As a tenant in one of their SF properties under management, I couldn't be more impressed with their professionalism and responsiveness. They've quickly handled issues large and small as if they were equal in importance. I've directly communicated with Bart and Luke, and from those interactions I got the impression that they genuinely cared about our experience in our apartment. I've never been able to say that about a property management company before. Five stars might not be enough. read more

Ileana, our property manager, is amazing! She takes initiative in solving issues, follows up on topics without having to ask, and overall a joy to work with. She is an asset to Bohan and we love working with her!! read more

Ileana Magdaleno is one of the most courteous and responsive HOA reps I've ever had the pleasure of working with!

Ileana Magdaleno gets the job done fast. She doesn't need multiple calls and/or emails to remind her to get something done within the building. I like how proactive & efficient she is. read more

As a former HOA manager and a current HOA Board president, I cannot recommend this company. We had them manage our HOA for about 5 years. Things started out well with our first manager, but after 2 years, things went significantly downhill. The HOA business has become a highly skilled area of property management specialization. The Bohan managers we had were not certified nor did they receive proper mentoring and training from upper menegement. We have had to recover from significant issues and thanks to many hours of work from devoted board members, we have emerged while. read more

I've been dealing with a mold issue in my apartment since February. For months, Bohan Company was completely negligent and unresponsive to me and to our landlord. We cleaned and re-cleaned a large swath of black mold that grew on our bedroom wall. Throughout March, April, May, June, July, and August, it grew back despite additional contact by my landlord to Bohan Company. Finally, out of desperation, I hand-wrote a note and taped it to a neighbor's door, who I knew was involved in the HOA. My neighbor finally looped in Keith Kelly from the Bohan Company, who responded and (after much teeth pulling and continuous emailing from me) approved the construction company's work to begin. They also insinuated that my renters insurance would cover alternate accommodations, which is absurd because this building and the mold issue is 100% their fault. In any case, I checked with my renters insurance, and mold abatement is not covered. Finally, they agreed to cover our alternate accommodations for the period of the drywall reconstruction. However, they are refusing to pay for accommodation during the leak repair. So, I will be sleeping on my living room floor for a week or two while my bed is disassembled. I'm really disappointed by The Bohan Company's unprofessionalism and complete lack of care. Keith Kelly basically only responded to us when his money was on the line. If he had cared about this work being done, he would have taken action in February, when we made our initial complaint. I do not trust Bohan Company to get work done, and I do not trust that they have the customer's best interest in mind. Let it be known that I am fastidious about cleaning/dusting/wiping/sun/ventilation, so this mold is entirely caused by an outside leak, as confirmed by multiple outside inspectors, not by tenant negligence. I also emailed Bart, the owner, who did not bother to respond to my emails. Avoid Bohan Company at all costs. I'm sorry that it had to come down to a bitter Yelp review, but at this point, I feel that I've given the benefit of the doubt to Bohan Company, and they have not been cooperative or collaborative at all. No one wanted this mold to be here, least of all me. Bohan Company had multiple opportunities to solve this problem early. They chose not to. read more

Bohan Company has been managing our 23-unit condo property for a few years in San Francisco. Recently, I made a few requests to them and they took care of those immediately. Great customer service. Great job Luke Thomas and Battu Yadam! read more

I'm quite disappointed with Bohan Company that is managing our SOMA HOA. My concerns seem to be aligned with two other unsatisfactory Yelp reviews. I wish Bart, the owner, would have reined his company in and made his staff more responsive and more responsible. Rene was the worst manager I have ever had and thankfully she left the company. When I worked with her during the process where there was a heavy water damage that ruined my unit, she was not very helpful. I had to work things out by myself and work with insurance and contractors directly as it was easier than working with them through Rene. What a nightmare! The new managers stepped in after Rene's departure, and Bart promised me they would be terrrific. Unfortuantely, Bart was wrong, and new managers did a terrible job while managing my request to change the insurance so we could get easier refinancing. They have dropped the ball and did not keep me in the loop and did not seem to give a shit about me. I have asked our HOA board to look for another company, but HOA president is very weak and biased and incompetent as well. I worked with Bart to make sure that his staff responds to my emails and calls within 24 business hours. In the past, they never responded or responded one week later even though it was a simple mail or a simple call. Bart then agreed with me that it would be 1 day turnaround, but I still see staff failing to respond within one business day. This is one of many examples. Another horrific example is that when Bohan worked with FireSure to get all fire sprinklers inspected and cleaned, they promised to have one of agents there. I was there few minutes before the appointment started (9 am to 1 pm). I saw workers from FireSure there, but there was no one from Bohan or no one from HOA. After one hour, I let them in and asked what was going on. They said they were waiting for Bohan rep to come, but they never got a response or they did not get their phone calls responded. Because of me, they were able to start the work on the building and my units. As result, I lost my three hours. Bohan never thanked me for that or apologized to me for that and kept blaming on "external" stuff. This is definitely crazy! \ read more

We have had three management companies for our HOA and I can tell you that the Bohan Company has been the best yet! They have solved all of our financial problems, assisted with legal issues with our previous management company, and been responsive to any and all issues that have come up since we have contracted with them. Our managers have been available, informed, professional, and have helped us work with the "special" concerns of some of our "problemed" owners . . . I would, and have, recommended the Bohan Company to any Homeowners Associations looking for a management team to guide your Association to financial stability and professional management. BTW I have been the HOA President for our Association since 1995, a thankless job, but somebody has to do it! read more

Bad experience with this property management company. I've ask one of the manager to deal with a noise problem for almost 4months and still hasn't been resolved. I have a neighbor who loves to run and stomp on the rooftop, the noise level is ridiculously loud. I confronted the neighbor a few times before getting the property manager involved. They didn't do anything about it. The running and stomping had gotten worst. My wall mirror fell down twice in my unit due to the shaking caused by the stomping and running on the roof. read more

I have dealt with Bohan company for more than five years. The experience has been horrible. The person in charge/property manager has always been MIA and they have high turn over. I guess this kind of company can't retain its employees. I plead to you that you should not hire them to manage your properties. I think some of the positive reviews have been written by their employees so please don't trust them 100%. read more

The Bohan Co has been the property manager almost 2 years for the SoMa building in which I own a condo. They have been great, responsive, and now our costs have come way down. Our manager is Rene, who is great to work with, a licensed property manager, she knows what to do. The boss, Bart, is extremely organized, provides regular financial statements, and practices transparency in operations. read more

530 Larkin ST. Apartments for rent. If you are even thinking of renting an apartment from Linda or Julie at 530 Larkin st. you should reconsider. At any price, the aggravation of dealing with these absent and inattentive SLUM LORDS, will eventually sour the deal. Ok I realize this is the Tender Loin, but there is no excuse for the deplorable state of maintenance in this building. The WORST problems include, but are not limited to: An extremely UNSAFE stoop and front entrance. As only place to sit down on the block without being on the sidewalk; it is constantly occupied by intoxicated persons. With only one locking gate, all they have to do is sit and wait for easy access to the building. Neither land lord EVER answers their phone. They have no answering machine message, and they will get back to only at their convenience. There is a total lack of any English speaking staff on premises. Including the building manager, who, despite being a kindly older gentleman isn't very good at playing charades. A laundromat where the prices goes up regularly, but which rarely supplies any hot water. An elevator that is useless more often than not, especially around the last weekend of each month when tenets are moving out. And of course there is the blood and vomit left to dry on the walls and carpets. So... do your self a huge favor and keep looking. What ever you end up renting, you'll be happier and healthier by avoiding any interaction with the Bohan Property Management group in SF. read more

Unfortunately this company would not have received even a half a point. Bohan no longer manages our property. It was left in such a mess that two years later the HOA is still trying to recover. Not keeping up with contract maintenance that expired by the time we needed it, fraternizing with HOA board members at the cost of protecting members at large, and general unprofessional conduct makes this agency hardly one you would gamble on putting your trust in. read more

I am reviewing again because Bohan continues to offer consistently outstanding service. I love working with Bart Howard, the President / Owner, and Luke Thomas, our wonderful property manager. Even though we are a fairly small property compared to their other clients, they are responsive as if we were a large client. I recommend them! read more

You know it is bad when a company's executive does not respond to your questions. This is utterly POS. The reason why I say that? Basicly, the company has so much turn over that your account gets looped into the Twilight Zone every couple of years. During the time that you actually have a representative they find you bids that usually exceed market rate and have terrible ratings on Yelp itself. It isn't scientific to say that one causes the other but you would think that there would be more positive reviews for business that they endorse. Another thing is that during one of our meetings with them they contended that they can provide more services for an extra $18.00 a unit. Are you serious? There wasn't that much service provided with our initial contract. Let along to expect more for $18 more dollars a month per unit. Their solution to causes is more money. More money creates solutions. Not that their own solutions are at fault. We had our front door corrected four times in nine months due to their incompetence with the contractor that they sought. The worst thing about this company is that they don't stand by the services they offer. When they f*** it up they just go oh well. Or get back to you months later. If you thought the US gov was blotted wait till you check out this company. My word of advice: DON'T. read more

I have been on the Board of Directors for a business condo association for a while, and have been working with Bohan Company. Rene is our contact person, and the owner Bart is great. Both are organized and knowledgeable, and are easy to reach and respond to issues. They even showed up at our meetings . If you have problems, they will work with you. Talk to them and you should be fine. read more
