Unfortunately, we had a very poor interaction with Alexandra. I think a lot of the people writing reviews are people trying to rent out their place and not the actual people buying or renting the apartment. We found a great place on Zillow, toured the place, loved it and then submitted an application. The listing suggested we should put in an offer more than rental price listing on Zillow, which we found a little odd, but submitted a price. We then had some follow-up questions but when we asked them, she only responded by explaining we just had to send our best and highest bid and couldn't reveal anything about other bids besides ours was the lowest. This seemed like a classic strategy to drive up the price and do a 'bait and switch' false advertising. She also was extremely rude, actively trying to end the conversation and saying she had already talked to my other roommates and we didn't need to talk. When I said I wasn't comfortable making a higher bid without knowing any more information about the other bids, she said "don't worry I have a lot of other people who are willing to pay higher". I don't know if this blind bidding war is legal in SF, but this felt pretty shitty and scammy. From reading other reviews, it seems she's a little rude to other potential renters as well. read more
