Walking into this place off Main Street it's so bright and vibrant. The entire staff here is very warm and inviting. They make you feel at home before you're even in the chair. I went to see (the oh so talented) Nick. I hadn't had a good cut in years and he delivered one of his signature cuts giving my hair depth and life. His blowouts are A1 and I left feeling brand new. I get complimented every time I leave the house. He's amazing at color and gives you exactly what you're looking to achieve. My daughter saw Carolyn this past weekend and she's been feeling herself ever since. She had some chunky highlights done elsewhere in Bay Shore and wasn't too happy. I've been going to Stacey for platinum/ pastel hair for years and somehow my hair is in better shape now than before I decided to have my hair bleached to the lightest shade humanly possible. Initially I was going to bleach my hair until the damage caught up to me and I was forced to chop it but that day never came and now I've had literal dream hair for years- all because Stacey. I had been going to Alexis for maybe a year. I originally asked to see Andrew (who I think was the owner) but he wouldn't take me. so I tried Alexis. started off ok, but by the third appointment she completely overcharged me. she changed what I had booked, never discussed with me & naturally prices are not listed anywhere. it was very disappointing. but what bothers me even more, she smokes pot in the back. do they think customers don't notice these clouds wafting by them. do what you want on your own time but not while you are doing peoples hair. No. I work Monday through Friday, an 11 appointment is not accommodating at all. So no I would not recommend this place, they will only accommodate their regular clients. Emily did a great job blending in my highlights. I really wanted to go lighter, but as a first time client, until stylist gets familiar w your hair, i'm happy with the results. At first my hair didn't seem light enough, but when I got home, it was fine. I think the lighting in salon isn't optimal. Anyway, my haircut is perfect. All sides even - my personal pet peeve when its not. She was patient and accommodating. All the people in this Salon are warm and inviting. I had an idea of what I wanted and she listen offer her suggestions ( which I went with by the way) and ended up loving my hair. I have been coming here for almost a year now and I love it. I was going to another local salon in Islip that damaged my hair and destroyed my color. After hearing great reviews about this salon, I made the change and I couldn't be happier. Stacy fixed my damaged hair and now does my color, and she is amazing. I have also been to pretty much everyone else in the salon for blow outs and extensions, and everyone is very good. The whole staff is also extremely outgoing, friendly, and accommodating which makes each visit a pleasant experience. Nice, friendly salon with so many good reviews, I'd try again, just not with this stylist. Made an appointment for a haircut, was given Kelly, I came with a photo and asked for the hair length to be wavy at my clavicle (just as the photo), she originally said it would be 2 inches but as she was cutting said it looked more like 4, thinking we were still on the same page with length, I said ok. She did most of the work with my chair turned away from the mirror. When she turned the chair back, I saw she cut it so short that when it is straight it doesn't even hit my shoulders. My roots looked flat, and the bottom looked frizzy. I restyled it at home and it looked much better, but I still can't put all my hair up while I work or exercise, which is the most irritating part of not getting the haircut I requested. read more

Came here after another salon really messed up my hair after a bad dye job. Thank god this salon had last minute availability! Alexis saved my hair! I have very dark almost black hair and had asked the other salon to do a very subtle color/balayage to add dimension... somehow this translated to giant ashy almost green blonde stripes. Alexis balanced out the job done by the other salon, and darkened the color of the highlights to a melted chocolate color (which was exactly what I wanted in the first place). I went here for the first time today after buying a groupon for a wash, cut and blow dry. The groupon cost me $22 for a $45 service, which is a great discount, plus it was the best haircut experience I ever had. When I walked in, I met with Kelly and she consulted with me about what I wanted to do with my hair. I then went back to the sink to have my favorite part of the service: having my hair washed! I loved the smell of their shampoo and, even more, I loved the reclining chair at the sink that left me feeling super relaxed. The shampoo woman gave me a slight head massage; perfect after a long day of work. Then I went back to Kelly and she gave me a great haircut and blow dry. I wish I could blow dry my hair every day the way she does. It was a really great haircut and I'll be going back :) read more

I have now been here 2 times and had 2 different hair stylists and both gave me exactly what I asked for the chairs at the sink are specially made and recline in a special way as to not hurt my neck or back I strongly suggest you check them out I have never been more happy or confident in a salon :) my only tip is to ask for pricing ahead of time as some stylists have different pricing then others they also only take tips in cash :) enjoy !! I have curly dark hair to start off. I asked if they could give me the keratin treatment along with a balayage. They explained to me that I should have the keratin done first to prevent the color from stripping. I agreed and the hair stylist began the treatment. Overall it came out beautifully. She told me the keratin will ultimately smoothen my curls and be frizz free. I've had a keratin treatment done prior and I sort of knew what to expect. I waited 3 full days before washing my hair to let the treatment settle in and when I washed it my hair was back to curly. Not as curly as normal but still curly. I thought that my hair would remain straight so I called her back and explained my situation to which she replied it was a miscommunication between the two of us. She explained that what I wanted was a straightening and not a keratin and that they are two completely different treatments. I was so confused but she offered to fix the mistake which was nice of her. She wanted to do my balayage first since I had already made my appointment for it, which thinking back now, I should've cancelled it and just had my hair fixed because my balayage was not what I wanted. She lifted the color way too much and even left a few white strands to which she nonchalantly mentions like it's no big deal. It came out orange and I hated it but I was too much of a wimp to say anything. I will definitely never go back . I was so embarrassed with how it turned out. I always kept my hair up because I didn't want others to see how terrible it looked. The only reason why I went was because of how many great reviews the location has but it wasn't worth it. I spent so much money there not including the ridiculously expensive shampoo and conditioner I bought from them to which I later googled and found much cheaper on amazon! Smh I'm only giving them 2 stars because they were friendly. read more

I wasn't expecting a haircut so I figured since I didn't book that they must need to do that to do the treatment. But then was additional charged for a haircut I never booked or wanted. This review is for my haircut from the summer, my recent blowout and for the work Andrew and Jenny did for my sisters wedding and bridal party. Haircut by Jenny: I have to say I have a lot of hair and the hair I do have is incredibly thick. Jenny did a great job taking my hair and adding in layers that make it so I can jump out of the shower and run to work. It takes me too long to do anything to my hair in the morning so she perfected my hair so that I can just run out the door and not worry that my hair will be an utter mess when it dries. The blowout - I had my blowout by Jenny and my sister got a blowout by Jill. Both women were extremely attentive to us. My sister and I both have a lot of hair and my sister in particular has incredibly long hair. They both worked their magic and us both feel very special for my sisters rehearsal dinner. I don't think I've ever just gotten a blowout but I would do it again with this salon. Bride and bridal party - Andrew and Jenny made their way to our parents home early (7am) on a recent Saturday. Their demeanor was great and happy to be their, which was appreciative considering it was going to be a long day for us. Andrew and Jenny did an up do for the bride and down dos for 4 bridesmaids. My sisters (bride) turned out perfect - it was a romantic sides wept up do with a vintage feeling curl sweeping one side of her face. The brides hair stayed all day and night and even into he next day. I had a downdo of curls and pulled back in a half up half down way. My hair was parted dramatically to one side and it was cross-crossed in the back. Came out great. In the end all 5 women loved their hair and it came out how each of us envisioned. There were only happy tears that day and Andrew and Jenny did their part to make it such a special day. read more

They told me that I could come in right away for a consultation and see what they could do. I came in immediately and the stylist I was spoke to, Alexis, sat me down and asked me to explain what went wrong at the other salon. To start, everyone at the salon is super friendly and very accommodating. From the call to schedule an appointment and speaking with Tania, to walking in for the appointment, it's always so warm and welcoming. The ambiance in the salon is perfect for a moment of beauty, and being offered not only water, but coffee or even wine is so awesome. I am the kind of person that was/is very hesitant of having my hair done, even just a trim would make me worry, and I didn't feel that way with Andrew. He has always given the most honest opinion and has always done above and beyond what I expected.
