Imbibing outdoors with you sunnies on and the sunshine on your shoulders or the cool night surrounding you is just the ABSOLUTE best. (Their fire pit is a nice feature as well.) There are multiple bars (three?), tons of TVs, pool tables and dart boards, too. The Iowa game will always be on at Joe's. The staff has always been friendly, prices are always on point. And the crowd is a tad bit 'older' than some of the other college town watering holes. Which I enjoy. They have a daily Happy Hour (4-8pm) with $1 off drafts and $6 domestic pitchers. And other deals from 8pm-close everyday but Friday and Saturday. PLUS, self serve free popcorn is available. There is no 'real' food offered here. And I appreciate that Joe's Place isn't trying to be something it's not. This is a must-have place for a brew and to watch the game. Just be sure to grab a bite before you come!

Then she came inside. Bartender took my ID, searched to ensure it was legit. Served me... then continued to inform another customer she had to ensure I was 21 by looking my ID up. Still seeming skeptical after service, interesting. After stating my birth year she corrected me stating my ID said I was born in '98.... She was massively wrong and couldn't take it! Told me to leave after stating her comments were rude. Don't come here... it was dead anyway! Enjoy an empty "Pitcher." I would highly recommend going anywhere else - it was dead anyway....! A customer was tossing coasters at me as I asked for a refund for the beer I was "illegally" served! Worst experience I've ever had in a bar.
