After a full day of trade show networking, freezing temps (20 degrees ), and the long walk from the PATH through downtown Hoboken... we earned dinner. So we ducked into the Brass Rail. Now listen... when someone says "college town," you don't always picture: * Warm lighting * Cozy tables tucked close together * A genuinely cool ambiance * Impeccably clean space * Staff that actually seems happy you're there But that's exactly what we got. I ordered the short ribs over Yukon mash. My employee went with the clams off the ferry. Verdict? For American dining , it was really good. Flavor profiles were balanced, rich without being heavy, and exactly what you want after walking through 20-degree wind tunnels pretending you're still 25. And our waitress? Above and beyond. Attentive without hovering. Friendly without forcing it. The kind of service that makes you stay for one more minute just because you're comfortable. So here's my takeaway: I may be old...But apparently I can still eat well in a college feeling town. And if this is what "college town dining" looks like now? The kids are doing just fine.

Great service and yummy food at the Brass Rail. We started out at a big happy hour there for our conference, then a small group of us retired to a table upstairs for dinner. The food was all good. Three of us had the fantastic Red Snapper. My colleague had the great pork chop.

I actually would give the Brass Rail 4.5 stars. It was a very good experience! The service and food were both on point! We stopped here last minute on Cinco de Mayo and grabbed an outside table. Julie, our server was awesome. She was nice, friendly, informative, and very accommodating. We ordered bottled water and they had Saratoga which is my favorite water. My husband ordered a beer and unfortunately we found out they had run out of his choice, but Julie found a quick replacement. I then decided I wanted a skinny margarita.. it was good. I had two! We had the hummus and pita and veggies and it was delicious. We had gone to a mediterranean restaurant the week before and the hummus was better at the brass rail than the med. Restaurant. We both had the chicken sandwich and fries. The sandwich was good(mine was modified GF) and the fries were delicious. It was a little hot outside, but the people watching was fun. All in all, I would totally recommend this place. Solid food & experience from soup to nuts!

Standard American brunch spot. Nothing too crowded on the weekends, easy to walk in with a group.

Overall a great brunch experience. The hummus & pita was very good . The avocado toast could use a little kick .The fries were crispy fried to perfection. The restaurant did not rush us at all which I thoroughly appreciate.

Overall: Pretty Pricey with a little lack luster service and alright food compared to everything else thats around. Service: came at around 11:30 Pm on a saturday with a party of 10 and was seated outside. Pretty windy and cold temperatures. Though we were the only ones there we did not have any waters or drinks brought to us for a bit. They forgot some of our orders and coffees. Though they did apologize a lot for the slow service, but there was no one else there when we were there. Food: Had the berries and Cream French Toast, the cinnamon butter was very good actually however the french toast came out very cold and soggy. Ambiance: there is a lot of seating and space and would of much rather sat inside. Theres lots of space but someone there was no one around.

Had an outstanding experience at The Brass Rail! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is absolutely delicious. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor.

Me and my friend were looking for a spot to eat with outdoor seating and we came across The Brass Rail! We were immediately seated and greeted. For my drink I had the mojito. It wasn't the best but it did the job. My friend had a regular beer. For my meal I had the Grilled Chicken Club and it was DELICIOUS. The bread was amazing and all the ingredients built the perfect sandwich. I also really loved the fries. It was packed with flavor. My friend is vegan and he had to try the Vegan Flatbread. We haven't had much luck at other spots he'd try food at but he actually liked this meal and also liked the fries so much he had to get his own side. I had a solid experience here and I'd def go back.

We had a lovely experience at The Brass Rail. There were 5 of us out for brunch to celebrate my daughter's birthday. It was great from the moment we arrived. We were seated promptly and our server checked in with us right away. Clara was just delightful. We really enjoyed chatting with her! We started with mimosas, Bloody Mary and coffee. All were very delicious. Our starter was the tostadas. They were a huge hit. They could be a meal on their own. I had The mesclun salad with chicken, my husband and my daughter's boyfriend had the open faced BLT, my son had the grilled chicken sandwich, and my daughter had the lobster roll. Everyone enjoyed their meal. My son finished with the Oreo cheesecake. That was delicious (yes, I did taste that). We were very comfortable and could hear each other. Definitely would return.

Tried our Brass Rail for the first time with some friends during brunch and they have a great brunch deal: $28 pp 2 course and a cocktail. I started off with a mimosa that tasted purely of OJ, I prefer my mimosas with a "dash of OJ" (if ya know what I mean) and the baby kale salad which was good, perfect for a refreshing, light starter, followed by BR eggs Benedict which was good but I've had better eggs Benedict elsewhere. Overall ambience was cool and server was nice and attentive which is always great!

    Are the dri nks expensive?

Cocktails average more towards $10 each. I tend to drink wine there and order a bottle since it is cheaper. For Hoboken this is pretty normal.

This person proceeds to say one of the workers kicked his friend out because she was "assaulted" and let me tell you this is far from the truth, as I was the one who was apart of that altercation. To set the scene: I was there with my boyfriend this night. We come here once a month if not every other month for a smoke and cocktail. There was a group of loud folks - who we presume had been drinking - but didn't think much of it. At some point I had to use the bathroom, and there's only one here. I knocked on the door and turned the knob but it was locked. I wanted a few minutes, knocked again - lightly both times - but again no one came out. There was some old newspaper nearby that had in my hand while I waited for someone to come out. A moment later a woman barged from bathroom angrily and was holding her hand up and it appeared she had something sharp - like a hand knife or small blade. She was belligerent, yelling about why I was bothering her in the bathroom and got really close. I was almost sure she was going to stab or seriously injure me with whatever she had in her hand. I only had a moment to think and defend myself... she was pretty damn loud that everyone turned around. I shoved her to give me some space between her and myself and that sharp object. She then started screaming and I pushed her away again, and she continued to charge after me. My own boyfriend and two men had to get her away (for context I'm 5'3 100lbs and she was a lot lager than myself) and she was dragged out by staff and kicked her friends out as well. Outside, you can hear her screaming and crying saying I had started it, I assaulted her, she was going to call the cops etc.. Im glad I wasn't hurt because she's absolutely insane and I should have been the one to call and press charges for her making an attempt. No one harassed her even in the slightest. She was incredibly drunk or blacked out or high on cocaine or something. They have security footage and the testimonies of my own boyfriend who witnessed it happen from start to finish and several other people + staff that could recount this story. That said - FAFO. We thought mini golf was interactive, everyone had the same chance to play and it's simple enough without exerting too much energy (unlike an escape room or the dancing tiles which I also came across in my research). We checked in on the ground floor (also have a coat check here) and were told they have a cabin themed course on the 2nd floor and a museum themed course on the 3rd floor, but there was a party going on. They also told us about the rooftop lounge, which is covered with plastic and they have heaters blasting the space. We went with the cabin themed. Although I don't think they completely blocked the 3rd floor with the party, we just didn't want to have to compete with others and wanted a quiet experience. They have stairs or an elevator. Once we got to the 2nd floor, we were the only ones there and were explained how the digital scoring works. We inputted our names, and our scoreboard would follow us from board to board in sequence after we all punched in our scores. The max was 6 putts per course to help keep things moving (we definitely played more than 6 on some courses lol). The courses did progressively get more challenging as you moved on. The decor was beautiful. Fairy lights lined the space with murals or a ski lodge/mountains around with a polar bear and a ski mobile. Many cute photo ops. On the last course, once you made it, the game swallowed your ball, I guess to help prevent you from trying to play the course again. I wish there was more than 9 courses though. It was fun enough but maybe having a few more would have helped fill the time more. Time flew by and we had lots of laughs. Would be excited to come back to try the museum course next time.

I booked a social package that included 90 minutes of reserved seating, one round of mini golf, and a $25 food or drink voucher per person. When we arrived, we were given tickets for mini golf, but the staff seemed unsure about how the food and drink vouchers worked. After some back-and-forth, we learned the vouchers could only be used on the second floor, and if used for drinks, there was only one option available -- a blue rum drink with coconut. Unfortunately, the drink missed the mark for me and my friends, and the recipe could definitely use some improvement. We were also never shown where our reserved seating was, which was disappointing. That said, I had an amazing group of friends, and we still made the night a lot of fun. We played the Lodge course on the second floor, which is their most challenging course and beautifully decorated. I also loved the tablet that kept score for us -- it was a great touch. The rooftop area is another highlight: it's heated and really enjoyable during the winter. Overall, while the atmosphere and mini golf were fun, I wouldn't book a party package again -- it wasn't worth the cost. Next time, I'd just pay for mini golf directly.
