We've been great fans of this place. But after the chef left and the restaurant closed we wondered what was going to happen there. It's reopened but the menu online is not the menu at the restaurant . No entrees. Just sandwiches, pizza and appetizers. You order at the window and they bring the food to your table. We waited 40 minutes for a burger and chicken sandwich. They are severely understaffed. The bartender was also out parking golf carts. I had a boss once who said " you can't save your way to prosperity ." It appears that's what they're trying to do at Bunkers. We won't be back, sadly read more

For those of you who remember this course and restaurant as the American Legion, go ahead and forget about that. It's much better now. I've been coming here for years after the renovation, and I love their food, drinks and service. Mindy, one of my favorite bartenders, has such a great, entertaining personality that always makes me smile. I usually come in after a round of golf (I love their course) to have a drink or an Arnold Palmer and one of their salads. I really love their salads, but everything is great here. Really, I would say that each of their salads set the benchmark for what their respective type of salad should be, and I haven't found a better replacement even after searching in Milwaukee. See the attached pictures for proof. If you're coming here for drinks and food later at night, they have a great fish fry and also great burgers. I find everything to be reasonably priced and they make a great old fashioned. I can't actually decide if the golf or the restaurant is the reason why I come here, because they're both so good. Bunkers is a great place to go for Friday fish fries. They offer an amazing selection from light battered, beer battered, baked, and Cajun. The portions are the right size. The sides are typical fish fry sides. The atmosphere is good. Our waitress, Desiree, was spot on. Nice spacious bar area. Friendly service there, too. We will be back! read more

My wife and I just happened by about a month ago and have been back twice since. It is a restaurant located at a gold course. The place is very nice and casual . I think the food is much better than your average bar food, prices are reasonable and the staff is very nice. Plenty of room for families also. Stop by sometime, you will not regret it. read more

Went here for a fish fry on Good Friday and the service was horrible. We got there around 6:30 and didn't get seated until around 7:45. They don't take reservations and we had a group of 10, so we expected a wait, but there were plenty of empty tables we could have been seated at while we were waiting. The place was not busy by any means. The food was okay, but it's pretty hard to get a fish fry done wrong in Wisconsin. If you have a big group, it's probably not a good idea to come here. read more

Sad that this facility had so much unrealized potential. Food was average and small portions. Wait staff couldn't get a single order in correctly and this was fish fry night. How one confuses waffle fries for potato salad I'm not sure. Ordered drinks and it was like leading a blind horse across a balance beam to get the drink I wanted. Not hard to do a southern comfort old fashioned sweet with fruit but apparently I was speaking Swahili which required several explanations as to what exactly this strange concoction is. This is Wisconsin right? When the food came it was served by the chef. He was wearing latex gloves which he never changed once. Not when he brought he tray, not when he wipes the sweat from his tired brow, not after he cleaned the table with a rag of nebulous origins. Now as to the food. I ordered the 3/4 pound Cajun fish fry. They must have been including the weight of the plate as I got 3 anemic cod fillets that I they were a 1/4 pound in life, was certainly not 3/4 pounds in the culinary afterlife. Not a big fan of the place. So much potential, but I don't know if it is kitchen or wait staff management or what that was lacking, but I won't be back. read more

Disappointed in the 90th birthday bash. I was one of the 15 people that dressed up. There were maybe 35 people that paid the $29 dollars. It was a 3-6pm deal. One of the reasons I wanted to go was for the mussels. It didn't go so well as 0 out of 6 mussels with a orange slime in it was not good. Complained and eventually good ones came out. However the pork sandwiches were great. The sliced pork was just fatty but ok. The ribs tough and I gave up on that. There were drink specials that looked fabulous but were not included in the $29. The punch tasted like punch and I don't do tap beer so I just paid more for drinks. No biggie for me and expected but wish those special drinks were included. Excited to eat the 90th Birthday cake but it sat on the table unopened at 6:30 pm when we left. I won't get into the prizes as this was embarrassing but if you ask I'll let you know my thoughts. I also won't go into the Cinco de Mayo music that was played and how long it took to get a drink. One last thing that was not right was letting people who didn't pay eat. One of the recent bad decisions I have made. I'll never get this Sunday Funday back. read more

We have visited Bunkers repeatedly in the past year, for good reason. The bar staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and the prices are terrific. this is a comfortable, open atmosphere that is beautiful any season, thanks to its huge windows overlooking the golf course. Try it in the winter and take advantage of their cross-country ski trails, or give their Bloody Mary bar a whirl. You can't go wrong. read more

Booked 2 tee times for a total of 7 people. Staff was rude before, during and after our game. I will not be going back to this course.

Very pleasantly surprised. The "double bogey" hamburger was excellent and service was very friendly. We came just before kitchen closed, we don't like being that kind of customer, but the staff made us feel welcome and insisted it wasn't an inconvenience. Went here for NYE dinner. Service was slow. Food was terrible. My steak was undercooked, potatoes were dry and lukewarm, pasta was dry, creme brûlée for dessert was good except it wasn't really torched, the "chocolate truffles" were fresh from the freezer. I won't be going back, any normal person could make a better meal. read more

You cant judge a book by its cover!! The outside of the building is old and outdated but step inside and enjoy its retro décor!!! Bunkers has a GREAT Friday Fish Fry and recently started doing Brunch on Sundays! Bar tender service is 2nd to none but the food service could use some work. Great place to take the family, very family friendly......they do have a kids menu!! This is our favorite place to go, they are always doing something!! Definitely worth checking out!! read more
