The name says it all: Bad to the Bone...And it lived down to its namesake on 9/27/14 when hubby and I decided to try it for the first time. I was the second person in ordering line and ordered a two meat combo platter with pulled pork and ribs for the hubby and a pulled pork platter for myself -- TO GO. 30 minutes later, as I watched orders being delivered out to tables that were seated long after my TO GO order was placed, I finally got the attention of one of the line staff. She said they were working on it. Meanwhile, I observed that stacks of to go orders were accumulating off to the side and it appeared that the expediting staff would not try to bag them until ALL of the in-store orders were made and delivered to tables. Even when the expediters had cleared all of the in-store table orders, they still would not work on filling the bagged orders until the store manager came back from dinner. Instead the to go order boxes were opened and closed repeatedly and left to go cold and congeal by the wayside. After being 10+ deep in to go customers, the orders finally started being bagged. [I couldn't help thinking that the extremely pregnant customer toward the end of the line might not see her food in time before her new baby would start school.] Mine did not include everything ordered and had to be corrected. After waiting a total of 55 minutes, I left with my cold food that I had to re-warm at home a short drive away. My husband was starving by that time and said the food was barely mediocre. My food unfortunately was a greasy, sloppy mound of 50-60% pork back fat instead of pulled pork meat with one cup of sauce that was far from the carolina vinegar sauce advertised. My premium priced sweet potato fries were limp, soggy, pitiful things that only filled the paper container a third of the way. I had to forage in our pantry since I had a paltry amount of edible food in my order which didn't even amount to a appetizer. Thank goodness for the old standby of ramen noodles. A terrible experience and even worse quality for $38.00 and an hour of our lives we will never get back. We won't be back for more "Bad" in Gainesville and next time will go to Dickey's or Red Hot and Blue. Prices, quality, flavor, portion sizes, and overall experience are by far better at the latter two competitors. A little farther to drive, but I could've driven the extra distance to either, ordered, waited, driven back home, and already finished eating, with a full tummy, given the time I had to wait for "Bad".
