I gave the coupon that by the way had no expiry date on it, to the young man doing cash, he showed it to the owner who proceeded to frown and say over and over "oh we don't use those anymore and we haven't for years" which I thought was weird as she just gave it to me last year. I don't like to cause a scene so I asked her if it had expired and was she not going to honor it, and she just kept saying "we don't use those anymore", so clearly I was not going to get my discount. I will definitely not be going back there, if they don't want people to use their coupons, don't give them out. I tried to give this place no stars but the rating wouldn't let me, 1 star is too many.

Alright, I'm not trying to be a stick in the mud or whatever, but you would think with a name…read morecalled "Global Pet Foods" that they would have a large variety of pet food for different types of pets. If you go to their website they say they have food for lots of animals: cats, reptiles, dogs, birds, fish, small animals and rodents... but when you actually go I would say that they mostly have food for cats, dogs, and birds. For birds all I noticed was Armstrong and Sunseed, nothing else in store. I'm just super hung up on the name right now because I don't think a place should be called "Global" if it only caters to the common animals. No rats or worms! This place is not reptile friendly at all. I was kind of miffed because I live down the street so it would have been cool if it was. The staff seemed really confused when I asked about the reptile section... they said they don't really carry that stuff. This is when I got hung up on the name. I also just don't find their prices to be competitive at all. If anything it is on the expensive side. Greenies, for example, are almost $2 more expensive here than they are at Petland. This is why I don't really find this place to be anything special. They do have a bomb selection of animal clothing though. So I bought a winter jacket for my naked cat. Now he can be warm!

I've been coming to Global Pet Foods for a few months now and have found that the staff is always…read morefriendly and helpful. They are knowledgeable about the products they sell and are able to give useful advice. Aside from the great service, they unfortunately do not have the best selection of rabbit food (or any "selection" whatsoever). They sell one brand of pellets and generic timothy hay. While I prefer other brands of pellets, I have bought theirs in a pinch. The biggest problem is they are consistently low on stock. I I've come in some days to find they are completely out of hay and litter. I know rabbits are more of a specialty pet than cats or dogs but regardless, no one wants to drive all the way to the store to find they don't have any supplies. I stop by when I'm in the area, but it isn't worth making the trip there for me. I'm sure cat and dog owners don't have this same issue with Global. In fact, they have a really good selection of organic/specialty canned dog foods. I picked up some "thanksgiving" dinners for my family's pooch not too long ago and he loved them.

I am writing this review just to make people aware of this business. Be cautious about what this…read morecompany promises to do because they do NOT follow through on the services/care they say they will provide for your pet. I had my cat boarded here in August of 2012. The owner, Marilyn, was very helpful and friendly during communication before I had my cat boarded there. Unfortunately, it seems as if as soon as she had my business, she didn't feel the need to follow through on what she said she was going to do. She said she would put my pet in a room with a window (which she did not do). She also said my cat would be able to go outside with the other cats up to eight hours a day. Since my cat is an indoor/outdoor cat who thrives with being outside, this was the only reason I boarded him here. She also said if he was shy around the other cats she would let him outside on his own at night. Marilyn also said she would give me 'regular updates' about how my cat was doing. None of these things were followed through on. When questioned, she would not admit that she had promised these things (even though I have emails proving the opposite) and claimed that my cat was 'too anxious' and 'untrusting' and therefore would not be allowed outside. I believe that she did not show him any affection or one on one attention and he was neglected and left in a room by himself for two weeks. For a very social cat, this would be very difficult. Anyway, just wanted to let people know to be careful with this business. It seems like they are too busy to give the animals the proper care and attention they deserve and that their customers are paying for.
