a bar with a lot of bottles

Usually not too busy, good food and good atmosphere. A little expensive but pours strong drinks. A classic local bar, nothing fancy. Bartenders don't make too much conversation. Cash only. Have to pay for music

Amazing chicken wings and HOT sauce!

This small bar has the best chicken wings and Mushroom Swiss burger in town. Service is friendly and quick. We always stop in whenever skiing/snowboarding at Granite Peak. Please note they do NOT accept credit cards. This is cash only.

Nicely priced dive bar menu!

Excellent choice for a beer, burger, and cheese curds on your way home from up north. $3.50 Spotted Cow taps, daily specials, and a bar lined with regulars. The 4:21 burger looked delicious and seemed to hit the spot for my boyfriend. I had the California burger with American cheese. The bun was light and just the right size for the burger patties. The cheese curds were spot on, served with ranch dressing as all respectable Wisconsin dive bars should. The staff were nice and attentive. It's a cash only place I believe, but there is an ATM on-site.

Whitewater Music Hall - MLK Event in Wausau.

In addition to the main hall there is a nice cafe room with places to sit and relax while enjoying beverages from coffee to mixed drinks that can be purchased from the bar. It was the perfect place for Wausau's 2020 Martin Luther King Day event. The main hall provided ample room for the the program which included a band, an awards presentation and the featured speaker. I'm sure that the hall is a suitable venue for concerts and other events as well. The buffet line for the catered meal was in the corridor outside of the main hall which was not ideal (though probably necessary) -- it was quite crowded when everyone was getting their food and the congestion was exacerbated with others coming and going from the main hall to the cafe etc.. The number of tables in the main hall was insufficient for the number of attendees. We, along with many others had to balance dinner plates on our laps and set our drinks on the floor while eating. I'm not sure whether the responsibility for this falls on the event planners or the hall management but it was a definite negative for me. A few other things -- positive and negative. There is a nice display of artwork from local artists displayed on the walls. Even while the MLK event was going on there at least one other small group conducting a meeting in another area of the building. Parking was limited and the cars were parked rather haphazardly (and the ice and snow of January certainly doesn't make parking easy either). We needed to park across the street -- fortunately the county offices located there are closed in the evening.

Briefly visited this upscale Irish sports bar in downtown Wausau, Wisconsin. We left a nearby…read morerestaurant called tempura because space was a premium and they notified us that the wait would be an hour. My dear friend Marcus saved the entire trip with his suggestion to completely redirect the ship and valiantly lead the group to Townies, a 7 minute walk away. We were greeted immediate with a table in a large room with plenty of holiday cheer. Our waitress Rae, a local of Wausau, approached our table with a smile and understanding of our needs and lack of attention spans. After immediately offering to split our checks for us, a table of 11, I knew we had met a special professional. Rae catered to each of the critical points in the meal with precision and kindness. Drinks, appetizers, and full meals were delivered to our table correctly and quickly. The food was also of premium quality. My final bill was 40$ after a generous tip and included an alcoholic beverage, appetizer, and kitchen special. The kitchen special was a medley of shrimp, rice, and mixed vegetables, steamed and with a sauce bringing out spice and juice. It was more than a satisfying portion and Rae closed us out with ease and suggested several nearby nightlife options. Call me a Townie, but I love this fucking place. I'll be back here to propose to Rae after my first marriage.

Nice draft beer selection and Bloody Mary's were on point. Nice and spicy with good garnish. I had beet salad-it was delicious! I did not add any protein and with the breadstick it was quite filling. Husband had grilled chicken sandwich with fries and said it was good. Space was clean and pleasant. Nice to look out on town square.
