Right away, I loved the atmosphere... relaxed, welcoming, and full of good energy. I ended up with Frankie, and from the moment we started chatting, I knew I was in great hands. He was super outgoing and easy to talk to, and I ended up telling him about my hair color issues. Not only did he take the time to listen to what I wanted, but he also had availability to fix my roots and do a glaze to even out the color on the rest of my hair. I went in for a consult as a new client. I was determined to transition to gray after years of box dyeing at home to my natural dark brown. Tammy was so welcoming and kind and patiently explained why this was not really possible. She recommended I start with a Magic Sleek keratin treatment even though straightening my hair was not part of my plan. But I have had awful, curly, frizzy hair all my life. She explained that the treatment would smooth and make my dull hair shiny, lift a lot of the old box color (which it sure did) and then we could talk about adding gray highlights and move forward with the color transition. The Magic Sleek treatment was life-changing! For the first time in my 64 years my hair was beautiful and straight and I absolutely loved it. Everyone I know was so complimentary and told me how fantastic I looked and so much younger! My hair is now so easy to manage, I always look put-together and my morning routine takes a few minutes. Several coworkers have asked where I got it done because they are considering it after seeing my results. Veronica did my keratin treatment - she is amazing. I saw Tammy again yesterday for my first cut after the treatment, she did a beautiful job trimming and shaping, giving me an angle cut and leaving it as long as I had asked. Most of the really dark ends are gone, will see how much more of the old brown dye will lift after the next keratin treatment but I really love how my gray is growing in and blending very nicely. Pedicure and manicure , the ladies doing them seemed agitated that we came in later in the day. They wanted us to come in earlier because it was a slow day, and they made me feel like we were annoying them by being there . Massage chair didn't work. My pedicure was ok , the massage part and leg rub down was rushed and short . Some of the ladies had an attitude. The manicure was not good. The nails were cut unevenly and there was still dirt under the nails afterwards. I would not come here again. read more

First of all, this salon and spa is MASSIVE! And they have a convenient coat closet, which is a nice touch, along with free coffee in the boutique area. I came in on a Groupon lead to get deep conditioning and a total overhaul haircut. As in buzzing a chunk of it off. I'd spoken to other salons who seemed nervous about that type of cut, but they were confident they had the right stylist for the job, going so far as to swap me to a higher level professional without additional cost. Plus, they were more than accommodating with making an appointment. The shampoo girl wasn't the friendliest, but boy did my stylist Sarah make up for that and more! She really paid attention to the details in the photos I showed her and made fantastic, individualized recommendations to rein me in and create my own look. Not only that, but I've had a hard time finding a hairdresser that understands that NOT ALL ASIANS HAVE PIN-STRAIGHT HAIR. I have loose waves in mine (even weighed down by an overgrown lob) and she saw that right away. She unlocked such body and texture in the long part of my cut that I literally don't have to do a thing to it after washing it. It just airdries in the biggest, beachiest waves I've ever had. I had an appointment recently for a blow out at 9am. I arrived at 8:59am. There were two women at the front desk, and one actually made eye contact with me as if she was going to greet me and then got up and left. The other woman had her back to me and had a personal conversation with another staff member. After six minutes of standing there I moved closer and she said "is anyone helping you?" And I said no. She then checked me in and told me the stylist wasn't in yet. I reminded her my apt was for 9, and she said she will be go get washed with ____. I said I don't know who that is? And then she finally directed me, and said "apparently she doesn't want to wait so can you wash her now?" No I don't want to wait when it's my baby shower and I'm on a tight schedule. 9:20 the stylist arrived late. I sat at her station as she curled her eye lashes and did not greet me. I've never been treated so poorly. I am used to upscale salons in Nassau County, and this was not anywhere close. My blow out was okay, I left with a lot of static and too much hair spray on the left side of my head, but with the help of a friend we got it together before my shower. I finally found the salon...the colorist...the hairdresser... all in one "hot" spot.. I absolutely love and adore this hair salon... from the owner to Kelly, Tatiana, to my favorite colorist "Nicole" who has more patience then a saint. This salon is so clean and in these hard times practicing social distancing..while accommodating there clients. It is such a pleasure to walk in and the front desk knows you by your first name. 10/15/16 BOCU SALON AND DAY SPA I bought a groupon for a manicure and a pedicure or with the exceptional Jackie by nails. Well she was not at all what she said she is. Made a 2 appointments with her, the first she had a family emergency. I had to get my groupon extend it because that was the last day it expired. I just moved to the area and was looking for a salon that was recommended by others. This came highly recommended by a friend. Unfortunately, this is one of the worst places I have been. The receptionists needed to finish their conversations with each other and staff before assisting me or checking me in/out. (This happened on the 3 separate times that I tried and I kept trying to give this place another chance) The haircut I got was really uneven. I had to get it corrected by another salon and refused to let the person who originally cut it, correct it. The stylist also told me that she had no time to blow my hair out. I was surprised that the customer service was the same everytime I went and the atmosphere is where you just feel like a number. It is not worth the price and the salon is pricey. read more

I think Bocu salon is alright. I've had haircuts that turned out super nice. BUT i went to Gabriella for hair color for the first time and I honestly would NOT suggest her. She is the only person I had a problem with there. She gave me the color I wanted which toned my original highlights on my hair but I asked for a face frame that hardly shows any highlights in the front (literally looks like one strand that was slightly highlighted). She told me if I wash my hair a few times it'll appear better but hasn't. So i called and asked her to fix the front to put more highlights since I paid for the face framing highlights and she told me it'll cost 90 bucks extra since it's been two weeks and that she already did the face frame. She also tried to hold against me that i said i wanted something subtle. that doesn't mean to give me as less highlights as possible. I've been to places that cost the same or much cheaper for much better results. I wouldn't go back there for color. read more

This is a review for both the SPA and SALON. SALON: Recently, I purchased a Groupon to try Bocu's famous salon services. I was pleased to get an appointment same-day for cut, color, and blowout. The woman at the front desk was not the best. She seemed to have an attitude and rushed me to answer the phone. The girl who washed my hair was a DOLL. So sweet and gave me one of the best scalp massages of my life. As for the cut, color, blowout - AMAZING. They listened to exactly what I wanted and I am happier with this new look than I ever imagined. I HIGHLY recommend the salon. SPA: I have been to the spa for both waxes AND facials. For waxing, I have found this salon to be pricey and I recommend going to a European Wax Center instead. As for facials, the services are WONDERFUL and they really take their time and make you feel comfortable and beautiful. BOCU - RECOMMENDED! read more

Went in with a groupon, was told to come 15min early to leave the deep conditioner to sit. The lady at the desk was rude and unfriendly saying how I needed to come in 30min earlier because of my hair length which they did not ask on the phone. When it came time to conditioning they only left it in for 5min while I had to wait on the couch for another 5 min. Couldn't they have let it sit for that 5min until the hairdresser was ready? I should note that it was morning hours on a weekday and they was only one other person in the salon, they could have easily let it sit for 30min. My hair dresser Janet made the front layers way shorter than I had showed but she was very friendly and it still looked great with the blowout that I didnt care. I would still prefer a stylist to double check with the length before cutting. read more

Chris is the master of blowouts! Ask for chris for your party night blowout! We met chris in Miami when we asked his cousin who did her gorgeous hair. It was my birthday and chris agreed to do my hair for our night out, just to be a nice guy! In 15the minutes with nothing more than a blow dryer and a roll brush he turned my freshly washed wet hair into the cutest and at the same time hottest style I've had in years. He then did my friend's hair (totally different cut and texture) and it was perfect! We both left it up to him to do what he thought would look best and we both were thrilled. I went to this salon the first time and had a great experience with Sara. Very nice and personable. Then I decided to go back for my color with Felicia and let me tell you all, it was the best color I have ever gotten. I didn't have many ideas going in but I explained I wanted to brighten up my face by doing something to my hair and she knew exactly what to do. Everyone in the salon was pleasant and very helpful. They really take care of me when I go. Someone recommended Danielle for hair color and I could not have been happier. Yes the place can be pretty busy and they're very big but if you have a lot of hair and long, make sure to tell them ahead of time so they can plan it out. There was only one experience where my hair was not toned long enough but they fixed it afterwards without any complaints. I just came home from an absolutely wonderful experience at the spa. Wanting to slough off winter's assault on my skin, I booked a body scrub. I had some trepidation because this does put you in a rather vulnerable position, but I couldn't have been more pleased. The session began with a delightful eucalyptus scented steam room and then I met with Jacqueline in the body treatment room. The scrub was invigorating and I even mentioned that I'd never felt this relaxed being naked in front of a stranger! She scrubbed every inch of me and then I was rinsed from head to toe with a vichy shower. One word: AWESOME! After patting me dry I was slathered in moisturizer. My skin feels incredible.
