I really like them, but it would be nice to come here and actually save some money. Came in here on a whim while walking around Orange circle. Inside it's fairly spacious and they do have some cute items up front, the clothes and shoes in the back are pretty overpriced. Used shoes for $70-80, i understand the concept of vintage, but their selections didn't really stand out and weren't worth the price. Service was friendly. read more

It's a thrift store. It also has newer items. I found a pinkish blazer/jacket that I really loved! Priced a bit high in my opinion but it fit and I know what it will go with in my closet already. Clothes in here were somewhat reasonably priced. Friendly service when I checked out. So many thrift stores in this part of Orange. The store is well organized and clean. They also sell newer stuff like socks and knick knacks. I would come by again. Parking is challenging on this part of town, be patient and prepared to walk. Happy bargain hunting. SYOY. read more

ZERO plus/midsize options. If you're larger than a standard women's L, look elsewhere. They had two rows of S/M skirts, and a grand total of six (6) xxl bottoms. When I asked the girl at the counter she said it was due to their sellers being smaller, which may be true, but this is socal, it's not terribly difficult to find sellers that have larger clothing. The staff is also terribly unfriendly, not once have I met anyone authentically happy to be working there. I'd be happy to pay their rather high prices for used clothes if only they had anything that fit anyone remotely curvy, but until they do something about their bizarre sizing, I'm going elsewhere. read more

Came here to sell clothes and take a look around. It's pretty cool here and they definitely have a style going that matches the aesthetic of the area. I'd say they have stylish clothes with some throwback shirts and shoes and I mean throwback to the 90's era, but more grunge. I liked their stationary, candles, apothecary, card section as it was very trendy/cute and humorous. It's in old town Orange so parking can be inconvenient. I happened to park in the lot behind the building and found a guy leaving. Cute store and hopefully it's a main stay. read more

Rude and Unprofessional First time visiting with two full bags of quality clothes. A blonde staff member told me I needed an appointment but said, "Fine, we'll see your stuff in 2 hours" since I had driven far. After waiting, they took nothing -- no explanation. Let me start by saying I've sold at this location as well as other deeluxe locations and countless other vintage resellers continuously for over a decade, to this day. I understand how vintage is priced, sold and bought. I also have worked in customer service and retail my entire adult life til I graduated from fashion school and have now been working in the industry for over 10 years. Remember it's not what you say but how you say it. If being polite or courteous to anyone is difficult for you, do everyone a favor and please find another job. Old town orange's vintage clothing market has exploded over the past couple years, and now we have upwards or 10 businesses who buy and resell vintage clothing. All that being said, I was disappointed with my experience reselling at this location last week. Not only is the staff condescending and slow paced, they prefer standing around and snickering to helping paying customers. Maybe deelux is unaware of the competitive growing vintage market, or maybe none of these people truly value their jobs or income. They only bought 3 of my 40 items. I had vintage denim jackets, vintage western shirts, several authentic 80s and 90s vintage graphic T-shirts and hoodies, vintage 90s Disney, varsity jackets, all in great reselling condition. I made $20. I used to never escape reselling without finding new items to take home. But not this time, the employees were so unwelcoming I honestly couldn't wait to leave. read more

Just another trendy, overpriced thrift store. While I understand some items are high cost brands, a lot of the stuff is still overpriced and they're visibly faded, gone through the washer numerous times, and not worth the price tags they place on them. Ex: a plaid skirt from forever 21 is still $15 even though when you feel the material, it's worn down. Some clothing doesn't even have the original tag, being visibly cut off with scissors. Whether it the person who sold it or the business itself, I didn't like that. Some clothing was visibly cropped (probably by the customer who sold it) but there should be more standards to what they accept in their buys. The employees are sweethearts, I'll give them that but it's overshadowed by the pricing. Just another shop that buys clothes from customers at a low price and mark up the price. read more

very pretentious and over priced, won't be back to sell or to shop. if you're selling items it does not matter the quality or if the items are new with tags they are looking for the trendy items even if they are ripped and stained like most things on their shelves... i brought in clothes to sell and out of about 35 pieces (most new with tags some from really high end brands and about 10 of those pieces were from low cost brand like fashion nova) they bought 3 jeans off of me but first critiqued that fashion nova is a hard brand (i get the fast fashion issue) yet one of the three jeans they did buy off me were from fashion nova. the other two jeans were men's new wranglers - they paid me $20 total, they sell jeans in there for $50 and up so they definitely paid out less than 30% with some unwarranted judgement. i won't be back i would rather donate my new clothes with tags directly to goodwill or people in need. again, very pretentious and just trying very hard was the impression i had, the initial woman who checked me in with red hair was really kind though that was the only good part of the whole experience. read more

I had a poor selling experience trying to sell about 35-40 random clothing and shoes with all sorts of different brands. I read up on their site to know what to expect. All it stated was 'bring your best stuff', drop off instructions and appointment times. I couldn't get an appt online the same day that was convenient with my lunch plans in the area, so I ended up dropping off my stash of items. They were able to go through it within 24 hours and get back to me. When I got the updated text, it just stated that 'my buy is ready'. Nothing about how much they were able to find or not accept, or a buy estimate. To my amazement, they accepted ZERO items which was fun to haul back out of the store and walk several blocks because parking was so bad on a Sunday. They stated that skinny fit and business casual attire was not what they were looking for. Well why not post that on your website or state that before I dropped off all of that stuff and had to come back to get all of it back?? Sounds like they're looking for baggy clothes from my childhood days back in the 90's. I can't believe that's what is 'trending' right now. Whatevs with trends, but at least be up front about what you're looking for. I saw a bunch of JC Penny brands in their store so I guess that's what they think is selling. You're better off selling your items on eBay. read more

This review might be helpful for those wanting to sell clothes here, coming from someone who's sold here a good amount of times. ( Claremont and orange location) I had an appointment here but was 10 minutes late, my fault entirely so they recommended I come back the next day. So if you're late be prepared that they might just keep your items so they can fully inspect it w/o being rushed. Came back the next day and had a successful sale with my items. Had 30 items and they only gave me back five items that didn't make the cut. So my advice is: - Sell things that are TRENDY and cater to the younger crowds. It doesn't really matter if your items are "new w tags" or "expensive", if it's not in style it won't sell. So Y2K, coquette, grunge, and vintage items are always good to sell! - when it comes to pricing, don't expect your pieces to sell for $15 each. At the end of the day the store has to make a decent profit. If you want a better price for your goods my advice would be to then go to Poshmark or depop. - I only sell here when I want to make storage space or just get rid of items without caring too much about the money. So if that's your mindset then I'd recommend selling your items here. So far I've had good experiences here, and the staff here are very friendly! (: read more

I've been coming here for 4 years and I've finally (sort of) figured it out. If you don't have anything that the young, artsy bunch of Chapman students would wear, they will not buy from you. If you have anything too nice or new, it won't be bought. Currently ratty y2k clothes and outfits reminiscent of Little House on the Prairie are in style, so if you don't have stuff like that, don't bother. Prices aren't too bad for what you get, but obviously some things are VASTLY overpriced. I don't think I've ever scored a true "deal" here. However, they fluctuate. Sometimes there are patches where they have a great selection of clothing and will buy most of the items you bring in, but other times their stock is depleted or just not desirable. There have been times where my expensive or nicer clothing items were passed on simply because they were not in style or in season. Nevertheless, I will probably continue to come here. The staff is fairly friendly and sometimes I find an amazing piece. I definitely have some great pieces from this store that I love. I liked the products this store had to offer, although they seemed expensive for a second hand store. Honestly you would have better luck at Goodwill or even just buying the products first hand since it'll probably cost the same. This place is also very Orange County. I've been here in the past and had a good experience, sold a lot of clothes to them and found many gems that I still wear to this day However when I went this time to sell clothes, all of them were rejected. Don't be like me and park really close or else you will be hauling heavy bags back to and back. I understand not everything will be accepted and there is a style of clothes they go for depending on trends/season but the store does not reflect the clothes they buy at all. Like there's Naruto and demon slayer tshirts but they won't take my designer bag? lol I would argue I had some articles of clothing that fit the look they are curating but it was rejected anyway. I used to come to this store frequently when they were located in Costa Mesa on Adams/Harbor. Back then it was full on vintage and kitsch. Now that they have moved to Old Town Orange, they just aren't the same. I would compare their stock to stuff you would find in a Crossroads or Buffalo Exchange. It's not a bad thing but be aware that you will be coming in for gently used clothing. There might be some vintage in there but it's something you would have to hunt for. read more

They faked being polite to me but I honestly felt discriminated right when I walked in. Yes I'm Latino and tatted up (no gang tattoos) but I'm very polite and carry myself properly. I took 40 items including 2 coach bags some new era hats, Nike shoes in mint condition adidas in mint condition and I personally cleaned my bags with coach leather cleaning products. She took roughly 10 min to sort everything out when it's supposed to take at least 20 to 30min. She rejected EVERY single item!!! My wife had nice sweaters tops ect... they made me feel like I was trying to give them bum clothes saying they weren't in wearable condition. I felt embarrassed the way they rejected EVERY SINGLE ITEM! They were all washed and cleaned! Very boujee atmosphere for used "vintage" clothing lol. I would not recommend this place if you go in take a nice carry bag for your items and sell all your new stuff apparently and wear a sundress. Oh and when I called over the phone they specifically said "we LOOOOVE coach" lmao yea until they met me In person. read more

I typically do not write negative reviews on a company, but I am quite irritated after my experience at Deelux. I spent a bit of time on their website before coming in for my scheduled appointment. I found the suggested item guide online to be helpful and I was very specific to being in items that only matched their suggested guide online. They also suggest bringing in "40 of your best items" which in hindsight is absolutely ridiculous. Carrying all of those hung items took me 3 trips to my car (with my toddler next to me) and overall just unnecessary effort. All to say, despite following their instructions and bringing in 40 carefully selected items that perfectly matched their seasonal item list, I left feeling terribly annoyed over the amount of my time that was wasted. Here's a brief rundown of my experience; I arrived for my appointment, was asked to either shop around or I could leave, but to expect a text within 30 minutes. After 40 minutes of waiting with no communication, I decided to go inside. To my dismay, I was offered a mere $15 for three items. This not only wasted my time but also undervalued the clothing I had brought, which was either brand new or barely worn and literally matching their guide to a tee. I attempted to shop around at Deelux and was equally underwhelmed. Apart from a few decent men's tennis shoes, the rest of the clothing seemed worn, dirty, and resembled cheap costume pieces. In conclusion, I cannot recommend Deelux as a place to sell OR shop for second-hand clothing. Their low compensation, lack of communication, and disappointing selection make it clear that they do not value your time or your clothing. I have never been to Old Town Orange to explore thift shops before and I have definitely found a gem to buy clothes! This place is more of a consignment shop than a thift shop per say. This review is for the buying portion only. The store is organized very nicely with appropriate sizing and tags. They also have fitting rooms as well. I was able to score a new dress for $20 which I am excited to wear for date night (: This place is located in Old Town Orange so parking can be hard to find, but there are several lots nearby. If you're looking to clear out your closet and make a few bucks, this is a decent option. The employees are very friendly and are just doing their job, but the pricing is where I have an issue. Don't expect to get the full value for your items. Over the years, I've sold several items here, including UGGs, Doc Martens, and Levi's jeans, and they've consistently lowballed me. One trip I sold two levi's jeans, a pair of UGG slippers and only got about $40...the items were in good conditions practically new and that's all I got for them. Do not waste your time going there! The place sells trash and falsely advertises that they buy used clothing, almost looks like it's just a front for some "other" activities. They do not have any sustainable ambitions which would be important for a second hand clothing recycling business. They mislead people that they accept used clothing just to create traffic in the store because they do not even look through the bags you bring them! I made an appointment and brought a big heavy bag with clothing which adhered to all of their website requirements and even beyond, I then left the store and actually watched this scrawny dude through the door window. He did not even look in the bag and left it on the counter while continued to chat with his coworkers. He then sent me a text 5 minutes after the drop off. He gave me the bag back and said that "because of our inventory levels, we won't be accepting any clothes". He was so pompous as if he actually works as a Prada distributor and not a second hand clothing store "buyer". If that's the case, do not make me drive across the city, adding to traffic and pollution levels, you should care as you are supposed to be a sustainable business! For a lot of people, a clothing recycling business is not even about the money you might receive for your used clothes as we all know, it's pennies (we know we would spend more $ on gas to get there), it is mostly a hope that someone else can use their clothes and it is not just going to a landfill. To hand me the bag back and not to offer to recycle it to goodwill on my behalf after I made an effort to drive there because of their false advertising practices is a major flow for this business and unacceptable lack of basic customer service. Who the hell are you guys to make people drive to you and you don't even look in the bag because in reality you don't need these donations; you are a bunch of liars and phonies. All to find out that they just gave me my entire box back and said "sorry we're not taking anything". I love this place and wanted to boost their sad reviews!! And for anyone wondering, this is NOT a thrift store. It is a buy/sell/trade or consignment store. However, I like it way better than Buffalo Exchange. You can get true vintage pieces here for reasonable prices compared to online like Depop or eBay. I also like selling here because they always take a bunch of my stuff! I usually get ~$35 cash for about 8-10 items, which is worth it to me. Better than donating your stuff to goodwill where it'll likely end up in the landfill. I've always found the employees very kind and cool! My only complaint is the lack of AC, I know it's historic orange but when it's 90 degrees I can imagine trying on clothes in there. In a room full of ladies and buying customers could not stop dropping F bombs And continued to approach every customer in the store and continue to talk bad about the business. I've been a buying customer for over three years and this store has never once been rude to me. This guy was in the store the day before his review and tried to hit on a customer and made her feel uncomfortable. I've never wanted to throw a little man aka Kevin "Karen" through a window so bad in my life. If he continued to harass the workers I probably would have. The workers handled the situation with absolute respect and kept their cool through the whole altercation. They are the reason I'll continue to shop here!
