Management defends this practice by claiming it is a 'cash discount program' disclosed via a small sign (if you were lucky enough to see it). But in reality, a true cash discount takes money off the posted price and does not silently alter individual printed item prices higher at checkout. Both Visa and Mastercard rules cap credit card fees at 3%-4% and require any surcharge to appear as a clear, separate line item at the bottom of the bill, rather than hiding an uncapped 5% markup inside each dish. If you dine here, bring cash, or do the math on your receipt so you aren't surprised by the stealth markup. Diners deserve upfront, transparent pricing before they order."
