We did a take-out order of beef brisket, ribs, and pulled pork with potato salad and cole slaw. All were good but to my taste I thought the cole slaw was a bit bland. Meats were tender and nicely done. Price is a tad high but the food was good. I might have rated 4 stars except for the long wait for our order...apparently they just forgot us and let the food sit until a nice waitress finally realized we had been there for awhile. read more

I really wanted to like the Bone but after my third try, enough is enough. First time about 2 years ago, pulled pork sandwich had bones in it. Second time about a year ago I ordered 2 take out Brisket plates, got home and both brisket portions had so much fat it was unbelievable they even served it. Literally had to throw away over half the order. This last time we went (Memorial Day weekend), I ordered brisket and ribs and was told they were out of ribs. How does a BBQ joint run out of ribs on Memorial Day weekend? So then I asked for the BBQ chicken instead. I asked if the 1/4 chicken would be white or dark meat. The cashier looked stunned and replied that it's just 1/4 chicken. She seemed confused as to whether I got a preference or not. Anyway since I wasn't even sure if I got a preference on the 1/4 chicken, she said how about the pulled chicken, it's mostly white meat. On that recommendation, I ordered it. I also asked if they could please cut me the lean side of the brisket since the previous time it was too fatty and inedible. She said she would make a note on the order. We sat down and our food was delivered. Once again, despite my request, I got all fatty side of the Brisket cut. Just chewy and stringy. On top of that, the pulled chicken was 80% dark meat, contrary to what the cashier said. By the way, a two meat plate here costs $20 + tax without drinks. It was over $43 for two plates and water. Way over priced for the experience. I don't expect perfection and I rarely write reviews, but take your BBQ appetite elsewhere. read more

Visited for the first time on New Year's Day 2015. Tried the pulled chicken sandwich, I think I should have had the pulled pork, it looked better than what I had. The fries and muffins were very good. The staff were all pleasant, the meal for four of us, sandwiches, drinks, a basket of corn muffins was about $70. The place was okay but not worth driving the distance from Springfield, VA, about 25-30 miles. read more

I've been going to the Bone from day one when it was Bad to The Bone. I've easily been there over a hundred times. The Bone offers a very nice atmosphere with great food and terrific staff. We live nearby and order from The Bone almost weekly. Most of the time the food is good. However, tonight we ordered the Stuffed Potato, and we're VERY disappointed because the potatoes were basically rotten. They were dark on the inside and smelled badly. Good pulled pork sandwich with a lot of meat, really good bread, good sauce, but still a bit of a letdown. The biggest red flag for me was this: The (already expensive) sandwich comes with a side. Great! I'm at a BBQ joint, I have to try the mac'n'cheese. But that's a "premium side" which costs $1.50 extra. Really? You're gonna tell me my BBQ comes with a side, but that can't be mac'n'cheee unless i pay more? That really rubbed me the wrong way. The mac was at least good, but nowhere near good enough or a big enough portion to justify the bait-and-switch side pricing. And when I was there the service was terrible. Nothing mean-spirited or intentional, a number of the employees just seemed either uninterested or incompetent. I went through the line and placed a takeout order, then without any other guests even coming through, they managed to lose/forget my order, eventually asking me what I was waiting on. As they were sorting that out, a lady came in to pick up a family-sized takeout order she'd called in, only to find that no one had started on it. All of this not to mention the fact that they were out of almost all of their meats when I got there a little after 5:30 PM, which I'm not sure I'm ready to blame them for just yet. This place is now called "The Bone." They also have another location in Old Town Manassas. The BBQ leaves much to be desired. The food is very expensive. I paid $16 for a sandwich, one side (not a premium side which is +$1.50 more), and a fountain drink. The meat had a lot of fat and gristle and the toppings were soggy (lettuce & tomato). Not a fan. The location in Old Town may be better. I never write reviews but I couldn't help but leave one considering how sick I felt after eating the meal. read more

I just got back from ordering a slice of pecan pie for take-out and I'm disheartened by the paltry portion, it cost $5.25. To top it off the girl who made the sale and gave me the slice of pie dropped my change on the counter and walked away. No thank you or even an apology for dropping the money - they weren't busy! Bottom line, the pie is fairly good but the value is way off. It's a pitty, they seem to be full of themselves instead of focusing on appreciating the business offered to them. This little BBQ joint manages to pull off Texas style BBQ with great ease. Brisket is amazing. Tender, moist, and smoky. The chicken is done without being dry. Everything I've had has been perfect. The BBQ sauce is delicious and compliments the meals without being too powerful. Whether you eat in or do take out its pretty above the norm. The only two issues are that the place is really small and cramped. Additionally if you order later, say about two hours before closing, meats are often sold out or close to being at the end of their serving life. Once I came by the restaurant an hour before closing and they were already shutting down the cash register because they ran out of food. Otherwise it is pretty decent and a nice place to come for informal dining when you want your fix of BBQ. read more

This place is amazing if you are a fan of BBQ. I have been numerous times and tried several different menu items. The pulled pork, chicken, and ribs are all excellent but my favorite would have to to be the brisket. I tend to bring a large appetite with me so I usually go with the two-meat platter. The sides are also very tasty (ranch beans, mac-n-cheese, sweet potato fries). They always have several craft beers on tap which I am a big fan of. The staff has been very nice and efficient every time I have been. Definitely check this place out, great atmosphere, great food, great beer, and great location! read more

We had great hope that we would have a wonderful bar-b-q joint but we were very very disappointed. My wife saw the loaded baked potato and got excited thinking of the loaded potatoes we get in Alabama... She ordered the loaded potato with pulled pork.. The potato was over cooked and cold. The advertised butter and sour cream were missing. The pork was very dry and had a cold pork taste. I ordered the brisket plate with beans and mac & cheese.. The beans were under cooked and didn't resemble ranch beans as advertised. Mac & cheese appeared to be in cheese sauce with cheddar on top and had a fake cheese taste. The brisket had sauce on it when delivered which I did not want.. I true bar-b-q joint doesn't need sauce when the meat is properly cooked.No bread or cornbread on this platter?? $14.50 The appearance of the facility is wonderful and it appears the marketing is well done. Marketing and appearance does not make a good bar-b-q. We will give them a few more months and try again if they are still around.. read more

An outstanding business that understands customer service, they truly care! My son had gotten to his last rib (carry out) when he thought he saw fuzz or whatever on it. Needless to say he was very upset thinking his ribs had landed on the floor....I took the rib back and showed Christina. She saw exactly what my son was referring too and told me that it's from the BBQ mop they use on the grill. Christina wanted to call my son to explain but I told her that wouldn't be necessary. Well, Christina wanted to make sure that my son understood, so she sent me home with a new mop to show him (she offered a replacement of ribs but my son wasn't going to take it). When I got home and explained to my son, he was SOOO relieved!!! Most importantly, my son was impressed and appreciated the fact that Christina went the extra mile for him....We will be a customer forever because we both enjoy their food and I enjoy the conversation and joking with the staff while waiting for my order :) Sharon read more
