Scores on 33rd is excellent. We walked here from our hotel on a whim and were seated promptly. The menu is extensive, featuring wings, burgers, and pizza. I chose the catfish po' boy with jalapeño corn. The corn was amazing, but the sandwich itself was just okay. My lady ordered the Nashville Chix with coleslaw. The chicken had the perfect blend of spicy and delicious. The coleslaw was really good, though I'm not a coleslaw fan, so take that for what it's worth. The atmosphere includes lots of TVs playing sports, a large bar, and at least two pool tables. There's also a big outdoor seating area with cornhole. It felt a touch run down when we visited, but we arrived just after winter, so it's probably very nice the rest of the year. The staff was attentive and friendly. It's also conveniently located near hotels, shops, and plenty of other things to do. I would definitely return to Scores. read more

Traveling, stayed at a nearby hotel. Looking for somewhere to eat that wasn't a chain restaurant and found this place. From the moment we walked in, the service was fantastic!! There was a huge party, a group of little leaguers and parents (30-40 people) there at the time. We were told that because of that, the food might take a little longer, we were fine with that, but appreciated the heads up. Despite that, the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. And the food was really good! Great sandwiches and fries, all served hot. The waiter continued to be attentive throughout our meal, even though he was extremely busy. We were very impressed. We stop through Cedar Rapids every year so we're glad we finally found a good place to relax and have dinner. Btw, the multiple sports on TV are a total bonus! read more

Looking for a sports bar you found a good one here. Plenty of bar seating, hi top seating, and dining seating for whatever type of group or solo you need. TVs all over and games. 2 pool tables. All good stuff. Food is typical bar food. Pretty good no complaints. Great beer selection. It seemed to be a bit local crowd but it was fine. Servers were avg. which is not bad given the challenging world of finding good help anymore. I went here 3 times is a 5 day trip so I guess it's worth a shot to anyone as I clearly went back. lol read more

A great place to watch a game, shoot some pool or just enjoy happy hour. Unfortunately your happy hour may take longer than anticipated, due the fact that they are pretty short staffed. Had to wait multiple times to get more beverages however, they do have a lot of beers on tap. read more

Bust night at the pool tables and the bar. Bartender was busy waiting tables and the bar and one waitress tending tables. So service was slow but being short staffed doesn't help. I got a huli huli pulled pork sandwich and tots. The sandwich had plenty of meat but not much huli sauce. It was more like a dry rub that was very salty. The slaw on it was really just chopped cabbage no cream to it. The sandwich was very dry and the tots were cold. Definitely a mediocre visit. read more

Pros--Food isn't outrageously priced. The tots are good. The scrolling ticker providing sports news and stats is colorful and pretty cool. The jalapeño cream corn is an interesting side dish for this type of venue...that said, it was quite tasty. I also had the touchdown grilled cheese, which was cooked very nicely,,,and the cheesy frites. The crispy shallots were also an interesting addition...I thought it added a nice hint of garlicky flavor. That's the good. Now the bad... Cons--No ready access to see beer lists. The table tent mentioned looking at a monitor, but they were all on sports (which is kind of the point of a sports bar, but.....). Same with bottled/can beer, no list. Even a QR code would be better. Our server seemed dismayed about having to work a table of 10. Service seemed abrupt and not exactly rude, but not exactly friendly. Perfunctory might be the Word of the Day...I think that sums up the service level we received. I'll try them again and hopefully our server is having a better day. read more

I was a little skeptical about trying this place after reading the reviews... but thought I would try since I was staying at the hotel next door... easy walk. Service: no issues. I received really good service sitting at the bar. Food came out in a timely manner and drink was topped off quickly - 5 stars Food: ordered the chili soup, not bad but needed a little more kick. I like my chili spicy - 3 stars Boneless wings: 2 stars due to the chicken was dry and the buffalo sauce didn't have that great of a taste. Ambiance: 5 stars, great TV's, awesome live betting lines with the scores rolling on all the games playing. Definitely had the sports bar atmosphere and theme going. My friend and I were starving after flying into Cedar Rapids and came across Scores on 33rd through Yelp. We showed up around lunch time and the place was very big and had an excellent TV situation for watching games. They also had a pool table. Our waitress was very nice and took good care of us. Awesome sports bar serves outstanding food. Came here expecting typical sports bar food. Instead, discovered a great variety of quality food and options. The herb chicken was delicious and the flat bread pizza appetizer was equally delicious. They have over 30 television sets playing all the games and the atmosphere was super nice. I went back in November. I think this used to be a Chinese restaurant. I sat at the bar since there were not many people sitting at the booths. I had some beer. I ate pretzel twist and jalapeno popper with some beer. All were tasty. I was surprised to her a song from "New Kids on the Block" instead of a song from Skynyrd or Toby Keith. I had to move a seat down to accommodate two people. I was okay with this. Overall a good experience. May come back here if I stay at Fairfield. Probably the most interesting thing was the next day. As I checked out of the hotel and packed my bags. One of the people who asked me to move down the seat apparently stayed at the same hotel and he thanked me again for moving down one seat. This place is a hard no for me. Beer is overpriced, it's not in a good part of town, and the servers are wildly, and I mean wildly slow. The bartender spent the night talking to her friends at the end of the bar. I'm cool with waiting a few minutes for a refill on a beer, but when it gets to ten minutes I'm done. Fix your employees. We tried a few things here and all were very good! These included the chicken tacos. This dish includes three street tacos, with your choice of protein. I tried the chicken. Each taco had a generous amount of it. The chicken tasted like it had a good marinade and spices and they were served with a really tasty salsa. We also tried the Huli Huli pulled pork sandwich, which the menu says is filled with pork that has been slow cooked for 18 hours. It was also very good. This sandwich, just like all of the sandwiches, comes with a side dish, which you can choose from a list. My wife got the made from scratch potato chips. They were great but maybe a bit dry. We tried their onion rings. They are top notch! Given the choice between onion rings and the made from scratch potato chips, I would choose the onion rings. We also sampled the rangoon appetizer. Good stuff and the dipping sauce is really good. The place has a great atmosphere. It looks like the perfect place to catch the game. It's also a sports bar/restaurant, with lots of beers on tap. All the food had both the taste and the presentation one would expect from a chef with a lot of talent and experience. This is not typical bar food! read more

I booked my hotel in Cedar Rapids based on its proximity to this establishment. I didn't realize at the time they had only opened a week prior to my visit. Overall, I would recommend checking it out. There are plenty of TVs broadcasting current sporting events and a nice ticker above the bar with some breaking sports news. On the negative side, they didn't have a tap list to look at and the staff didn't have a thorough understanding of what was on tap. Additionally, they only had one stout on tap during prime stout season. On the positive side, my server, Ashley, was great and offered me samples of a couple of different beers to try. Ashley also maintained awareness and would come by when my beverage was getting low and took good care of me. I also spoke with other staff members and they were all polite. As far as the food offerings, I can recommend the smoked wings and the fish and chips was also quite good. I found the prices were reasonable and the service was quite good. I had the buffalo Mac flatbread and my husband had the grilled cheese( not sure if that's the official name) came with pub chips. Our food Was good and the service was great! Our only recommendation is that the pub chips need to come with a dip-French onion and could even be a appetizer as they are so good! Decided to give this business another opportunity. I sat at the bar and there were only 3 other people at the bar. Ordered a beer,the draft beer was not cold. Asked for a menu and waited 15 minutes and bartender didn't even ask if I was interested in ordering. Parking lot looked busy but only 15 people in the restaurant. Must be mostly employees. Gave up and paid bill and the 22 oz draft cost about 6 bucks! Service is still terrible. This will be my last time at Scores. we chose this out of all others along 33rd @ I-380 for lunch. our waitress did a great job but the chef needs to try to eat his compilations. I ordered a chicken sandwich with pesto, buffalo Mozzarella with balsamic reduction, lettuce & tomato. The sandwich was cut in half so I placed half up on my plate rim to spare it from a worse fate. First off the ciabatta bun was sitting in a puddle of the balsamic, so it was all soggy. The lettuce and tomato were sliding off the bun so I removed those, too. The inside of the bun was heavily smeared with pesto. Now to this point ideally it might be best to rebuild the sandwich with thought given over so it would stay together, not get soggy and be enjoyed. I might put pesto on inside of bottom half of bun, add cheese, then lettuce, the chicken pattie, tomato & a light drizzle of balsamic in inside of bun top. Now for the worst of it! I don't know the cause but the chicken breast was awfully tough. It had been horizontally sliced after grilling. The meat was rubbery, & extremely inedible, especially along the parts that hit the grill surface. My hands were a total sh-t mess, requiring a trip to the restroom to do a surgical cleaning scrub so I could finish my salad and drink! Had the manager not been meeting with the bakery guys touting their bun varieties, I was otherwise prepared to have words with him. If the chef were to prepare one like he did for me & attempt to eat it he might get my drift. While he's at it cut it in two and share it with the manager. I never write reviews on anything, but this place is very memorable and not in a good way! My husband ordered a bbq sandwich and I ordered the grilled cheese. I didn't think anyone could screw up a grilled cheese, but it happened. First off my husband got his food before me. No problem except I sat there for 20 minutes watching him eat. He was done by the time my grilled cheese came. The bread wasn't even toasted, the cheese was not melted. it was not grilled cheese, it was 2pieces of bread with slices of cheese. I sent it back, told them to take it off the bill and we would leave. I was hungry, but I wasn't going to spend anymore time there. The waitress was nice, but she could only do so much. read more
