I had a horrifying experience at this salon. I don't know what happened but I left and have major hair loss from getting it blown out. Major. I asked for blow out with big voluminous curls. My stylist blow dried my hair with her hands. She pulled at my knots so hard I thought my scalp was bleeding. At one point the blow dryer burned my scalp so bad I pulled away. After she finished blow drying my hair she curled it and was tugging so unbelievably hard I wanted to cry. She used so much product in my hair, yanked incredibly hard. When I saw the final result I was horrified. It was hair sprayed down flat to my scalp I looked hideous. I told her I looked horrible. She asked me to flip my head over and started rubbing some product all over my scalp. I'm assuming this was because she knew she pulled out so much hair. I paid and I left. The curls were gone within 10 minutes of leaving, completely flat. No volume, just flat thin hair. I took a shower the next day and feeling my hair in the shower made me sick. My ponytail is so thin, I lost so much hair here. I want to know what the hell happened. I would never step foot in here again my hair is ruined and I'm so upset. read more

I came here for a blowout and full face make up and Mckayla made me feel FLAWLESS!! She did my curls perfectly and my make up came out amazing! As soon as you step inside the door you feel like you're in a Barbie dreamhouse. Everything is pink and there are multiple floral wall designs, which was super fun for my after pictures! I asked for loose, beachy waves and my stylist crushed it. She completed the look using texture spray by Steeze, which had a melon scent that smelled amazing. I walked out feeling like a coastal Barbie queen! read more

I am absolutely obsessed with The Blowout Bar!! It's the perfect addition to the hauppauge/smithtown/commack area. The salon is gorgeous and girly and the vibes are always good. There are so many chairs so it's always easy to get an appointment, which is something I value immensely. Everyone who works there is both fun and professional. Everyone on staff is so accommodating and the owner Krissy is incredible. Right after I went for my first blowout I immediately bought a blow out package and now I go once a week. My hair has never been healthier and it stays fresh so much longer then it would if I washed it myself. I would give this place 6 stars of if I could, run don't walk!! read more

I was SO excited to get my hair done at The Blowout Bar. The place is adorable, but that's where the positives end. First off, I told the stylist clearly I didn't want any product in my hair. What did she do? Slathered it in product anyway. I touched my hair after the blowout, and it felt absolutely disgusting--greasy, heavy, and gross. It still feels weird even days later. Why ask what I want if you're just going to ignore it? Then there's the price. I called ahead and was told $35. When I checked out, they tried to charge me $65. Make it make sense. Thankfully, the manager honored the price I was quoted, which is the only reason this isn't a 1-star review. I still tipped the stylist $15 because she washed and styled my hair--but the way she and the other girls laughed afterward? Completely unprofessional. Like, do you want to be taken seriously or not? And let's talk about how these stylists show up looking like they just rolled out of bed. You work in a salon. Do something with your own hair. The vibe of the space is cute, but the staff absolutely kills it--in the worst way. Bottom line: Don't waste your time or money. There are way better salons in the area where you'll actually be listened to and treated with respect. read more
