This establishment has the most positive energetic vibe. All the guys are hot..even the employees, as are us ladies. For some reason the signage was intimidating, but once inside it's a pretty decent bar. Food is above average pub fare, and the beer selection is pretty good as well...I had a Stone IPA and a Two Hearted so I was happy. The service makes me think they could use another set of hands in the place - in any case they are always pleasant. There are a lot of tv's as well so it would be a fine spot for watching sports, without all the insanity of say a Buffalo Wild Wings. My wife and I had a bad experience here once and have stayed away for several months. From the pics and comments on their website we decided to try it again on a Sunday for lunch. We were very surprised by the high quality food. I had the Grilled Chicken Pesto sandwich that had grilled red peppers on it and it was delicious. Wife's Reubon was also above average. We started with the corn nuggets as an app and they were a great start. Football was coming on and the place filled quickly but our server, Shannon did a phenomenal job keeping the drinks and food coming. We've been here more times than we should've...the food is decent, although too pricey compared to similar spots around town. The service is rough. We always have lots of empty glasses and missing meals and the servers can be scatterbrained. Even the bills have been wrong more than once. They always end up fixing everything, but it's just not worth it when there's so many other options. read more

Great Food in a Sports Bar. I had a California Chicken Sandwich with Sweet Potato Waffle Fries. A large, juicy chicken breast with melted cheese, yummy bacon, avocado and garlic mayo on a tasty bun. Big and delicious. The waffle fries were cook perfectly with just the right amount of crisp. Ask for a gourmet dipping sauce...Its really Good DH had a Philly Cheesesteak with Homemade Onion Rings. It was big with lots of freshly cooked meat, cheesy and delicious. The onion rings are cut fresh from real onions, hand breaded and fried perfectly. We stopped for a quick supper and a beer. Nice selection on tap. Met a few friends for drinks and our men played a few games of pool. My meal was more than just bar food. Service was good but not excellent. Food was okay but my husbands burger was too rare and They never asked how he wanted it done.....I had the nachos and they didn't have much meat, cheese or anything on them. I could if just ordered chips and salsa. The biggest turn off was the loud music ... it was too loud and you couldn't have conversation without yelling. I don't understand this because maybe the employees like this but they aren't the customers so turn it down. Maybe after 9pm. You can turn it up! We may try it again but not sure. read more

Well, I've never written a restaurant review before, and I'm not a professional "foodie", but I visited a place for the first time last night and thought I would let you all know what I thought! After a round of disc golf, Greg and I decided to stop in for a bite to eat at The Blind Pig on Center Point Road in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The building was previously The Londoner, and before that I believe it was a sports-themed bar that I can't remember the name of. Obviously the set-up of the building is the same as the previous bars, and unfortunately I didn't take the time to really look around at the decor. I did notice that there were plenty of TV's around, making it a good place to watch "the game", if you are into that kind of thing. They had a decent sized beer menu, including several craft beers. And the food, I am told, is all made from scratch. Greg ordered one of his faves, fish and chips, and I ordered a meatloaf sandwich and sweet potato fries. Both were very yummy. And at the end of our meal, someone from the kitchen came out to ask us how the food was, and also offered to bring me out some secret marshmallow sauce for the sweet potato fries I was packing up to take home with me. Well, I don't know if it is secret sauce, but I don't believe it was on the menu, so you have to know to ask for it. So now you know-ask for it. Definitely yummy! There were plenty of other things on the menu that I would like to try, so I will have to make some more visits. And you should too! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find an official facebook page or website to send you to, but if you are in Cedar Rapids, you know the area I am talking about. Wanted food with a few beers, so we decided to give this place a try on a Tuesday night. Food was great, from a place with pig in the name I was hoping the pork would be good, and it was. I got the pig out burger was awesome- especially since I don't usually get burgers when we go out to eat. The sweet potato fries were worth the little extra. My wife got the pulled pork and Jac mac, I tasted both and they were also really good. They have a hot cherry steak sauce that was delicious. I am really surprised by the flavor variety they have, as well as the number of number of tap beers (20!), and 2/3 of them are specialty or imports. Service was pretty good, a bar tender, a cook, and a waitress and the place was at least 1/2 full the whole time we were there (not including the patio area, at least 2-3 parties out there), we were never lacking for drinks long. I am not a fan of loud places, and as far as this bar and grill goes, it wasn't bad, music wasn't over powering, was able to talk to my wife without yelling and others conversations were competing with ours. We left about 9 pm as a DJ was just getting started. Could do without the smokers sitting on the bench outside the main entry (thought there was a law about proximity to the door), bur, all in all I said you get what pay for and if you're looking for bar and grill this place fits the bill. read more

Ate here last night with friends. As others reviewers have stated, this is a very noisy bar, but the food is excellent! We shared fresh made onion rings and better dipped mushrooms. Also tried the French Onion soup. I had a French Dip Sandwich. Yum, yum and yum! Our waitress promised us everything was fresh made in house and there was no reason to doubt her. My cole slaw was good, but my wife tried the potato salad and it was absolutely the best I've had in a restaurant. All the food we tried was far above what I have experienced in other local restaurants who serve ready made stuff or even if they make their own, they don't serve it fresh. Update 5/20/15. Took another friend here tonight. Got a different server. She brought apps and entrees together. Nothing was hot. Potato salad was old and runny. Wow! What happened? The only bright spot of our evening was that our good waitress from last Friday took over toward the end but it was too late to save things. Fab restaurant and bar! It seems that from 11am-8pm it's more bar and grille. Yet from 8pm-2am it has great night life!! The food is AMAZING! Annie their head chef makes daily specials and also they're amazing! P.S. The tenderloins are the biggest and best in town! Tara, Ashli and Mia are the fastest bartenders in town! Went there for the 3rd time last night. Again, the food was above average for a bar, but the service is terrible!!! Went out to the patio, trash everywhere, wasn't real busy at the time, people smoking (not permitted per state RCW). Waited & waited for service, she finally comes out and asks us if we gave our beverage order at the bar upon entering the place. "No, that's what you do isn't it?" "Aren't you our server?" Well, one of our girls didn't show up tonight. "And?" Anyway service was slow as a turtle. I counted no less than five servers working that night + the bartender. She never came back after finally serving our food. We had to wrap our leftovers in napkins and go back inside to pay our bill. To the owner of this joint- I suggest that you find a better class of girls to serve your food. They look like the HOOTERS type, so classy! My review focuses on suitability for a Hawkeye Game Day, and the short answer is a hard NO! The smell of stale beer assaults the senses upon entry. The place is covered by hanging ceiling lamps, that from many angles, have to be looked into and past to see a TV - the brightness is uncomfortable and distracting. A table near ours unscrewed the bulbs above them, it helped . Clientele 98% dressed in Hawk gear, and game specials don't start until that game starts, right? The Iowa game had started, AND scored before they bothered to change the channel on a few TV's from the ISU game. Even worse, the sound of ISU game was left blaring while the Iowa game was on! Did they immediately change channels and sound when the clock ran out ? Nope, the teams milled about, left the field, commercials came on, and STILL, no staff bothered to switch the TV's to the Hawkeye game. They acted totally oblivious to the reason why the bar was packed on a Saturday afternoon!! Service started out OK, devolved into unacceptable, I'm guessing because she decided we were cheap asses when we drank water for awhile. Once we decided we couldn't take it any more, and requested the tab, another approx 15 minutes went by before she brought the bill, then returned to collect payment. The prices posted on line were lower than the actual menu prices, the draft beer was cold, onion rings OK while they were hot; not crispy to begin with so they became limp grease rings after 10ish minutes, and the sauce that came with had to have been seriously watered down ranch dressing. I concur with other reviews that the noise level is horrific, and ignore old reviews regarding wings. Notes hung by the bathroom inform patrons that due to rising costs, 50 cent wings are no longer available. It takes a VERY BAD ATMOSPHERE/SERVICE for us to give up a table and gamble on finding another seat at another bar after a Hawkeye game has started. We paid ALMOST DOUBLE per beer at Sammy's, and didn't regret it for a second! read more
