I go to Fullerton college so in my spare time I walk around at old towne Fullerton, I came along this cute store full of interesting knickknacks! It has so many vintage things, definitely interesting to look around in and I enjoy looking around in this store, it does have more knickknacks in the basement which gives a creepy kind of feel when your down there because of the creepy dolls they have down there and the stairs creeking above you, but that's what makes it interesting! I will its a pricy store, it has its cheap stuff but mostly pricy stuff. Bf bought me a heart diamond necklace from here and its so cute! Also bought myself 2 glass hummingbirds from here. The employee is so nice and delightful to do business with. Definitely going here again! read more

This place is one of my favorite antique shops. I love coming here there's always something new to look at. They have a wide variety of things and I can honestly get lost for hours. Love this place! While Brick Basement may be considered an antique shop, I think of it more as a modern, physical Etsy shop, where you don't know what you want until you go there. Case in point, hubby apparently needed (not wanted), but needed, a knitted rhino plush. Don't get me wrong; if he didn't get it, I probably would have, as well as the herd of donkeys and horses. But, I think that is the beauty of a shop like this: you'll find things that you can't help but take home. Each space is rented out by a different vendor. Each vendor has an assortment of different items that they may be selling. Whether its their own creations, stuff they rummaged around their house or a garage sale, old things, new things, expensive things, cheaper things, etc. It's different every time you visit. The owner has been very sweet. I know we started coming here years ago, and have enjoyed it ever since. It's a place that we make a point of visiting if we're in the area. Love how clean it is, and how creative the vendors are. Prices are okay. Understandably, some items may be a little higher priced than other places, but you are supporting a small business. read more

Knowing this place closed at 6pm, my husband and I drove up from Dana Point, got stuck in traffic but made it by 5:40 only to discover that they had already closed. Closing early is not a great way to run a business in my opinion. Very disappointed. read more

The one thing I don't like about this location is how everything is so tightly close to each other. You have to be extremely careful when browsing because you could easily bump into something. Definitely leave the younger kids at home when visiting because they could easily break something. Other than what I mentioned, you could easily get lost in time at the Brick Basement. There's so much to see. Even once you think you've seen it all, there's always a small shelf or rack you might have missed. Personally, I love anything with cats. So whenever I visit I'm always on the lookout for any vintage cat items. Downstairs, in the basement, you'll find some items on sale. If you love old time cameras, this is the place to visit. During the holidays, you'll find some cute retro decorations. I've also seen some creeper finds like lights with doll or clown heads. Don't forget to scope the glass windowed shelfs! Hidden Gems! A friend of mine told me about this place and it took me a year to get there. I've definitely been missing out! They have really good quality antique items, and the pricing is pretty fair. The woman behind the register was extremely nice, and told me of some good finds throughout the shop! I found great books, records, and decorative items in the actual basement. Yes, there's a basement full of stuff, and no it's not super creepy. Brick Basement is always a fun place to peruse while we're in Downtown Fullerton. We usually walk around the giant store a little bit after a heavy meal next door at Matador or Fuoco or use it as way to pass time while waiting for a table. The store is rather large with two floors. Like a lot of other antique stores, each area seems to have a different "shop" from a different person and you can find everything from toys, kitchen appliances, books, and even clothing. Because different people run the different spaces, the prices can vary from low to high drastically from one small pop up shop to the next. There is a big downstairs area that is a little creepy because you have to descend a flight of creeky old wood steps, but cool at the same time. Below, you will find a more household items and knick knacks that might remind you of times spent at grandmas house. The thing with this place is that you need to really look around. We've found some cool old style Halloween merch just hiding behind other items or randomly placed without thought. Whether you're looking for a unique antiquey gift or just want to browse, it's definitely a cool spot to check out. The staff is super nice and they won't rush you. Don't be afraid to ask a question if you're looking for something in particular because they will probably be able to point you in the right direction. read more

So, this place has a brick basement. Awesome... Here's my story, I had been eyeing a 50's model Royal Quiet De-Luxe typewriter and had had no real success online, so I decided to look in some antique store. I entered the shop with my girlfriend and said, "Wouldn't it be funny if I found it in the first store I looked in?" Sure enough, down in that basement, there it was in all it's 50's green and beige glory. $80 bucks later I had myself the cleanest one I'd seen yet. In the past it was more home decor, now I would say it's a more balanced blend of vintage items for you and your home, with lots of clothing, jewelry and decor. Antique malls are often a mixed bag, and this is certainly a prime example of a mixed bag. While there are plenty of true vintage and antique gems to be had here, you have to first look past the plethora of new and just barely used items, and give this shop an almost upscale second-hand shop feel rather than an antique mall vibe. The shop does have character and charm though, with unique items and exposed brickwork. The staff I found was very kind and helpful, informing myself and my husband of upcoming events and other shops to visit. If you love cute, pretty, vintage things, this is a place you will love and treasure. Prepare to be transported to a world of all sorts of little trinkets like vintage jewelry boxes, jewelry, bags, clothing, accessories, and home decor. Everything is arranged in a stylish, organized manner - the way it works is there are dealers who aren't present at the store but they occupy "spaces" within the store where their merchandise is. They're basically sellers who leave their items on display for buyers to look at and buy. So there are about 20+ different spaces within the store that have a distinct style but are also similar. I bought a nice pair of earrings ($6) and a crystal perfume bottle keychain for my coach bag ($10). Prices range from $5-$50 depending on how rare or antique it is. But most things are affordable and prices are much cheaper than other places. You're paying for quality goods that are also almost like new or slightly used. If you feel the urge to spoil yourself but don't want to go to the expensive mall or store, come here. You will leave with a few sweet deals that'll make you happy. Old and older collide to create the awesomeness that is The Brick Basement! First of all, they have TONS of stuff.... From depression glass to creepy vintage dolls. I agree with Cindy N., if treasure hunting is your thing, then this is the place for you! Granted you can find some of the stuff they have here at a thrift shop for the fraction of the cost, but this place is amazing. It's like Mary Poppins' purse, just when you thought there wasn't anymore to look at you turn a corner to a whole new room filled with goodies. There are two floors and numerous rooms packed with stuff. So, so, so much stuff. If you're prone to bouts of ADD when coming face-to-face with a ridiculous amount of nifty little trinkets, pretty kitchen ware, etc. etc., then this place may not be your cup of tea. Don't waste your time trying to sell here. Had some vintage stemware to sell, as we are moving and talked to owner 3 times about selling items to her and each time she led me to believe she was interested and even quoted me a figure that she would give me as she was aware of the pattern of the vintage stemware. Each time she had a reason why It was not a good time to come and bring the stemware. She just needed to be honest from the beginning and state she was not interested, so my time and hers was not wasted. read more

They have a pretty cool set up with some interesting stuff, but the staff is not friendly. I stood in line with a purchase for over 6 minutes while the staff chatted with someone she obviously knew. Very cool place in the Heart of downtown Fullerton, it can be a little tricky to find so its kinda a hidden gem! There's parking in the back next to the Matador. I like this place because the unique treasures, I found quite a few great items that I put on eBay and tripled my money! The Staff was very helpful and friendly. I found exactly what I was searching for. There are so many nice Antiques and Collectable items throughout the store. I wish that I had more time to browse the entire store. The store has a basement that is full of memories from the items that you will find there. With dozens of individual "booths" in this 2 story shop, it is a neat place to spend an hour or 2 exploring. From jewelry to small furniture pieces, they have quite a bit of a selection. The variety is nice...not all country or shabby, there's industrial and gothic options as well. I will definitely be back. read more

About 40 different vendor booths here, reminds me of King Richard's in Whittier but of course a whole lot smaller. This is one of my favorite antique malls, and unfortunately one of the few left in Fullerton (good for them, though!) I try to stop in when I'm visiting friends in Fullerton. Cute beachy & shabby chic stuff and not a lot of junk like you'll find at many malls. My only complaint is they won't let you use their bathroom and will send you to the hardware store across the alley. I'm usually not coming back to a store if I need to leave and I have cut my shopping short there for just that reason a couple of times. Otherwise, great little store! read more
