass Central Ave ... go directly to Jack's and pretend to be a midwesterner (don'tcha know).

I was greeted at the door, sat at the bar with "Breanna," she was fantastic! Great conversation, great recommendations and was even asked if there was a game on that I wanted to watch. There were about 3 tables inside and a birthday party outside(it was almost over) when we walked in. Stood there for a few minutes and then the bartender (guessing he may have been the manager) said we could sit anywhere. We picked a table and waited and waited-everyone was going around lost, looked at us and no one stopped to help us. We were just about to walk out. Finally the same bartender asked if we had been helped yet and we said no so he asked what we wanted to drink, we ordered pops and he said it was on him and he was sorry about that. He came out from behind the bar and went to the host stand and got us menus and silverware-at this time the host finally came back to her station and said she didn't see us walk in-well no she didn't, she wasn't there. Then there was a conversation between bartender and host about who was gonna be our waitress. Sat there for awhile looking at the menus and no waitress, finally just about fed up and she showed up. She asked if we wanted any apps, we said no and said we were ready to order. I ordered 10 wings and asked about two sauces, which she was unsure of the difference, she said she was fairly new and just learned them all, but did answer my questions. I ordered spicy garlic and spicy Thai sauces on the side. After I ordered she asked what my pop was, I said it didn't make a difference as the bartender said he covered the cost. She said just so she knows for refills and such. Husband ordered 10 traditional wings with the maple bacon bbq sauce. Also ordered a Philly cheesesteak w/fries for us to try. We both got carrots, celery and blue cheese. Our food was delivered in a timely manner. For my wings-she brought boneless, which I realized I didn't specify so not her fault, but my husband's was also boneless and he had ordered traditional. I asked her about it and she said oh, I didn't hear him, I just put boneless in because most people that dine in order them because of the deal. I stated well we didn't know there was a deal as no one told us. She just said oh well most people know the deal before they come in and I said we didn't. And she just looked at me. So I asked well what is the deal and she's like well boneless wings are $0.80 each. I said ok. We sent his back as I knew he ordered traditional. When she checked on us while waiting for his to be fixed, I asked about my sauces. It did not taste like a spicy garlic. She said it is, I said well it tastes like buffalo-which it did, No garlic flavor at all. She just said that's weird and walked away. Finally my husband's new Wings came out and they were really good, best part of the meal, he did get all flats, which I love but he prefers a mix (not sure if they always do flats or not). Most laughable part of the meal is , we get the bill and lo and behold the 2 pops were on there. (They charge for the veggies, blue cheese and and extra sauces as well.) She came to take our bill and I said those two pops should not be on there, the bartender said he was gonna cover those, she said I didn't know, he didn't say anything to me. (I bit my tongue, I was gonna say--but I told you at the beginning). So she said she would go take them off, took her a bit, but did get it resolved. We saw her more when it was time to pay then the whole rest of the meal! Also, the men's bathroom stall door wouldn't stay closed and toilet didn't flush. There was also a lot of confusion when a few other tables came in and then they were talking about better let the kitchen know there's a table of 6, like it was group of 16... Overall we won't go back, which is too bad as the chicken wings were good, even the boneless ones were tender.
