I was in a time crunch and asked her to just do my whole face. I was sooooo nervous, but WOW she slayed it!!! I looked like a movie star! I was so sad to find out she only had 2 weeks left working at the salon because she was having a baby. So I got her cell and later asked her if I could come to her house out east for make up. She welcomed me no problem and was so affordable! From then on I drove from Garden City to Smithtown just to have her do my make up (that's how much i loved it! ) And now years later she has a great home business and I have sent her wedding parties, booked her for the models of my photos shoots for my bag line, etc! I'm so glad I was FINALLY able to make the time to see her. The salon is beautiful. There's a closet for coats and belongings. They have these great leather, curved chairs for the shampooing station which are SUPER comfortable. They also have beverages and snacks available. Caterina took FOUR inches off my hair. The length I was left with was PERFECT. She also did a beautiful blow out (see photo). I would definitely go back just for the blowout next time I have an event. Cost for a cut/blowout for my thick/long hair was $55, which is pricier than other salons, but so worth it for me. I only cut my hair 1-2x/year and I much rather pay a little more knowing I'll be 110% happy with the results.

I found this salon through social media and was immediately impressed by the work they shared so I contacted a stylist about booking an appointment and was told to come in for a consultation. I came in for my consultation to speak about what color I was interested in doing and the possibility of some extensions. After showing the stylist the color I wanted (i'll include the picture) I was quoted $370 for cut and color alone, at that point I made a quick decision and said F it i deserve this and booked the appointment. 2 days later after a full 8 hour shift, an hour and a half drive to the salon, and 4 hours in the chair I was BEYOND disappointed with the way it came out. Don't get me wrong the salon itself and the energy and the people working there are great but I am not the type of person to sit there and complain about the 4 hours of work someone had just done and was seemingly so proud of (as i believe most people can agree they would also bite their tongue in a situation like this) I would have said something had I known sooner than after the blowout, but when I'm sitting in a salon chair with no mirror in front of me for hours while 2 rounds of bleach are going on my head and I had no idea what it looked like the whole process what else am I meant to do but trust the stylist. So it wasn't until AFTER the blowout that I realized this was NOT AT ALL the color I had asked for. But I put a smile on my face and walked out the door after paying $370, went home and just cried over what I had just spent over half my paycheck on and now have to pay a different salon to fix because I refuse to go back to this place because I simply don't trust them..

I was very very happy with my experience at Christopher Street last Friday. Alexa was able to accommodate me on very short notice at the last minute for a cut and extreme color make over with Leanne. I was leaving for a trip when the weather forced my flight to be moved up and the salon was very helpful and not at all pretentious like most of the salons in the area. Leanne did a fabulous job, hearing what I wanted and remaking my inconsistent, brassy, banded, over processed hair from another salon into a beautiful striated shade of silver ash blonde I was looking for. She gave it new life and vitality along with a fresh new precision cut from Alexa. I left there feeling like my hair was. So much healthier and rejuvenated, I was much more satisfied with the color than I have been in years and I felt like higher end products produced a result that many people have complimented me on since; without having that "once over" hoity toity environment that many salons have. I came to Christopher Street Salon today at the recommendation of my daughter's friend who did Magic Sleek. NOTE: we do not live near the salon, rather we live in Manhasset where there are MANY salons nearby, but my daughter wanted to use Cathy who her friend used for this straightening process. I cannot say enough about Cathy and her love, care and professionalism for my daughter. We had a 3:30PM appointment and she looked at her curly hair and said - this is going to be 5-6 hours. Didn't even blink! I thought for sure she would want to end the day and go home! She worked tirelessly and KINDLY and did a beautiful job on her hair. I would travel any day and come just for that! Hands down, Leanne and Kathy are the most talented humans!! I've been a client at CS for 40+ years and never cheated! Leanne is super honest and always does a phenomenal job with my color. I am completely crazy with my hair and Leanne listens and does exactly what I want or what she wants...with my permission! I trust her totally and my color always comes out beautiful. As you can see in the photo, what an incredible job Laura did. Anyone that has gotten extension knows it's a lengthy process but but Laura made the time fly by. I've been using the tag-team of John (color) and Josel (cut and blowout) for more than 25 years and I have nothing but high praise for their excellent work. John creates blonde like no one else: natural looking, shiny and always in season. Josel's precision cuts keep me current and happening. I constantly get asked who does my hair and get loads of compliments. Josel styles it in a way that I can manage it with ease between visits. My hair is super straight and Josel is the only stylist to figure out how to make it work! I would be lost without them both! The salon is modern and comfortable as well. Absolutely love this salon. No matter who you go to you get a great cut and color. Lara is my favorite shampoo/assistant there. She is always friendly and informative about what I should use on my hair. I just went to Teresa for my color and I am so happy with the results. During quarantine I had cut my own hair, a chunk from the side, yes a mullet. A friend recommended Kathy so I made an appointment. My first was amazing and today, my 2nd appointment was amazing too. I wore a mask and wanted to finish my coffee outside, they brought me a chair. What? So nice. This salon really deserves these 5 stars for the great vibe I had in there. Starting from the phone call with the receptionist , then being greeted by an amazing hair colorist named Leanne. She began working on my hair after the consultation. She did such a beautiful job giving me a seamless balayage. It was a beautiful tone and really made my whole face brighter. When I moved from NYC I thought I would never find a stylist on Long Island (in fact for years I traveled back to the City every time I needed a haircut) that could give me a great cut that totally worked with my hair -- until I met Kathy! My first time time getting my hair done here has been an amazing experience! I got a beautiful balayage with Leanne and a haircut with Jeanine. Christopher Street Salon has been my go to place for several years. My hairstylist is very creative and does wonders with my fine, straight hair. The colorist I use has tried different techniques to remedy my own sometimes color resistant hair. Right away, I loved the atmosphere... relaxed, welcoming, and full of good energy. I ended up with Frankie, and from the moment we started chatting, I knew I was in great hands. He was super outgoing and easy to talk to, and I ended up telling him about my hair color issues. Not only did he take the time to listen to what I wanted, but he also had availability to fix my roots and do a glaze to even out the color on the rest of my hair. He really went above and beyond, and I absolutely love how it turned out. My hair feels fresh, and healthy! I'm so happy I found this place and Frankie!

Mind you, it's been a year since my last haircut so I was LOOOOONNNNNG overdue. It's been quite a year, 2017, and I wanted to go out with a bang. Out with the old, in with the bold - and a haircut is a great way to shake out all those bad vibes. When I sat in his chair, he asked what I wanted to do, and I was like - I want a side undercut. Yeah, I'm coming to you to shave my head. Not the whole head, mind you, just some. ;) And we agreed to keep the length long, with a slight layer to it. He did an AMAZING job. I'm totally obsessed with the undercut and it's something I've thought about getting for some time now. I knew I could trust him to see my "vision". And I also learned that my Aunt A. comes to him as well! I also got a clear glaze to lock in some shine for my dull winter hair and it really made my hair so silky and glorious. I seriously feel like a rockstar with my new look, and I feel ready to take on 2018. Carlton is kind and friendly, and a master of his craft. I would recommend him 1,000 percent.

Very friendly, fun, and most of all a great stylist. I don't even tell her what I want anymore, she just does her thing and it comes out looking great. It's only a few bucks more (which is still very reasonable) then your boring crew cut, and you don't look like everyone else when it is all said and done. Seriously thought they are great at what they do, and the new store is awesome. Definite recommend. Update: Increased from 4 to 5 stars. Five starts a reserved for things that are truly great. Since my first visit (resulting in my original review) they have managed to improve. Not so much in the hair cutting execution portion (that was aways top notch) but in the decor department. It's like walking into a cute little boutique that is also living room... Which is where you get to hang and chat until they are ready for you. Really nice overall experience.

Overall I was very happy with the work that was done on my hair and the care that was taken to make sure my hair was healthy. With that said there is nothing that justifies the cost of getting your hair done here especially since they triple book you and often leave your hair in the hands of their "assistants"- who are also stretched thin and mostly inexperienced. I get wanting to maximize profit. I have a business myself! So I get it. But imagine my surprise when i book a highlight at 11 and someone else books a highlight at 12 and now my colorist is leaving me to do both. On top of that i think it's generally wrong to not blow out your client who has just gotten color treatment because color looks different wet versus dry. I wasn't informed to book a blow out on top of my color services I was just rushed out of the chair with wet hair day of, which was odd. Additionally, someone who formerly worked on my hair here came into MY workplace for a service and then complained to my boss instead of letting me know directly that there was an issue. I would never do anything like that to anyone, but apparently this is the culture at this salon or what this individual decided was appropriate. Again, I was happy with how my hair came out here. They brought my hair back to normal after it was ruined by another salon, but I don't think I'll be back. Onward!

And left more gold. $360 and I went home extremely upset. My daughter had her own appointment for her highlights, hers came out better but for a $710. Mother daughter Teenager set of highlights in 2 days, We both felt it was just okay. and have not returned I was definitely disappointed with my hair. I had a lot of darker pieces put in from my previous hi lights Highs and lows and said I wanted to keep that instead the stylist washed me out. I would Not recommend this shop.

Well... yesterday was one of those days. It was 6:00 at night, and Robyn was delighted to fix me if I could wait 15 minutes. She was extremely pleasant and possessed mad scissor skills.
